Time to Party with CAS(E) This Sketch #287 and Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes"

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope all you Americans are enjoying your day off. I can smell the short ribs right now that my husband is smoking on the deck.

I have been working on cleaning up my room today and getting some projects done. I used the scraps on my desk to make the card below for CAS(E) this Sketch #287.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card:

I stamped the border using Mama Elephant's "Swinging Borders" set on a diagonal. I colored in the banner using yellow, green and purple Copic markers.

Instead of using a rectangle piece of paper, I decided to just use the hippo image and balloons from My Favorite Things "Happy Hippos" stamp set.

I added clear sparkle marker over the banner and used Glossy Accents over the balloon.

I am also entering this into the Seize The Birthday "Anything Goes" challenge.

While doing all of this, I have been watching some interesting movies on human trafficking. It DOES NOT only go on in other countries but right here in the USA-Dallas, Houston, New Orleans are just a few of the BIG cities. Amazon Prime has a fictitious movie that I viewed and then I watched the documentary "Stopping Traffic." It is truly disturbing but we need to stop this!!!

Anyway, I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a fabulous night!!

Epic Fail for CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #286, My Entry for CAS(E) this Sketch and Less is More Challenge Entry #2

Good morning friends!!

I hope you all are having a nice morning. I am getting ready to go to a picnic later. Made Whoopie pies as my contribution and looking forward to seeing some old co-workers.

Today I am posting three cards. The first is a card that I made to send to my daughter at college. One of her nicknames is "monkey" so I used Mama Elephants "Monkey Agenda" and the "Swinging Borders" stamp. I used CAS(E) this Sketch #286 as my inspiration.

However, then I messed up. I stamped the sentiment crooked and I had to improvise by covering it up. This made me place the monkey in a place I wasn't planning to place it. I needed this card so there was NO WAY I was throwing it out!!

The leaves were colored in with *Copic Markers and then used a *Tonic Clear Sparkle Marker over them.

I then used some *Glossy Accents over the banana.

So due to my mistake, I created ANOTHER card for my entry to CAS(E) this Sketch #286.

Once again, I switched it up and am hoping it is okay. Instead of a HUGE sentiment, I used the Mama Elephant "Swinging Borders" stamp and then a tiny My Favorite Things smile sentiment from the "All Smiles"stamp set.

I then used a monkey for the shape on the side of the sketch.

I chose to color in the leaves darker then my first card.

I also covered the leaves in with a *Tonic Clear Gloss Marker and *Glossy Accents.

My next card I created using the Less is More Challenge #378 as my inspiration.

I used the DoCrafts *"Moroccan Tiles" die for my squares.

I die used some of the cuts inside the squares for the flowers.

The hearts were die cut using CAS-ual Friday Stamps *"Fun-Fetti Fri-dies." I used sparkle marker and glossy accents over them to give them some shine.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things "Bitty Bears" stamp set.

Well that is all for me today. I am off to walk with a friend. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Less is More Challenge #378

Happy Friday!! I have been having fun in my craft room the last couple days. I have been using NBUS (Never Before Use Stuff-acronym coined by Darnell) that has been collecting dust.

My first card I kept it really simple. I used Docrafts *"Moroccan Tiles" dies to cut out scrap pieces.

My inspiration was from the Less is More Challenge #378, Sketch 24. It was to use the sketch below as my inspiration.

I then used the smallest square die in the *Umbrella Crafts Nested Squares die set to die cut four squares to go under the decorative die cuts.

I layered the squares over the kraft A2 card front and then adhered a My Favorite Things banner sentiment in the middle.

I really like how this came out and cannot wait to use the other dies in the *"Moroccan Tiles" die set.

My second card is a baby card that I made with Lawn Fawn's *"Little Bundle" stamp and die set for my cousin. He and his wife had a beautiful little girl.

I created the background by shading *"Tumbled Glass" Distress Ink and using Copic markers for grass.

The little clothes were die cut from scraps of patterned paper and then I used Nuvo Crystal drops for the buttons.

Well that is all for me tonight. I hope you all have a fabulous night!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Twofer Card Challenge #8: Geometrics

Happy Thursday everyone!!

This is my second post for the day. My first post is here with a sneak peek of a card I made for the todays post on CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I created the two cards below yesterday and wanted to post them in time for the Twofer Card Challenge #8: Geometric.

My first card was inspired by a card from this post from Anna Kossakovskaya blog. I of course used different colors and added my own touches because I never can copy a design totally.

I changed the background on my card using a stenciled mono print technique so I could join the CAS Mix it Up Challenge and AAA Challenge too. However, my card is not that clean and simple but oh well. I added the stenciled layer to a brown, A2 card base.

I shaded the *Altenew "Shattered Triangle" die cuts with three colors of Distress Ink-*Antique Linen, *Walnut Stain and *Vintage Photo, and adhered the layers to over my patterned layer.

I added sequins and a sentiment from the *Altnew "Label Love" set to finish off my card. I also went over the colors of the triangle with a *sparkle pen but it is difficult to see in my photo.

For my second card, I die cut the triangles and made them into a Christmas tree.

I added some rhinestones in gold and red over the tree, as well as a star from my scrap pile. The sentiment is Mama Elephant's "Merry Greetings" stamp set.

I added the little mouse that I had colored ages ago and was in my stash because the card "needed" something else.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have a FABULOUS night!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Edited to note that I won an honorable mention from the Twofer Card Challenge for these cards!! I am so excited!!!
