A Couple of Cards using New Supplies

Hi everyone!! I hope you are all having a great Monday morning.

I am planning on cleaning out a wardrobe in my bedroom today so that I can get rid of it. I am trying to clean out at least one closet/room a day while I am off for the summer. My craft room is LAST on the list though!!

I need to clean out the computer room upstairs first because my husband said I could move my craft room to this room because it bigger! I am so excited because I get to PAINT it too! Unfortunately, that is the catch all room and it holds more stuff than I even want to think about. I tried to clean out a corner yesterday and had to stop as it overwhelmed me.

Today I have a couple of cards for some challenges. I love challenges to jump start my creativity!! I also always try to comment on the DT's of these challenge blogs when I join because I think it is the right thing to do. I know people don't have a ton of time but I figure if I have the time to post a card, I need to leave some love for them. What do you think?

My first card I was inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketches #440.

Here is the FMS440 Sketch that inspired this card:

I used my new Pinwheel Party Stencil and Die from The Greetery to create the fun colored pinwheels on my card. I used Distress Ink that would match the pattern paper I chose to use.

The die cut alphabet is Pink Fresh Studio's Adore Alphabet the label die is Papertrey Ink.

This is not my favorite card but I don't hate it. I really struggled with the sketch, though I am not sure why. I was determined to do it, though!!

For my second card, I made a birthday card. I should have looked at some color challenges BUT I wanted to keep the card CAS so I chose to use basically red and white.

I had so much fun using the Birthday Palooza Stamp and Die set from Simon Says Stamp to create the candle border and the sentiment. I bought this set after the Online Card Class Spring Card Camp 2 after seeing some really stunning cards using this set.

The streamers are The Greetery's Twisted Crepe Dies. These are SO FUN and I can so see me using these on a TON of different cards.

I am going to enter this into Seize the Birthday Challenge-Anything GoesWWD276-Anything Goes with a Twist and the NBUS Challenge, as this is the first time I have used these products.

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. I am always happy when people see what I create.

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Hello! And a Few Challenge Cards

Hi everyone!! I hope you are all hanging in there.

I am on my fourth week of social distancing and working from home. We have done a pretty good job of not being at each other's throats. I am thinking this is because my husband, daughter and I hide in our corners during the day working and only really "socialize" at night.

I am going to admit, though, that this social distancing is starting to wear me down. I need to grocery shop and have been putting it off because I didn't have a mask. I spent about four hours yesterday making three-one for each of us. They are not fabulous BUT they will work. Lucky I had fabric hanging around as I got rid of a ton of it a couple years ago because I was not doing anything with it.

Given that I am going buggy, I have had mojo and have been using supplies that I have!!

My first card I created for my Aunt for her birthday, which was yesterday. Since I never sent it out, it is now late. I have a gift so I am going to the PO today when I go grocery shopping.

I LOVE how this came out!! I used the Canterbury Bells stamp set to stamp all of the flowers. The "make a wish" is from a Mama Elephant Mini Messages Stamp set.

I used green and yellow stamp sets of four to stamp the flower colors on the Canterbury flower and Copic markers to color in the small ones.

The background is a die from Lil' Inkers Design and the frame is Reverse Confetti's Stitched Note and Frames die.

I am entering this card into the following Challenges:
NBUS Challenge #13 (the flower set was never inked up!!)

For my second card, I again used the Altnew Canterbury Flowers but in purple to create my card.

I created a panel for the background with a NBUS stencil and green ink.

The sentiment was taken from the same set as the flower and heat embossed on black cardstock.

I covered the flowers with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen and added some sequins that matched the flower color.

The white embossed panel is also from the Reverse Confetti Stitched Note and Frame die.

I am entering this card in Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC266. Heidi picked it this week and it is All About Occasions. I am sending this as a birthday card. I also made it for the Time Out Challenge #159. It was to use the quote on the badge for your card. My inspiration was the garden.

I am also entering it into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which was to use the mood board below as inspiration. I was inspired by the purple flowers.

That is all from me today. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by my blog today. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day and I will be back tomorrow with some more spring cards I created!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #397 and Seize the Birthday

Hello everyone!!

Today I am posting a couple cards I have created. I apologize for the photos. I took my light box down because it was taking up too much room. However, my lighting has been off ever since so I think I am going to have to re-think this plan. I need to figure out lighting in general for my photos but just don't want to spend a lot of money!!

Anyway, the first card I created using this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #397 as my inspiration.

