Hey Peeps!! This is my second post for today. My first post was for a sneak peek of the NEW CAS-ual Fridays Huggable Critters Release. This post is to showcase a couple of cards I created yesterday for some challenges.
For my first card, I created a card for CASE this Sketch #314.
This is the sketch that inspired me is below and I am also entering this into the Flower Challenge #30: Anything Goes.
The beauty of this card was the flowers were already stamped and embossed and I didn't have to do much!! Am I the only one that makes "extras" when they do a project? I have so many that I challenged myself to use them on both my cards!!
The flowers are from Simon Says Stamp, the leaves are Paper Smooches. The background paper is from Bobunny's Harmony Collection that I just received from Scrapbook.com.
I used Nuvo Crystal Drops for the center of my flowers. The thing about not having to stamp things is that the card comes together so fast!!
For my second card, I used Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #380 as my jumping off point, as well as Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: CUTE and Seize the Birthday's: Anything Goes to create my card.
I had the most fun making this card because I went through all the little bits that I colored and have never used.
The little banners are from MFT's Blueprints 27 and I used a long paper strip that was in my scrap drawer.
I had to use a pencil and a ruler to line all the banners up, something I really do not like to do. I am a do-everything-by-eye type of person but for this card, you could not do that.
I then took the images and kind of played with where I wanted them. I adhered them over the banenrs using foam adhesive.
My last step was to use a Nuvo Crystal Clear Glitter Gloss pen over selective elements on each image and then cover that element with Glossy Accents.
I am SO HAPPY with how this card came out that I think I might make another one!!

Oh goodness are those vellum blooms ever PRETTY! Love all of the little cuties on the second card too. These are wonderful Nora!
ReplyDeleteI love your twofers, Nora! Your soft vellum flower is so elegant and feminine on that chic scalloped background and minty card base! And your grid card is so colorful and fun! It looks like it would be a super game board! As for making extras, my problem is just the opposite and I'm always wishing I had extras around for a quick card instead of having to start from scratch each time. This year I'm trying to change that and doing lots better at it! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThe ombre banner grid is such a perfect background for all the little images! Terrific card - I'm so glad you played along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteI love both of these so much! The flowers cut from vellum are so beautiful and the other birthday card is so adorable! Thanks for playing along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch and Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful design! Love your soft colors and vellum.
