25 Days of Christmas Tags

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are all enjoying your day.

Today I am popping in with some tags that I created for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags blog hop. If you have not heard of this hop, head on over because it is AMAZING. There are also PRIZES to be won!!!

The CAS-ual Fridays Design team made tags showcasing some of their Christmas products and are being featured on the 25 Days of Christmas Tags blog today. I decided to go with my OBSESSION of snowflakes that I have been on this fall and create tags using snowflakes as the theme.

I chose to do multiples and use neutral colors to go with any wrapping paper. I started off by die cutting the large tag from the Tag Buddies Fri-dies twice from Kraft cardstock.

I then stamped and heat embossed two small snowflakes, in white, on each tag using the Snowy Sayings stamp set.

Next I flicked watered down white acrylic paint and gold watercolor over the top of the tags using a tooth brush.

When the paint was dry, I layered die cut snowflakes that I had cut using the Funky Flakes Fri-dies and adhered them to the tag. I covered the snowflakes with Diamond Stickles to give them some sparkle and shine.

When the Stickles were dry, I adhered some sequins in the middle of the snowflakes and added some ribbon with gold floss to the top of the tags.

My next two tags I die cut using the middle tag from the Tag Buddies Fri-dies.

I used the exact same paint technique on these two tags that I used on the larger tags.

I again die cut snowflakes using the Funky Flakes Fri-dies and adhered a couple together in a pattern on each tag.

I then added some Diamond Stickles on one of the section of the snowflake and added a gold sequin to the middle.

My last step was to add some white ribbon and gold floss to the top of the tags.

That is all from me today. I hope this inspires you to create some fun tags of your own. Be sure to hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog to see what the other girls from the team have created.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Snowflakes with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

It is hard to believe that it is the last day of November today. Where has the time gone?

Today it is my turn on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I created a holiday card and matching tag using two snowflake sets-"Snowy Sayings" and "Bring on the Snowflakes."

The colors were inspired by the image below.

It was also LOOSELY based on last weeks "Freshly Made Sketches #314.

I started off by stamping and heat embossing the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Snowy Sayings" in silver.

I then stamped the small aqua snowflake from the same set and the large snowflake from "Bring on the Snowflakes."

Next I stamped and heat embossed the large silver snowflake. I die cut the white panel and wrapped some silver thread around the front. I used a lighter piece of a patterned paper scrap behind the panel and mounted the whole thing on an A2 sized, top folding, aqua card.

My last step was to adhere some matching sequins and light colored jewels on the snowflakes and randomly around the sentiment.

For the tag, I actually used the practice piece I made for my card. I did the exact same process as my card but then used the middle sized Fri-die from "Tag Buddies" to cut out the tag.

I added some silver thread and thin ribbon to the top to finish as the finishing touch.

I love using different colors for my Christmas cards and I hope that this inspires you to create some fun snow themed cards too. Use my code-nora2017 at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to get 15% off your next purchase-including sale items!!

I thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps meets Chibitronics Blog Hop

Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a fabulous week!

I am part of a blog hop today with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps in conjunction with Chibitronics. Chibitronics can make your card light up!!!

You should have come from Wei Wei Wang's blog.

I have to admit, I was a bit scared. I never took Physics in High School for a reason. Making a simple circuit? Thought I would be in trouble. I did do a sample card first to make sure it would work and surprise, surprise-it was easy!!

Here is what comes in the Chibitronics starter kit:

Copper tape, batteries, a ton of tiny lights-everything you need to bump up a card to the next level.

To create my card, I used CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Snowy Sayings" and "Powerful Words" set with "Funky Flakes Fri-dies" for a monochromatic holiday card.

First I stamped tiny dots from "Snowy Sayings" with pigment ink and heat embossed it in white. I used "Powerful Words" for my sentiment, using the same technique as the card front. I fussy cut the sentiment and adhered it to the card front.

I then die cut a few of the snowflakes using the "Funky Flakes" Fri-dies" and adhered them to the card. I topped the snowflake off with a clear sequin and some Diamond Stickles. A really simple card but then it was time to make it light up.

I DID NOT photograph my circuit as my inside was terribly messy. I had to pull up the tape a few times to get the battery and the light where I wanted it. However, I created a diagram above to show you how I set the simple circuit up. Totally easy!!!

I had a really hard time taking a photo of the card lighting up so I apologize for the photo below.

It looks really cool in real life. So much so that my daughter asked me where I bought it!!!

Next up is Karen Pemberton Szafron's Blog. If you get lost along the way, hop on over to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog to get the full blog hop list.

Don't forget to comment on the blogs along the way to be in the running for two random prizes of a Chibitronic's Starter Kit or a $30 gift certificate to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store!!!

