Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #397 and Seize the Birthday

Hello everyone!!

Today I am posting a couple cards I have created. I apologize for the photos. I took my light box down because it was taking up too much room. However, my lighting has been off ever since so I think I am going to have to re-think this plan. I need to figure out lighting in general for my photos but just don't want to spend a lot of money!!

Anyway, the first card I created using this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #397 as my inspiration.

I actually flipped the sketch for my card, die cutting circle "windows" with MFT "Circle Trio Shaker Window" die.

I used Hello Bluebird "Silly Birds" stamp and matching die set for the birds, and colored them in using Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set and use foam adhesive to pop the white panel up.

I added the birds and fun elements and then used Glossy Accents, Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss and Stickles to kick up some elements in the scene. I wanted to use some google eyes on the birds but for the life of me, I couldn't find my stash. I hate when that happens!!

Supplies:
Paper: Neenah Solar White, Paper Trey Ink Limeade Ice
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, PaperTrey Ink Smokey Shadow
Stamps: Hello Bluebird "Silly Birds"
Dies: My Favorite Things "Circle Window Shaker Trio," Hello Bluebird "Silly Birds," Paper Trey Ink Bubble Talk

I am also going to enter this into this weeks Seize the Birthday Challenge.

For my second card, I created a Peek a Boo card. This was an experiment in making an interactive card. I watched a TON of videos on different kinds to make and this was the one I chose. I used Jennifer McGuire's directions from this VIDEO for the peek-a-boo part of the card.

I stenciled the balloons on using a Simon Says Stamps stencil. I then drew in strings with a Sakura marker

When you open the card, the little Mama Elephant Monkey pops in on top of a yellow balloon. I stamped a sentiment and added a little bird over the top.

It does not slide as nicely as I would have like but oh well!! It was an experiment and hopefully it will be better next time!!

Supplies:
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Twisted Citron, Ranger Squeezed Lemonade, MFT Boysenberry
Dies-MFT Pierced Circle and Bitty Bears
Stamps- MFT Bitty Bears, Memory Box Best Life Typewriter Sentiments, Mama Elephant Little Monkey Agenda

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!

Twofer Challenge #18

Happy Wednesday!!

I missed making cards when I was away on vacation and have been itching to do so. I am not sure if it was due to jet lag or what, but I caught something and have been sick for the last week or so. While I was sick, I didn't feel like creating BUT I did a lot of shopping. Shhh...don't tell my husband!! I have had a lot of crafty packages come in the mail over the week and finally felt healthy enough to use them yesterday!!!

I knew when I saw the theme for the Twofer Challenge that I had to participate.

The theme this month was "garden."

I created two cards using NBUS "Sweet Berries" stamp set from Clearly Besotted and my newly acquired "Label Black" from the Ink Blot Shop for my two cards.

Can I tell you how much fun I had coloring these raspberry images? I did a bit of research on what Copic colors to use and took some photos while I was coloring to show you the colors I used.

The first color set was the berries:

Then the flowers:

And the leaves were the last thing I colored in. I actually did a bit of under coloring with a B34 for shadowing and I was amazed at how it came out!!

For my first card, I stamped the raspberry image, colored it in and used the matching die cut to cut it out.

Underneath my berries I used the Geometric Circles stencil from Neat and Tangled with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I then layered the Fab Frame from Paper Smooches that I had die cut from Neenah Solar White cardstock.

I popped the berries up with foam adhesive and used foam adhesive under the sentiments as well.

My last step for all the cards on my blog took hours. I added Glossy Accents over each part of the berry, doing every other section, letting it dry, then doing another section. I wanted it to feel like a real raspberry when you touched it. It came out REALLY cool!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Ink Blot Shop "Label Black," Clearly Besotted "Sweet Berries"
Ink: Ranger Dusty Concord Distres Ink, Memento Tuxedo Black
Dies: Paper Smooches "Fab Frames," Clearly Besotted "Sweet Berries"
Other: Neat and Tangled "Geometric Circles," Copic Markers, Glossy Accents, Foam Adhesive, Sizzix Big Shot

For my second card, I colored in a white panel of Neenah that I had stamped the berries on.

I was originally going to make one card from this panel but I couldn't figure out how I would put the sentiment on it so I cut it up and made TWO cards out of it. Yup, so I actually made THREE cards but since the third card is also a birthday card, I am considering it a bonus!!!

I used an old Fiskars Scallop punch to add a black scalloped border on the colored panel and adhered it onto a card front that was covered in My Favorite Things patterned paper.

