CAS(E) this Sketch #108 with Lawn Fawn

Hello! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. It is a bit cold in Connecticut today but that is New England weather. I will take this over snow any day!

Charlotte and Chris are at robotics today so I spent the day doing whatever I felt like. Mostly that was laundry and going to the gym but I did get to have a really nice late lunch with a friend. I had one of the most DELICIOUS margarita's I have ever had today. It was made from grapefruit juice rather then sour mix and just so refreshing! I don't seem to get enough socializing in these days and I miss that. I think I need to schedule that in more often.

One thing I did have time to do this morning is make a card for the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge. I read this morning that an online friend was feeling under the weather so I whipped up this card for her.

To be honest, I actually created TWO cards because I am trying to make my life a little easier so I have cards created for my stash instead of whipping them up on demand. Here is sketch #108 that I used as my jumping off point:

To start my card, I stamped the little bird from Lawn Fawn's "Get Well Soon" stamp set and colored it in using Copic markers. I then die cut the bird using the matching die set.

Next, I stamped the sentiment and the hearts on the white rectangle. I wrapped a piece of red DMC floss around the top, mounted it with foam adhesive onto a red scallop die cut and set it aside.

For the background, I used Washi tape to create the stripes on a white piece of card stock measuring
5  1/2" by 4 1/4." I wanted the stripes to be as straight as can be so I started from top and used a red scrap piece of tape as a marker. On both the cards I made I had white space left at the bottom, which was not what I wanted. However, I left it and if I created this design again, would fix it so that this would not happen.

When I was finished with the tape, I folded the ends over to the back and mounted the rectangle onto a 5 1/2" by 4 1/4" top folding card.

I mounted the small rectangle piece I had created previously onto the front of the card. I then mounted the little bird onto the front with foam adhesive.

My last step was to take a Wink of Stella pen and use it over the black hearts. It is hard to tell in the photo but they do have a bit of shine to them.

My second card I created the same way but changed up the color scheme a bit.

I like how both of them came out and it was not hours to make, as per my usual cards.

I am also entering this into Simon Says "Anything Goes" Wednesday Challenge."

I thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great night!!
