A couple cards for CASE This Sketch #252, Time Out Challenges and Merry Monday #269

Hello everyone!! Today I am just posting quick.

I created two Christmas cards for some challenges.

First, the layout of the card was inspired by the sketch below from CASE this Sketch:

Instead of the circle, I used the poinsettia as the focal point on both cards, along with some pine boughs and mistletoe.

The colors that I was inspired by came from two sources. One is the image from TIME OUT Challenge #98and the second is three colors from the Merry Monday image #269. I think you can see what inspired me from both.

Here is a close up of both. I used the same poinsettia that I used on yesterdays card. I die cut a few to get rid of some scraps.

I also used two different sentiments on each card but both were heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

That is all from me today!! I thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Just Add Ink Challenge #390

Happy Friday!! It feels like winter today-the temp being 9 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. We are also getting some snow tonight as well and it is the perfect time to be holed up getting Christmas cards ready to mail. (I am a little behind this year! 😓)

Today I am sharing a card I created last night for the Just Add Ink Challenge #390. I have been doing everything to avoid getting my Christmas cards written out!!

The sketch below is what inspired my card.
My whole card was designed around the poinsettia that I had die cut a couple nights before. I had NEVER used this die and decided it was about time that I did!

The paper I used was something I have had for over a year too. I have SO MANY 6" by 6" pads of Christmas paper and have been hoarding for no reason. It was about time that I cut into it.

The sentiment is a sticker that I actually bought this year and fit perfect with the colors in the paper. That NEVER happens and was so happy that I didn't have to stamp or emboss anything!!

Well that is all from me today. Stay warm!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Chanukah with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hello everyone!! Today it is my turn on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog.

Since Chanukah started this week, I created a card to celebrate this holiday by using two sets of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps-"Star of David" and "Chanukah."

The first step for my card was to heat emboss the sentiment from "Chanukah" with platinum embossing powder.

Next I created my pattern paper using the stars from the "Star of David" set. I layered my stars in no specific order onto my white card stock and used a MISTI tool for the stamping. I always have a lot of fun making patterned paper and this stamp set is perfect for it. The stars are in four different sizes and can cover quite a bit of background.

I chose to use a soft blue ink for the patterned paper because I was using a soft blue embossing powder to make some solid blue areas when I put the card together.

I trimmed my stamped background into a 3" by 5 1/2" piece. I then cut a 1 1/2" piece off, taped the top off so 1/4" of it was showing and smeared clear ink along the top.

I then heat embossed it with powder that matched the dye ink I used. I adhered this piece to my A2 card base so the the solid line was under the sentiment.

I repeated the trimming the paper and heat embossing a section of patterned paper two more times and adhered the pieces to the card.

My last step was to adhere platinum and blue gems randomly around the sentiment.

I hope this card inspires you to make some stamped paper yourself. If you feel like getting yourself an early Christmas present, use my code nora2017 to get 15% your total order at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a GREAT day!!

Accountability and Hoarding Supplies

Hello everyone!! Happy Friday!

I have been doing a lot of soul searching in my crafting endeavors and trying to come up with ways to use my STUFF. Right now my room is a mess. I am going to post some photos below that I took last night to show you what a hoarder I have become.

This is the floor around my desk:

This is part of my desk where I have started working:

This is my "coloring station" where I use my different markers.

Can you see what a MESS my space is currently? And I am not even showing you the whole room!!

Anyway, I am posting these to make myself accountable. I need to clean up my supplies so I can USE them. (And when I talk about using the stuff on my desk-this is why I have so many choices!!) You would think that my room being like this would make me NOT want to craft, right? WRONG!! I just push it aside and carry on. I cannot do it anymore, though.

So here is to being accountable and not being such a hoarder!!

Thanks for stopping by and looking at "my mess." Have a FABULOUS Friday!!

Happy Birthday Charlotte!!

Just popping in today to wish my daughter, Charlotte, a Happy 17th Birthday.

Charlotte always complains that I never make her a home made card designed JUST FOR HER so I created a quick card last night in honor of her birthday. Yup, I am the shoemaker whose kids have no shoes!!!

I used My Favorite Things "Happy Hippos" to create my card.

The design was extremely simple so I could make this in a jiffy. I stamped the hippo and bird from the set and used Copics to color them in.

I added a die cut orange hat on the hippo that I did some doodling on.

The speech bubble is from Simon Says Stamp "Talk Bubbles," which is now retired.

Here are a few photos from Charlotte's senior photo shoot in October:

I cannot believe she is graduating!! Where has the time gone?

I want to thank you for stopping by!! Have a great day!!
