Day 3 of Twelve Days of Christmas Fun

Hello everyone!! I hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday.

Today I am showcasing a paper birdhouse ornament I created. I originally was going to make this for last month's Paper Trey Ink's November blog hop but didn't because I really didn't use that many PTI products on this. However, I don't care because I LOVE how this ornament came out.

To begin with, I cut Kraft card stock into two  4" by 8 1/2" pieces and then adhered the pieces together.  This probably wasn't necessary but I wanted to make sure that this ornament was as stable as I could make it. I then adhered a house template I had cut out on top of the Kraft paper using temporary adhesive. (Please see this post on Nichole Heady's blog for the template I used.)

Next, I cut the house out of the Kraft paper and, using a bone folder, I creased the areas where the dotted line was on the template.

I then took the template off the paper and inked the house using Vintage Photo ink.

My next step was to fold the house in the creased areas and glue it together. I then used a piece of wire that I had threaded through a bell and adhered the wire on the inside of the house. (I apologize for the photo. It was dark outside and the lighting isn't very good in my room. Also, this is not the house I made for the post but another one I put together.)

To create the roof, I cut out a 4" by 2" piece of patterned paper, punched the sides using a scalloped punch and then ran it through a paper crimper. I punched two holes in the top and laced a piece of jute through, knotting it on the bottom so that I wouldn't be able to see it.

I then adhered the roof on to the house. I cut another piece of patterned paper into a 2" by 2" square and adhered that to the bottom. Now that the house was together, the fun part was to start!!

I then die cut a piece of holly from green paper and adhered that over the bell, covering up a piece of the wire that was peeking out. I then used red Stickles glitter glue to create the berries. I set it aside for a little while to dry before I used embossing paste around the whole house to recreate "snow." Before the embossing paste was dry, I sprinkled fine glitter to give the ornament some holiday sparkle. The last step was to tie a green bow on top of the house.

I had so much fun creating this ornament that I cut out a few more to make and give away as gifts.
I wish I could find the little red birds I used to have to add to this house but I can't find them anywhere!! If you saw my craft room, this wouldn't surprise you, though.

Thank you for letting me share this project with you. Stop by tomorrow for a fun card!

Penny Black "Cold Nose Warn Heart" tag-Day 2 of Twelve Days of Christmas Christmas Fun

Today I am going to share another tag that I created. This time I used the Penny Black Stamp set "Cold Nose Warm Heart." They have a series of adorable little penguins in holiday poses.

I first stamped my penguin and colored it in using Copic markers. Next I die cut the image with My Favorite Thing's "Pierced Circle Stax." These are my new go to circle dies! I then layered the circle over a PTI die cut snowflake and tag.

My last step was to put tiny dots of Stickles glitter glue on the stamped snowflakes and embossing paste on the hat to make it look like fur. On the back of the tag, I put a "to" and "love" sentiment. I wasn't sure how much I would like this when I was putting it together but it is one of my favorites that I have made this weekend.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will return tomorrow for an ornament idea. Have a great day!

PaperTrey Ink Tremendous Treat Tags-Day 1 of Twelve Days of Christmas Fun

Happy December 1st! It is hard to believe that it is the last month of the year already. Time has FLOWN BY!! Christmas is just around the corner. Has everybody started their shopping? Mine is slow going. When Thanksgiving is so late, I have a hard time getting into my groove when it comes to shopping.

I have been busy over this Thanksgiving vacation making Christmas tags. I try to make my own tags every year. Some years I am more successful then others but this year I am on a roll. I have had a lot of fun die cutting and coloring stamped images. I am like a kid again!

I have decided to do twelve days of Christmas on my blog because I have made so many projects. Tags, cards and even an ornament or two. I will showcase some of these holiday projects each day for the next thirteen days. (I will take December 7th off with a special post about birthdays. That is my daughter, Char's birthday!!)

The first project I am sharing is a series of three tags. All are similar in design but since I get bored doing the same thing over and over, I mixed it up by switching out the colors. I used PTI's Tremendous Treat Stamps and Dies to create the little rein deer. I colored them in with Copic Markers and embellished them with different colored Stickles glitter glue.

I then used pop dots to layer the deer onto a white tag that I stamped with a sentiment and adhered glitter tape too.

My last step was to embellish the tags with different ribbons and some glittered jingle bells. I apologize for all the glitter that is coming off the tag in the photo above. I didn't notice that when I was photographing this!!

Aren't they cute? I think I am going to have a hard time using these tags on my presents. The tag above with the red is my favorite. What one do you like?

Thanks for stopping by today. Remember to check in tomorrow for another project.

"Wishes Come True" Paper Trey Ink

Just a quick upload for today. I made a card for my niece, Sydney. Her birthday was on the 23rd of October but we are celebrating with the family today. She is a character and always makes me laugh!

Isn't she beautiful? Since she turned 11, I used Paper Trey Ink's "Wishes Come True" set and made the number out of the candles. Purple is Syd's favorite color so I decided to use it as the main color for the card. I added some sequins and some orange Stickles to round it all out.

Thanks for looking. I hope you have a fabulous Saturday!!
