Using Scraps on Baby Cards for Some Card Challenges

Happy Tuesday!! I am just popping in at the last minute to post some baby cards I created. I was inspired by this weeks badge from the Inspired By #166 challenge for the colors of my cards and the theme.

My first card is a top folding card. I used Lawn Fawn "Little Bundle" stamps and matching dies for the little baby clothes.

The Inspired By photo below is my inspiration:

I die cut my patchwork squares from paper scraps using the MFT Pierced Squares (retired). I knew I had to use the color scheme from the photo because it used ORANGE!!!

My die cut sentiment is from PTI-Wonderful Words Baby.

I am going to enter this into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Two or More Pattern Papers as well.

My second card is similar to my first. However, I loosely based it on the Inspired By Sketch

Here is the Inspired By sketch:

As you can see, my patchwork is not laid out like the sketch and I did not use a circle under my sentiment. Instead I made an imaginary circle sentiment block by surrounding the die cut with the little baby items. Can you see it?

I have not made baby cards in AGES and these were SO FUN to create. It was a fabulous way to use up some of my paper scraps too!!!

In other news, I am STILL moving my craft room. I cannot tell you how much stuff I still have and how much I have gotten rid of!!! I do need to get my new room in order, though, which means cleaning off shelves from my old room to haul the furniture upstairs to put all the organized crap that I have in containers all over my floor!

Part of my cleaning this weekend was getting a huge amount of scrapbook pages in actual albums. It has made miss scrapbooking and I might have to take it up again.

Well, I want to get this posted. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a GREAT night!

Happy Monday and Cards for Some Challenges

Happy Monday everyone!! I am back to work today after a week long vacation. In some ways I am glad to be back as I do not get paid when I am not at work, but in other ways, I enjoyed my down time. One thing I was able to do was get in the craft room. I should have CLEANED it but I decided to use the time to make some projects.

The first two cards I created were for the TWOFER Card Challenge. Here are the cards I created:

The idea of this challenge is in the badge below. The theme this month was zoo animals.

I almost didn't start this challenge as I had no idea what I could do. I do have animals but I always have a difficult time using them on cards. I decided on the elephants from the WPlus9 "Unforgettable" stamp set because I had some already colored in and die cut. This is what I used for the purple card.

I added the purple balloon and friend sentiment, and the happy birthday print out, because each was in my little box of leftovers.

I used a bit of glossy accents on the hearts in "friend" and on the balloon.

I am also entering this card into the Seize the Birthday Challenge #163: Anything Goes.

For my second card, I thought I was all set as I had the same elephant colored in a blue, with polka dots. As it always goes, I could not find any cardstock to match it and so I wound up stamping another one and coloring it in. I chose to make a baby card from it.

The background is a stencil and I die cut the layered circle out of cardstock scraps. The sentiment on a tag are tiny stickers that I have from my scrapbook days. LOVE how this came out.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!

Less is More Challenge #378

Happy Friday!! I have been having fun in my craft room the last couple days. I have been using NBUS (Never Before Use Stuff-acronym coined by Darnell) that has been collecting dust.

My first card I kept it really simple. I used Docrafts *"Moroccan Tiles" dies to cut out scrap pieces.

My inspiration was from the Less is More Challenge #378, Sketch 24. It was to use the sketch below as my inspiration.

I then used the smallest square die in the *Umbrella Crafts Nested Squares die set to die cut four squares to go under the decorative die cuts.

I layered the squares over the kraft A2 card front and then adhered a My Favorite Things banner sentiment in the middle.

I really like how this came out and cannot wait to use the other dies in the *"Moroccan Tiles" die set.

My second card is a baby card that I made with Lawn Fawn's *"Little Bundle" stamp and die set for my cousin. He and his wife had a beautiful little girl.

I created the background by shading *"Tumbled Glass" Distress Ink and using Copic markers for grass.

The little clothes were die cut from scraps of patterned paper and then I used Nuvo Crystal drops for the buttons.

Well that is all for me tonight. I hope you all have a fabulous night!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Vacation and some Lawn Fawn "Little Bundle" Cards

Happy Friday everyone!! It is my last day of vacation before the weekend. Charlotte and I spent it home as Chris was away on business.

I was a bit sad that we were not able to go away somewhere this year but it was a beautiful week weather wise and Char and I got to hang out together. I even spent one day in my pjs just watching television. Why? Because I COULD!! Here are a few random photos from the week.

We went shopping and Target was one of our stops. I made Charlotte pose with the Target dog!!

The weather has been nice and my tulips have opened up. I LOVE spring!!

Charlotte had a costume fitting on Wednesday. The studio owner let the parents take photos of the girls all dressed up. She would kill me if she knew I revealed the costumes before the recital!!

