Happy Hump Day!! I cannot believe it is the LAST DAY OF FEBRUARY!!! Where has the month gone???
Today I am on the CAS-ual Friday's Blog using the same stamp sets as my friend, Michele Ferguson. I LOVE doing these type of challenges and asked her to join me. So PLEASE-hop on over to her BLOG and leave her some LOVE!!!
For my first card, I used the "Coffee Cup Fri-die" and elongated it to make a larger coffee cup. This was all Michele's brilliant idea!!! I then ran it through my die cut machine with an embossing folder and used some alcohol inks on top of it to make a cool pattern. It kind of reminds me of a pottery mug.
I layered it over a background that I created using Distress Stains. The "coffee stains" were made with Distress Ink and some containers on my desk!!!
I heat embossed a sentiment from the "Hot Coffee" stamp set in gold and used a pink heart that I die cut using my favorite "Fun-Fetti Fri-die" set. (I don't think I ever do a card without this set!!)
For my next card, I die cut the "Coffee Cup Fri-die" out of a background paper that I had created a couple weeks ago with a stencil and some glitter paste. I thought the way the glitter was situated that it would look good on the mug.
I then layered this over another background that I created using a combination of Distress Stain and Distress Ink.
I used a die cut heart that was sitting on my desk to embellish the middle of the mug. I covered with a glitter pen and then Glossy Accents.
The sentiment was stamped with a stamp from the "Hot Coffee" stamp set with some brown dye ink.
To finish off this card, I created a middle using the "Shenanigans" stamp set. I thought the sentiment on the front reminded me of a belated birthday so I made the inside of the card a birthday card.

I'd just been to see Michele. Love how the two of you made such different cards using those same dies. Your pottery cup does remind me of those I see at our Starving Artist's Fair! Love the background you've created for it, too. And your glittery cup...well, everyone should have one of those in the cupboard! Very, very pretty. How fun! And that Michele is super fun, too! Bev
ReplyDeleteHow FUN that Michele got to play with you! I LOVE your cards, Nora! The elongated cup is so beautifully textured and the smaller mug is so pretty! Wish I had mugs like yours IRL!
