A Couple of Challenges

Hey Peeps!! This is my second post for today. My first post was for a sneak peek of the NEW CAS-ual Fridays Huggable Critters Release. This post is to showcase a couple of cards I created yesterday for some challenges.

For my first card, I created a card for CASE this Sketch #314.

This is the sketch that inspired me is below and I am also entering this into the Flower Challenge #30: Anything Goes.

The beauty of this card was the flowers were already stamped and embossed and I didn't have to do much!! Am I the only one that makes "extras" when they do a project? I have so many that I challenged myself to use them on both my cards!!

The flowers are from Simon Says Stamp, the leaves are Paper Smooches. The background paper is from Bobunny's Harmony Collection that I just received from Scrapbook.com.

I used Nuvo Crystal Drops for the center of my flowers. The thing about not having to stamp things is that the card comes together so fast!!

For my second card, I used Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #380 as my jumping off point, as well as Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: CUTE and Seize the Birthday's: Anything Goes to create my card.

I had the most fun making this card because I went through all the little bits that I colored and have never used.

The little banners are from MFT's Blueprints 27 and I used a long paper strip that was in my scrap drawer.

I had to use a pencil and a ruler to line all the banners up, something I really do not like to do. I am a do-everything-by-eye type of person but for this card, you could not do that.

I then took the images and kind of played with where I wanted them. I adhered them over the banenrs using foam adhesive.

My last step was to use a Nuvo Crystal Clear Glitter Gloss pen over selective elements on each image and then cover that element with Glossy Accents.

I am SO HAPPY with how this card came out that I think I might make another one!!

I thank you all for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps March Release Day 1-Huggable Critters

Hello everyone!! Today is the first day of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release!! I am so excited to introduce the Huggable Critters Fri-dies that contain a matching stamp set for the features. With this one die set, you can create a dog, a rabbit, a cat and a bear. The best part about it is you can tuck a gift card in their hands if you want to.

I chose to create a dog and instead of a gift card, I tucked in a heart with a sentiment from the Somebunny stamp set.

I started off by die cutting the pieces of the dog from white cardstock. I then created a mask with printer paper and a circle die from the Ornament Fri-dies to blend gray ink randomly over areas of the dog, as well as blending gray on the ears and the tail.

Next I stamped the footprints and the nose with black dye ink. The nose I stamped is for the bunny but I had done all this work and was not going to start over!!

I assembled the dog, adhering the body first, onto a white card base that I had misted with primary colored mist. I used foam adhesive on the bottom and left paw so I could tuck the heart under it.

I then adhered the google eyes and covered the nose with black glitter glue.

Here is a peek at what comes in the Huggable Critters Fri-die set (photo of stamps not shown):

This little critter was SO FUN to put together!! If you are interested in purchasing Huggable Critters, it is available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store NOW in the NEW section. Use the code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.

Another Creative Weekend

Hi everyone!! I am popping back on to the blog to show case a few more cards I created this weekend. That is two in a row where I ACTUALLY HAD MOJO!! Whoot Whoot!! It happens so rarely with me that it makes me giddy.

That said, I also need time to clean my craft room. It looks like a tornado came into my room and there is stuff EVERYWHERE!!

Onto my cards!! The first card I used the Addicted to CAS Challenge #157- Fluffy, as my jumping off point for my card.

I am hoping that this card is clean and simple enough to even participate in this challenge!! I used Copic markers to color in this adorable panda from Gerda Steiner Designs "Lovely Panda" set.

I experimented in trying to make the bear look fluffy by using tiny flicks with my marker. I am actually happy with the way it turned out.

The sentiment is not how I originally planned it. I wanted it to be right on the card front BUT when I stamped it, I got distracted and it came out crooked. I hate to throw anything away so I just added a card strip with the sentiment on it over the top of my mistake.

I am entering this into the Addicted to CAS Challenge, as well as Just Us Girl's Challenge, Birthday and Seize the Birthday Challenge, no topping.

For my next card, I used the quilt from the "Inspired by" Challenge and the butterflies from The Paper Players Spring Theme challenge as my starting off point.

The great thing about this card is all the paper strips I die cut for the front were SCRAPS from my drawer!!

I could see this as a strip quilt, couldn't you? It was so fun to make that I cut more strips from the same papers to create another card but have not gotten around to that yet.

The butterfly and the doily were even left overs from another project. I always stamp or die cut more then I need because I am a person whom makes MANY mistakes.

I just stamped this today and I cannot even tell you what stamp I used for the sentiment. I have so many sets everywhere that I cannot find it!!

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit me today. I hope you all have a FABULOUS night!!

A Couple of Challenge Cards

Hello everyone!! Just popping in to post a couple of challenge cards I created this afternoon. It is the second weekend in a row that I have not only had time but ideas for some of the challenges.

My first card I created for Freshly Made Sketches #377 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Anything Goes.

I started off by literally flicking on three colors of mist on a white, top folding, A2 card front. Then I added an orange circle and a peachy colored square, mimicking the placement from the sketch below.
Then I added some orange roses and some greenery, which are from Altenew's "Vintage Rose" stamp set. Last week I had stamped a BUNCH of these roses in three different colors and put them aside to use on future cards.

My last step was to add some orange confetti randomly around the flowers.

Where did the orange come in from then? It was from a photo from Pinterest that was a challenge on a private FB page I belong to.

My second card I created is for CASE this Sketch #311.

I used a stamp by Gorjuss which I have had FOREVER!! I used Copic markers to color it in and then used a get well sentiment from WPlus9's "Get Well Gang"stamp set on the the bag label.

I die cut the little girl using an MFT die and popped the middle up using foam.

This is a pretty simple design but I really wanted to emphasize the image rather then use any pattern papers. I added several moonstone confetti sequins around the image for a little bling.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS night!!
