Happy Saturday everyone!! I am popping in today with some cards I created for some challenges!!!
The first challenge I am entering is the Twofer Card Challenge #36. This month it is Anything Goes!!! I chose to create a birthday and a sympathy card using a Simon Says Stamp Flower Cluster die.
For my first card, I chose to create a birthday card using just black and white.
I adhered a partial piece of the flower cluster over a white scalloped circle. I then adhered the circle over a border I die cut using the Macrame Border and Tassels die from The Greetery.
I then adhered some sentiment strips that I had in my stash. I like how the black just pops off the card. It is easier to see in real life!!
I am entering this card into The Color Hues Challenge #14, Black and White.
On my second card, I actually used the piece of the flower cluster that I cut off from my first card.
Instead of leaving it white, I used some Copic markers to color the flower and leaves.
I mounted it over a computer generated sentiment that I die cut with an MFT Pierced Circle die, that was adhered with foam adhesive over my NEW Curvy Leaves from Pinkfresh Studio. I am supposed to be on a not buy challenge but it isn't working!!!
Two pretty cards, Nora!
ReplyDeleteYou've created two striking cards, Nora! I love a black and white design, especially with loads of interest and dimension like you've achieved with your birthday design! Even your sympathy design started with a beautiful b/w focus on pretty pp. The addition of the colored flower cluster is fabulous! Thank you for playing in TCC #36! I hope you are keeping well! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the subtle background detail of your B&W card Nora!
ReplyDeleteYour sympathy card is beautiful too!

What a cool, crisp and stylish birthday card, Nora ... love the white on white ... and how the black really pops against it! Your sympathy card is soft and lovely ... a subtle, calm background that's perfect with the delicately coloured floral cluster! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWonderfully lovely cards, dear Nora. I really like the serenity and elegance that working with limited colour palettes instantly conveys here.

You've created a great twofer, Nora. I like the tiny flower. Birthday card with the delicate white motive and black sentiment is fabulous. Great use of patterned paper on the sympathy card. And esthetical made focal point with the flower. Thank you for joining us at Twofer Card Challenge in March. Hugs, Sonja
ReplyDeleteThere's just something so elegant about black and white cards, Nora. I love this one! I'd call it a 'goldilocks' card - not too much, not too little, it's just right! That floral cluster die adds the perfect amount of interest. And as much as we hate to have to make them, your sympathy card turned out beautifully. Those Copic colored leaves and flower draw the eye right into your focal point. Really lovely. Thank you so much, my friend, for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Stay safe. xo Bev