One of our impulse buys at Target was this bow tie for Zack. Doesn't he look adorable?

I never take selfies but had to send a photo to my husband of my hair. I lightened it yesterday. One thing about dying your grays-you can go any color you want!! (Within reason!!)

I have been kind of quiet here on my blog as of late not because I have not been busy in my craft room but because I have been creating up a storm for a bunch of DT assignments. Next week there will be plenty of posts!!

However, I did want to post my cards that I created with Lawn Fawn's "Little Bundle" stamp and die set. I kind of became obsessed with using it.

My first card I used the stamps and dies to make a simple boy card.

One thing about this set is that I was able to use a TON of scraps.

I think my favorite thing about this card is the overalls!! I used Nuvo Gloss White Crystal Drops for the buttons and now I am obsessed with the stuff!!

For my second boy card, I used the new My Favorite Things "Blueprints 27" and the Lawn Fawn set to create the card.

Again, I utilized pattern paper scraps with the stamps for the clothes and the blanket.

I then made some baby girl cards. I have to give both sexes equal opportunity!!

LOVE the patterned paper I used for the background!! I am so bummed that Basic Grey is closing its doors!!

I did a little fussy cutting for the bow on the jumper.

For baby girl card #2, I stamped a background in pink with the images from "Little Bundle."

The tag was created using CHRISTMAS paper!! I have been trying to utilize my holiday paper for more then just what it was made for.

I am adding a third baby girl card that was the first card I created using the "Little Bundle" set but never posted.

I adore the gray paper I used for the background but alas, have no idea what company it is from. If I did, I would buy more. It is perfection!!

Again I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in "Red Berry" to create the buttons, as well as the trim on the sleeper.

Well, that is all for me today. Thank you for stopping by!! I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!!

SJ Kit Club Reveal, Freshly Made Sketches #230 and Sketch Saturday #406

Happy Sunday!! I hope you had a nice weekend. It has flown by way too fast for me.

Friday we picked up Chris' new truck, yesterday I went to a Robotics competition for Charlotte and today I have a wedding shower. I did fit in a bit of crafting time, though, as I had to get two cards done for some gifts!!

My cards for this post were made with a kit that I received from Jenny for the SJ Card Kit Club.

I am going to admit that I augmented this kit a lot with what I created. Since I needed what I made for my specific purpose, I totally cheated. That and my mojo has run away so I needed help!!

My first card I used Freshly Made Sketches #230 for my inspiration.

Here is my card:

I die cut the piece of green paper using MFT's Blueprints #13 and adhered it over a white card base. I then used PaperTrey Ink's Basic Bookmark #3 Die to cut out the white tag placed it in the middle of the green background.

I then die cut the umbrella from the flowered paper that was in Jenny's kit using the Paper Smooches Wedding Shower Dies.  I layered it over the white, using foam for some dimension. I used my umbrellas as the white piece from the sketch.

I then layered the little chick from the kit one the umbrella and added "baby" which I die cut out of blue card stock with PaperTrey Ink's Modern Alphabet Dies.

I then created the inside of the card using Lawn Fawn's "Little Bundle" stamps and dies.

I adhered this panel into the card after photographing. I always have such a difficult time photographing the inside of the card after I complete it!

For my second card, I used an older Retro Sketches sketch as my inspiration.

Here is my card:

I started by die cutting a white panel for the background and shading it with distress ink. I then adhered torn pieces of patterned paper that came with the kit. I masked and stamped an envelope at the bottom, as well as the sentiment. I then used foam adhesive to adhere the "happy mail" envelope that came with the kit and I colored with Copic markers. The last step was to adhere sequins.

My last card I created yesterday for the shower I have today. I used Sketch Saturday #406 as my inspiration.

I tweaked it a bit to make it my own, leaving the flower elements off and using the top of the bookmark die instead and only have one strip down the left side.

The background paper, which came from Jenny's kit, I misted with white, blush and primrose Colorshine. I then adhered it to a white background. I added a piece of pink glitter tape and a strip of green that I had left over from the background of the baby card on the left side of the background.

I die cut the white rectangle using an MFT die and adhered it over the front of the card, tucking the left over top of the bookmark die under it. I then die cut the sentiment and used glossy accents to give it a bit of dimension.

I die cut the umbrella from paper included in Jenny's kit using the Wedding Shower die from Paper Smooches. I adhered it to the card and used some Nuvo Apple Green crystal drops to give the middle of the umbrellas some polka dots. I covered the end of the umbrella in Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.

Well, that is all from me for today!! I hope you enjoyed these cards. Please hop on over to the SJ Card Kit Club Blog to see more from the ladies. Many are card newbies and would love you to stop by!!