I actually flipped the sketch for my card, die cutting circle "windows" with MFT "Circle Trio Shaker Window" die.

I used Hello Bluebird "Silly Birds" stamp and matching die set for the birds, and colored them in using Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set and use foam adhesive to pop the white panel up.

I added the birds and fun elements and then used Glossy Accents, Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss and Stickles to kick up some elements in the scene. I wanted to use some google eyes on the birds but for the life of me, I couldn't find my stash. I hate when that happens!!

Supplies:
Paper: Neenah Solar White, Paper Trey Ink Limeade Ice
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, PaperTrey Ink Smokey Shadow
Stamps: Hello Bluebird "Silly Birds"
Dies: My Favorite Things "Circle Window Shaker Trio," Hello Bluebird "Silly Birds," Paper Trey Ink Bubble Talk

I am also going to enter this into this weeks Seize the Birthday Challenge.

For my second card, I created a Peek a Boo card. This was an experiment in making an interactive card. I watched a TON of videos on different kinds to make and this was the one I chose. I used Jennifer McGuire's directions from this VIDEO for the peek-a-boo part of the card.

I stenciled the balloons on using a Simon Says Stamps stencil. I then drew in strings with a Sakura marker

When you open the card, the little Mama Elephant Monkey pops in on top of a yellow balloon. I stamped a sentiment and added a little bird over the top.

It does not slide as nicely as I would have like but oh well!! It was an experiment and hopefully it will be better next time!!

Supplies:
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Twisted Citron, Ranger Squeezed Lemonade, MFT Boysenberry
Dies-MFT Pierced Circle and Bitty Bears
Stamps- MFT Bitty Bears, Memory Box Best Life Typewriter Sentiments, Mama Elephant Little Monkey Agenda

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!

Some Challenge Cards

Happy Sunday everyone!! This is my second post for today. Here is a link to my first post in case you want to peek.

I have had time in my craft room this week and FINALLY my mojo has kicked in a bit. It has been absent for a while-not sure why. However, on Friday night it came FLYING back so I took advantage of it while I could.

My first card was really by accident. I was trying to make a card for this weeks AAA Card Challenge #142 of making a one layer card with the option of using only black and white. One layer cards and I do not get along. I ALWAYS seem to get a smudge somewhere I don't want or make a mistake so I wind up having to do layers. Once again, that is what happened with this card!!

I made lemons out of lemonade, though, and used this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #392 as my inspiration, as well as Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All About Occasions.

I originally stamped the blocks from Altenew's "Dare to Dream" stamp set, intending on this being a one layer card. HOWEVER, as I said before, I messed it up. I had to cut the panel down and adhere to the card front.

This is not a HUGE deal but I hate when I make mistakes!!

The sentiments are from Altenew's "Label Love" stamp set, which I popped up off the card using foam adhesive.

I actually like this card and think when I have time I will make a few more but with a different color. I will also connect the blocks better!!

My second card I am posting today is one I created LAST week but never posted. I used Freshly Made Sketches #391 as my inspiration. By the time I was ready to post, the challenge had closed. I am not letting it get me down, though. I am going to enter it in to Seize the Birthday Challenge #167: Anything Goes.

Here is the card I created:

I had stamped and die cut a TON of Sugar Pea Design's "You're My Type" typewriters in tons of different colors and really wanted to use them.

I searched through my pile of pattern papers that are presently on my floor (don't ask) and found this piece that was PERFECT to use on a typewriter card.

I pulled the blue out of pattern paper to match with the cardstock piece at the top. I also added some sparkle pen and Glossy Accents to the typewriter.

I absolutely ADORE this stamp set/die set and cannot wait to use it again on something else!!

My last card I am posting is similar to my first one BUT is one layer!!! Again, I used Altenew's "Dare to Dream" and "Label Love" stamp sets to create it. An I masked the sentiment!!

I did have a boo boo on the lower right that I had to "erase" with a sand eraser. You can still see it but it isn't horrible.

I also was better at stamping the blocks in straight line on this card. Who knew I could actually accomplish it!!

I know that this is a fluke, though and will not be trying this again any time soon.

So I am going to enter this card into AAA Card Challenge #142, One layer with the added twist of black and white.

Well, that is all from me TODAY!!! Tune in tomorrow because I am posting some other cards I created for some other challenges and I actually did SOME COLORING!!! (Gasp!!)

Have a FABULOUS day!!!
