Happy Valentines Day!! I hope you are all enjoying this Hallmark holiday.
I was presented with the nicest Valentine from Charlotte with some candy and my husband brought me home some beautiful flowers. I know that many do not celebrate this day but we always do. Just kind of fun. Charlotte-who is a senior in HS-celebrated it by giving her friends Valentines. The kids at work were running around with pink and red gift bags.
Today I am posting my Valentine's that I created for the Twofer Challenge #2, which is hearts.
I used the Simon Says Stamp "Stacked Hearts" die for the repeated product, with some Doodlebug "So Punny" die cuts for my cards.
I started by using Brusho "Rose Red" on watercolor paper. When it dried, I die cut it using the "Stacked Hearts" die.
I layered the hearts over some Kraft polka dot paper that I had die cut. I then adhered the Kraft over a red A2 card base. Then I popped some of the hearts inside the die cuts.
I then adhered the olives and the sentiment die cuts over the front. I used a bit of glossy accents to the pimento part of the olive and some google eyes.
For my second card, I used the stacked hearts but used white paper.
I actually cut the die cut apart and placed it on my card. I then added back some of the white hearts and also some of the hearts from the red die cut.
I added the die cuts to the card front and added some google eyes.
My last touch was to cover the red hearts in clear sparkle pen and glossy accents.
I am entering these into the Twofer challenge, AAA cards CAS #108 "All You Need is Love" challenge, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Add a Die Cut.
I thank you for stopping by!!! Have a wonderful night!!

ReplyDeleteGreat heart die and those googly eyes are so much fun. Thanks for playing along with the current AAA Cards Challenge.
ReplyDeleteCute!! I love those random hearts behind the charming little die cuts!!
ReplyDeleteThese are two super fun Valentines, Nora! I love how you changed up your hearts with watercoloring vs. white/red paper. Those glossy pimentos and hearts and the goggle eyes are great details! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteCute, fun and so adorable, Nora ... each one is wonderfully detailed ... those googly eyes on the olive and on the light bulb are especially fab! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteNora, these are both adorable and so romantically fun! Reading through your post was like reading the poetry of card art! Each little step was a line of the stanza pointing out each lovely small detail that takes these cards to the next level! Adding back in some of the hearts in the die cut, but not all; adding red ones in the white die cut and glossing them; adding eyes and gloss to Mr. and Mrs. Martini Olive and to Mr. Light Bulb; and using a conversation bubble on the second card rather than just stamping the sediment onto the card ... I always learn so much from you!! Thank you for rocking Twofer Card Challenge #2!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWonderful card designs using the same heart die.