I added the die cut sentiment, which I die cut out of black three times and layered it together. I then used foam adhesive on the sentiment strip.

I added a few sequins and then did the Glossy Accent treatment on the berries.

Supplies:
Stamps: Ink Blot Shop "Label Black," Clearly Besotted "Sweet Berries"
Paper: Neenah Solar White, My Favorite Things Black and White Stripes
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Dies: Clearly Besotted "Sweet Berries," My Favorite Things Hugs
Other: Neat and Tangled "Geometric Circles," Copic Markers, Glossy AccentsSequins, Foam Adhesive, Sizzix Big Shot, Fiskars Scallop Punch

Now for my bonus card!!!

I used the other part of the panel from my second card and laid it over a wine colored card base.

I used a bit of striped paper at the top for a border. I used foam adhesive for the sentiments and added some sequins.

Again I did the Glossy Accent treatment to the berries. I think you can tell from the photo above how it looks.

Supplies:
Stamps: Ink Blot Shop "Label Black," Clearly Besotted "Sweet Berries"
Paper: Neenah Solar White, My Favorite Things Black and White Stripes, Wine Cardstock
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Dies: Clearly Besotted "Sweet Berries," My Favorite Things Hugs
Other: Neat and Tangled "Geometric Circles," Copic Markers, Glossy AccentsSequins, Foam Adhesive, Sizzix Big Shot

Well, that is all from me today. I had a BLAST with this challenge and so much fun coloring and creating these cards.

I hope you have a FABULOUS night!!

A Flip, Flap Card and A Video Experiment

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

I had to check my watch to see if I had the right day today. I got home Friday from a fourteen day trip to Ireland and I am still acclimating to this time zone. I am waking up early, which helps me to get things done, but I still trying to figure out the days of the week. I won't post about my trip today but will be doing a post sometime this week. Still processing it all.

Today I am popping in with a card I created as an experiment. I have been watching YouTube videos on interactive cards the last couple days and I wanted to give it a try. My first creation is a Flip Flap card and I even created a little video to show you the card in action at the end of all my photos.

I am not going to give you a step by step as I am NOT an expert. I still haven't even stamped a "pull" instruction on my little tag but was so excited that it worked that I had to post!!

Anyway, this is the outside of my card. I actually started off the whole thing with the martini die cut. I had it all put together in my stash and I wanted to use it on a card.

I think my favorite part of the front is that I used some Glossy Accents to mimic the alcohol in the glass!! I could change the color to make it a different drink next time. Perhaps a Lemon Drop????

When you pull the little tag on the side, the front opens up to a snarky sentiment.

I used a sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Shenanigans" stamp set on the inside. I am the oldest of all my friends so this will be sent to someone this summer!!

Okay, I am attempting to input the video below. PLEASE let me know if you can view this!!

I want to start doing videos and this was an easy way to see if I could do it. Not professional by any means but it is a start!! I will also admit that the green is more accurate in the photos rather than the video. Sorry about that.

I am entering this into Just Us Girls Challenge #495 which is a "smile" word challenge. I think this card would make someone smile, don't you? I will also be entering this into Seize the Birthday, with no topping.

Please let me know what you think!! I thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Finding Inspiration at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Hi everyone!! Today is my turn over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog.

I created a card that was inspired by just a few of the photos that I took of beautiful hydrangea bushes across the Irish countryside over the past two weeks.

Below is a sneak peek of the card I created:

Hop on over to my post to see the full card and a photo tutorial on how I created this!

Have a FABULOUS Tuesday!!

CAS-ual Fridays June 2019 Release Day 4

Hello everyone!! Today is the last day of sneak peeks of the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release.

I have to admit that the new Heart A2 Panel Fri-die is my FAVORITE out of this new release. I can see me using this for all sorts of cards-from birthday to sympathy. For today's post, I created a simple hello card.

The first thing I thought about when I saw this die was it screamed 1970's to me. I don't know why but it did. I used the new Heart A2 Panel Fri-die to die cut three panels of bright cardstock that I associate with this era. I then adhered the die cut panels together, staggering them so the color below would peek out, and then cut off the extra cardstock at the edges.

Next I adhered the die cut over a kraft colored, A2 card base and added a "hello" sentiment that was die cut using the Sweet Friend Fri-dies.

I covered the sentiment with clear sparkle pen and Glossy Accents to give it a bit of sparkle.

The new Heart A2 Panel Fri-die, along with the rest of the release is available now in the NEW section of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store. Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.

For more inspiration, hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog to see what the other designers came up with.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS day!!
