Hello everyone!! I hope you are all having a FABULOUS day!!
Today I am a the guest designer for this months Twofer Card Challenge.
This month the challenge is "critters."
I created a birthday card and a Christmas card for my cards. I used a mouse from Hello Bluebirds "Field Mice" as my repeat critter. The mouse on the left is the same mouse but colored in a different color for each card.
Here are the rules for the challenge:
For the birthday card I used Distress Ink in Twisted Citron for the grass and Tumbled Glass for the sky.
All the small details, like the butterfly, hats, flowers and the cupcake are small stamps from different stamp sets that I combed through to make my scene.
The grass was a stencil I created using an MFT die that I had. I used a craft knife to cut into it in two places to tuck the feet of the mice under it.
The finishing touches are using Glossy Accents on the balloon and hats, and Stickles glitter glue in a variety of colors.
For my second card I created a Christmas card.
I layered different patterned papers from Basic Grey and Prima. I added some snowflakes that were "extras" from a previous project that I tucked behind a pre-made Prima tag.
The "Merry" sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp that was another "extra" in my stash, that was already colored in. I used Antique Linen Distress Ink on all the white accents because the background paper was not a true white.
All the little mouse accents, from the cheese "present" to the hat and scarf are from Lawn Fawn.
I have to admit that this IS NOT my favorite card. The mice are a bit too close together on the tag but I had to do it this way because of the size of the tag. It is also busier then I usually make my cards. All in all, it was fun to create but not my usual style.
That is all from me today. I thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. Have a wonderful day!!

Thank you for being this month's Guest Designer at Twofer, Nora! I think both your designs are sensational and all the intricate details draw in the eye to study them carefully. I love how you combined different sets for your outdoor party scene! Great coloring and composition and terrific touches with the grass, glossy accents, and glitter! And I think you're too hard on yourself about your adorable Christmas card! You stepped out of your usual style and created a layered design with tons of interest. Your delightful elements don't seem too crowded to this CAS girl! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThese are 2 amazing cards, such a lot of detail but still not fussy. I like the first card best but both are impressive. Congrats on your guest designer spot xx
ReplyDeleteYou're so good, Nora! These cards are both adorable with the little critters. I love either CAS or all dressed up, so your second card looks as good to me as the first one. The mice appear to be dancing so it's okay that they're close. I'm glad you're our guest designer at Twofer this month!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great twofer!! I love that plaid!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on guesting Nora, these are adorable!
ReplyDeleteDarling twofer, your mice are so sweetly colored. I love their rosy cheeks with the highlights.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on guest DT at TWofer, Nora! Just love your darling mouse critter cards! Especially love the Christmas one with the mice exchanging cheese!!
ReplyDeleteLoving your Twofer cards Nora and the way you've made them in such different styles! The little party scene is absolutely adorable and the details have blown me away - the little mice feet in the grass, the little extras pulled from a variety of stamp sets, the glossy accents and stickles additions! I love the way you've combined the papers and patterns on your layered card too. The mice with their cheese gift are very cute!
ReplyDeleteNora!!! Congratulations on being a Twofer Guest Designer! Your sweet little mice are adorable both ways you've colored them up - love all the tiny little detail you've added, like those sweet cheeks! Wonderful use of snippets from your stash, too! I think I want to celebrate in that darling field with your darling critter clan!
ReplyDeleteNailed it!! xx

What a joyful birthday celebration, Nora! I love all of your great details like the shine on the hats and balloon, the stickles, and cutting the grass for their little feet! Your Christmas card is fabulous too! Those little mice are such good friends, they don't mind being close, I'm sure! Again, wonderful details on this card too! Thank you so much for being our guest designer this month!
ReplyDeleteI am delighted that you are our GD over at Twofer, Nora! Both of your cards are absolutely adorable!! I love HB's little critter stamps! I really need to pull out my sets and use them more often. That birthday card is so darn sweet! I love everything about it; especially the created stencil for the grass, and the GA and Stickles that give this a little 'extra!' While your Christmas card has lots of elements, it works perfectly all together. The colors and those mice! are just right for the season. Love that little Santa hat, and the gift, too! It's a really sweet card. They both are!! Thanks, again, for Guest Designing at Twofer!! xo Bev
ReplyDeleteFun cards, Nora! Congratulations on Guest Designing!!! I especially love the happy birthday party scene.
ReplyDeleteJust adorable! Two fun, and very different, cards!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your Guest Designer spot, Nora! I love how you combined elements from different sets to create your birthday card, and how you included so many great details on this card! There's nothing better than a Christmas mouse (or 2) to create the perfect holiday card, and you have totally nailed it here...in my humble opinion, they are NOT too close together, and I love how they pop against the plaid tag! Great job coloring on both cards, too! Thanks so much for inspiring me to play along!!! Barb xx
ReplyDeleteThose sweet, gift exchanging little mice are adorable layered against the rich, opulent Christmas PP, Nora ... and how pretty is the delicate lacy-ness that peeks out around the edges to frame them! Your cute birthday scene is so celebratory with the partying critters ... fabulous colouring and detailing ... and so fun! Thanks so much for inspiring our players as our Guest Designer at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