Don't forget that there are some great holiday products on sale at the stamp store. Use my code nora2017 to get an extra 15% off!!

I thank you for stopping by today. I hope this inspires you to give this technique a try.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Snowflake Inspiration

It is Christmas Eve and my turn over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog for a little inspiration. I created three projects for this post, all using some of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps snowflake dies and stamps.

My first project I created a thank you card.

I used CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Bring on the Snowflakes," "Snowy Sayings" and "Thanks" stamp sets for this card. I designed this card to be very simple so that I could easily whip up a ton to write my Christmas thank you notes.

I stamped the snowflakes from both snow sets in green, pink, aqua and lavender inks onto a blue card base. I then stamped the sentiment with black ink. I added a bit of sparkle to the snowflakes with glitter glue that matched the ink colors.

My next project I created for my "Secret Snowflake" I had at work.

I die cut snowflakes put of white paper scraps using the CAS-ual Fridays Fri-dies "Funky Flakes" and "Flurry," dies.

I then inserted die cut snowflakes in a clear envelope, added white flat and star sequins, as well as a gift card, and then fused them at the top. I have never done this technique before and thought the result was cool. I am now going to look at using my dies in fun, new ways.

I created a tag to match, stamping snowflakes from "Bring on the Snowflakes" and "Snowy Sayings" onto the large tag from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Tag Buddies" die set.

Since I was not wrapping this gift up, the inks I used for the snowflakes matched the gift card.

If you like any of the projects here, the stamps and dies can be purchased from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store. Use my code nora2016 to get a 15% discount.

I thank you for stopping by and wish everyone a magical Christmas!!

CAS-ual Fridays Inspiration

Happy Hump Day!!

It is my turn for inspiration over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I am sharing a card that I created using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Bring On the Snowflakes" stamp set with "Snowy Sayings." I decided to go with a "Christmas in July" theme.

I wanted to do something extremely simple because most people make Christmas cards in bulk and like easy designs. I decided to add some small elements like sequins and silver thread to jazz it up a bit, to make the card seem like it took longer to make then it did.

I started off by stamping the snowflakes from both CAS-ual Fridays stamp sets randomly with two different green inks and a gray dye ink onto a white card stock base measuring 4 1/4" by 5 1/2."

I then stamped the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Snowy Sayings" with black archival ink. I trimmed the panel 1/8" on the top and on the the right side and wrapped silver thread along the top before adhering it to a gray card stock base.

My last step was to adhere sequins in different sizes in green, silver and clear to the middle of random snowflakes. Totally easy but I think the effect is so pretty!! This card would be really easy to make in stages, as well as in bulk. You could have all your home made holiday cards done in no time!

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a wonderful day!!

Toodles!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Christmas in July Release!

Happy Sunday everyone. It is steaming hot outside and to cool you down, I am giving you a sneak peek to some new winters stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. These particular stamps will be available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store TONIGHT. They were previously released in a limited quantity for Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval box but now they are available for everyone!!

For my first card, I used all of the products above and some patterned paper for a festive creation.

I started off by trimming a piece of patterned paper from Fancy Pants "Wish Season" collection into a 4" by 5 1/4" piece. I then cut a piece of pink paper, also from "Wish Season" into four strips and notched the end with scissors to create banners. I adhered the banners, overlapping them a bit, onto the front of the wood patterned paper. Next I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment in silver from the "Snowy Sayings" stamp set onto the pink banners.

I stamped and embossed snowflakes from "Bringing on the Snowflakes" set onto vellum. I then die cut the snowflake parts out with the "Funky Flakes Fri-Dies." I tied silver DMC floss around the patterned paper, tied a bow and then adhered the vellum snowflake over the bow. I added a rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake for a bit of shine. Next I adhered the patterned paper card front over an A2 top folding card using foam adhesive.

I then used "Walnut Stain," "Picket Fence" and "Tumbled Glass" Distress Stain over the front of the card. I added random rhinestones and some vellum left over from die cutting the snowflake over the banners for a bit of whimsy.

I decided that I wanted to create a second card since I had so much making the first card. Instead of using primarily patterned paper, I decided to make the stamps my focal point.

I stamped the small snowflakes from "Snowy Sayings" onto a white A2 top folding card base with Hero Arts "Soft Pink" and "Tide Pool" dye ink. I then stamped the sentiment in Ranger Archival "Black" ink from the same set.

I added a scrap of pink from Fancy Pants "Wish Season" collection at the bottom and American Crafts glitter tape in blue. I then adhered random sequins in blue and white to complete the card.

Remember, these stamp sets and the die set will be available tonight in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store. Want a deal? Use the code nora2016 to get 15% off your total stamp order!!!
