A Card for the Inspired By Challenge IB189

Happy Tuesday!!

It is still raining here in the Northeast. I guess it is typical during the fall but I want it to be nice so I can go apple picking!! I like to pick during the week to avoid all the crowds. I have a ton of farms that are minutes from my house that I pick it, depending on what type of apple I am looking for. My favorite are Macoun-what type is your favorite?

Speaking of apples, I am popping in with a card that I created for this weeks Inspired By Card Challenge. I got a package from Spellbinders last week with the *Welcome Fall cutting dies and I had to use them!!!

Below is the Inspired By Challenge IB189-All the Peels. My card was inspired by the basket on the badge and a bit by the sketch.

If I had actually looked at the badge closely, I should have die cut my basket out of grayer paper. I also could have added some of the filling that is below the apples as I have that in spades for gifts!! However, I was in a rush to get a bunch of cards done so my card is as it is.

I blended *Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for my background and used Tim Holtz Flickering Candle Distress Mica Stain before I added my die cuts. These colors were inspired by the card example on the package!! I always have more than one little something that inspires a card!

I LOVE this die set and have some ideas to use it with some Christmas branches next time!!!

The sentiment is from The Greetery.

Well, that is all from me today. I just wanted to get this out there. I haven't had a bunch of time lately and am flying by the seat of my pants!!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

CYCI#88 Challenge-Anything Goes

Happy Sunday!! It is a beautiful, fall day here in New England. What I would view as a "perfect" day, though I know others like the warmer weather. I like it crisp enough to have to wear a sweater and some socks!!

Today I am sharing a card that I created using scraps from the mess on my desk. I created this card for a challenge. I had made paper and then die cut leaves. I had the paper left and thought, why should I throw it out? Instead, I decided to use it to make a card.

The first thing I did to create this was to die cut two leaves from patterned paper scraps using Paper Trey Ink's "Leaf Silhouette" dies. I then die cut a mask and inked the leaves using Distress Ink.

I used an A2 sized "Soft Stone" card base and used a stencil with some soft stone ink on the background. I then stamped the sentiment.

I adhered some orange stripe pattered paper scrap onto the card front and the inked strip over it that. Next I used some foam adhesive to adhere the leaves. I then put a bit of sparkle with Wink of Stella over the leaves. My last step was to adhere some clear sequins to the card front.

I LOVE how this card turned out. It was one of the easiest I have ever made. I challenge you to use some scraps from your stash to make a card. I am entering this into CYCI#88-Anything Goes Challenge.

I want to apologize for my being behind on commenting. I have had a lot of stuff going on and it has impacted my computer time. I so hate that!! I know I won't be able to catch up but hopefully I will be able to stay on top of this weeks creations.

I hope you enjoy the rest of our day!

Time Out Challenge, Marker Pop!, NBUS Challenge and I want to be a Superstar!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you are all enjoying your day. Char and I have the day off for the Jewish holiday. I have had time to do things like go to the gym, have breakfast with Char and my father, and do some chores around the house. I could go for Mondays off all year!!

Today I am posting a card that I finished last night. I received my new My Favorite Things "Harvest Mouse" set this week and I had a chance to play with it yesterday. I am entering it into My Favorite Things "You Could be a Card Design Superstar"contest.

I made a "peek a boo" card with it. First I die cut a space on the card front. I then stamped the leaves, the second mouse and all the leaves. As I was doing this, I decided to leave the elements in the front just black and white. I wanted to use Copic markers to color and as this was basically a one layer card, I did not want the coloring to show through. My happy medium was to color the mouse that would be peeking from the inside of the card.

I stamped the mouse onto the die cut that I had cut from the front and used Copic markers to color him in. Isn't he cute? I did some "dot" coloring on him after I was finished. I used both Copic and gel markers for that. I have done it on my monsters that I have colored before but doing it here was an experiment. I am not sure how I feel about it.

When I finished coloring in the mouse, I adhered him to the inside of the card.

I then stamped a simple sentiment from the same set inside. I wasn't sure if I wanted to decorate the inside or not but decided I liked it simple and clean. I know that this kind of card I would write things on the inside and by leaving it clean, there is more room to do so.

Again, I am entering this into the My Favorite Things "You Could be a Card Superstar!" contest.

I am also entering this into Marker Pop!'s #77 Fall/Autumn Challenge. This is the first time I have ever entered a challenge here and it makes me nervous!!

Another challenge I am entering it into is Darnell's NBUS #5 Challenge. Since these stamps and dies are brand new, this counts!! (I think!) And am entering the Time Out Challenge #39-"Make Your Mark."

I don't usually enter so many challenges at once but this card just happens to fit the bill!! I thank you for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!!

Monthly Moments Trading Card-Paper Trey Ink 7th Anniversary Challenge

I have been having fun lurking through all the Paper Trey Ink blogs for their anniversary festivities this week. Unfortunately today is the first day I get to really play. So disappointing because I LOVE their fun challenges during the month of February.

Today's challenge was to create a Monthly Moment's Trading card. These trading cards are 3" by 4" in size. I had a really, really hard time with this. I do not do Project Life, though I have used some of the products on some of my regular scrapbooking pages. I didn't really want to make a journaling card but rather something that was more decorative. I have been doing a lot of Valentine's so I wanted to stay away from pink or red and anything with hearts in it. So I chose a fall themed card instead.

I decided to use the PTI Polka Dot Pumpkin stamp set and die for this project and to keep it as simple as possible. I stamped the "pumpkin" sentiment using orange zest ink and then the label in new leaf. I then used Jillibean Soup alphabet stickers for the word "patch."

Next I die cut and then stamped the pumpkin, the stem and leaves. Next I decided to use a technique I have been seeing in cards as of late. I twisted some jute through a glue dot and then layered the pumpkin over the jute. Last, I placed Lawn Fawn Sequins around the card.

I am happy with the way it came out and I have to decide whether I want to enter it into the swap or not that they are having in their forum. I would love to send it to someone but would have to make another because I made a mistake on one side and turned it over to stamp on the other side. You can kind of see it in the first photo. I am cheap like that!!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great night!!
