A Few Challenges

(Disclaimer-Affiliate Links are used in this post, when possible, at no extra cost to you.)

Hi everyone!! It has been quiet once again on my blog. I have been taking a bit of an internet break this month. Charlotte went back to school last Sunday so I spent as much time as I could with her while she was home.

Today I have two cards that I using CASE this Sketch #305 as my inspiration.

My first card I kept closely to the sketch design. I tried to use as many NBUS (Never Been Used Schtuff-Acronym by Darnell) that I bought in December for myself.

I started by embossing with the Lawn Fawn Quilted Background die onto white Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched 4 Bar Rectangle dies so I would have an outlined stitch around the outside edge.

I then adhered this to an A2 sized card base. I added a Simon Says Stamp Outline Clustered Leaves die cut that I had cut out of mirrored green cardstock.

I added a PTI sentiment strip that I had stamped a Simon Says Stamp using the Happy Thoughts stamp set.

This card I am entering in the CASE this Sketch #305 and As You See It Challenge #192 Metallics.

My second card I kind of went a different route. Instead of a leaf cluster, I decided to do a border of stamped hearts in different colors and sizes.

I used Simon Says Stamp's Tons of Hearts stamp set for the hearts and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Breakfast Buddies set.

This is kind of a non-traditional colored Valentine but I wanted to mix oranges and pinks together. It was a dreary, snowy day yesterday and these colors made me happy. I added some mirrored sequins to finish it off.

I am entering this into CASE this Sketch Challenge #305 too, as well as Uniko's January/February Challenge #51 Anything Goes with a twist of Love  and Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Clean and Simple.

That is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!

  2. Really gorgeous takes on the CTS, Nora! I have that large wonderful leaf in my own NBUS (thank you for the shout-out!) and I love how you have used it with the interesting quilted background and simple sediment! I also love your pretty orange and pink waterfall of hearts on your Valentine! Happy colors are important on dreary gray days, especially when you're missing Charlotte! Huge hugs, Darnell
