Saturday with My Favorite Things

Hello friends!! It is Saturday here in blog land. I meant to be a better blogger and crafter this year but this first week back to work after the holidays KICKED MY BUTT!!! Between shuttling Charlotte around for her activities, getting back to a gym routine and doctor appointments, by the time I got home and ate dinner, all I felt like doing was stumbling to the couch and relaxing in front of the television. I don't know how all of you keep up your crafting with your hectic schedules!!

Today I am sharing two cards with you that I created last week but was too tired to post.

I created the first with the other two sympathy cards I made last week using My Favorite Things "Fall Florals" stamp and die set. Once again I utilized purple and gray as my color scheme.

I created the background by stamping the "Etched Flower" stamp in white. I love how it looks on the purple. Not too bright but enough to be seen!!

I added silver Stickles on top of my silver sequins to give a touch of shine to this card.

On a different note, here is another card I created last weekend using the "Hug in a Mug" stamp and die set from My Favorite Things.

I cannot tell you how happy this card makes me!!! I stamped the background with the "Canvas" stamp by Hero Arts in gray. I blended Vintage Photo ink on the whip cream and then misted it with water to get the look I wanted.

Now I am craving some hot chocolate!!

Thank you for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

  2. Hi Nora! LOve that etched floral b.g. stamp! You are so right about it looking gorgeous on that purple! The sentiment is so true, and lovely. I'm clinking my coffee cup to your cocoa!! You have me yearning to dust off my background stamps - don't be surprised if they show up this week!

  4. What a gorgeous pair of cards Nora. Your hot chocolate has such a wonderful looking topping that I would have to take a spoon to it! The first card is is so classic with the beautiful background stamping and touching sentiment. I sadly had to use my last sympathy card this week so I need to make a couple more to have in my stash. Great job and tfs.

  6. Sympathy cards are so hard to do - yours is perfect. I love the soft colors and the white pattern in the background add so much. LOVE the mug too - that polka-dotted ring makes it pop!

  8. They're both gorgeous, but I LOVE the hot chocolate card! I really wish they made frame dies for our international sized papers - yours always round your cards off so perfectly.
