CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Christmas in July Release Party Day 4

It is time for another sneak peek from the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release. All new stamps will be available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store this Saturday, July 16, 2016.

Today I am showcasing the new "Sleighride" stamp set and the matching "Sleigh" Fri-dies.

I created a card simple card using both of these products.

I started off this card by stamping the sentiment from the "Sleighride" set in olive green on to a white piece of card stock. I then cut it out to create snowbanks. I layered the snowbanks over a white A2 card that I had prepared with a white embossed background.

Next I adhered the sleigh that I had stamped from the "Sleighride" set, colored in with Copic markers and die cut with the "Sleigh" Fri-dies. I then tucked in presents that I had stamped on patterned paper with the new"Partridge in a Pear Tree" set from yesterdays sneak peek.

The last step was to cover the sleigh with clear Wink of Stella and adhere some holly, also stamped using the same set, with foam adhesive.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Christmas in July Release!

Happy Sunday everyone. It is steaming hot outside and to cool you down, I am giving you a sneak peek to some new winters stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. These particular stamps will be available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store TONIGHT. They were previously released in a limited quantity for Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval box but now they are available for everyone!!

For my first card, I used all of the products above and some patterned paper for a festive creation.

I started off by trimming a piece of patterned paper from Fancy Pants "Wish Season" collection into a 4" by 5 1/4" piece. I then cut a piece of pink paper, also from "Wish Season" into four strips and notched the end with scissors to create banners. I adhered the banners, overlapping them a bit, onto the front of the wood patterned paper. Next I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment in silver from the "Snowy Sayings" stamp set onto the pink banners.

I stamped and embossed snowflakes from "Bringing on the Snowflakes" set onto vellum. I then die cut the snowflake parts out with the "Funky Flakes Fri-Dies." I tied silver DMC floss around the patterned paper, tied a bow and then adhered the vellum snowflake over the bow. I added a rhinestone in the middle of the snowflake for a bit of shine. Next I adhered the patterned paper card front over an A2 top folding card using foam adhesive.

I then used "Walnut Stain," "Picket Fence" and "Tumbled Glass" Distress Stain over the front of the card. I added random rhinestones and some vellum left over from die cutting the snowflake over the banners for a bit of whimsy.

I decided that I wanted to create a second card since I had so much making the first card. Instead of using primarily patterned paper, I decided to make the stamps my focal point.

I stamped the small snowflakes from "Snowy Sayings" onto a white A2 top folding card base with Hero Arts "Soft Pink" and "Tide Pool" dye ink. I then stamped the sentiment in Ranger Archival "Black" ink from the same set.

I added a scrap of pink from Fancy Pants "Wish Season" collection at the bottom and American Crafts glitter tape in blue. I then adhered random sequins in blue and white to complete the card.

Remember, these stamp sets and the die set will be available tonight in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store. Want a deal? Use the code nora2016 to get 15% off your total stamp order!!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #174 Guest Designer

Happy Thursday everyone!!

I am so excited today because I was asked to be a guest designer for CAS(E) this Sketch blog!!! Here is the sketch I was asked to use for inspiration:

Isn't it cool? When I first saw it, I knew that instead of stars, I wanted to use snowflakes. I actually made a SHAKER CARD too! I do not usually do holiday cards, let alone shaker cards, but this just screamed Christmas to me and I knew I wanted to make a shaker. Here is what I came up with:

I LOVE aqua and white together so I decided to use this as the color scheme. It helped that I just bought the "Caribbean Dream" sequin mix from Lucy's Cards. I was dying to use it!!

The first thing I did was die cut four snowflakes out of a white piece of card stock. I used CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Flurry" Fri-dies for the large snowflake and Paper Smooches "Snowflakes" Wise Dies for the small one. I set the three small, positive flakes aside because I knew I wanted to use them on the card front. I then used an MFT Blueprints die to cut the panel down to a 4" by 5 1/4" rectangle.

I adhered acetate and a liberal amount of foam adhesive on the back of the card. For the two upper snowflakes I made little "pockets" with the adhesive to fill with the sequins mix.

I then assembled my shaker-adding the sequins and adhering the card to a white card base. I adhered the positive snowflakes and some sequins on the card front as well.

I stamped a sentiment from PaperTrey Ink's "Peaceful Pinecones" set with Hero Arts "Soft Pool" dye ink onto a white strip and adhered it over the large snowflake using foam adhesive. Very simple and believe it or not, fast to put together.

That is it for me today. I thank you so much for stopping by. Be sure to hop over to CAS(E) this Sketch to join in on the fun!!

SJ Card Kit Club

Happy Tuesday!! Today I am sharing the cards I created with the SJ Card Kit Club. It was Kathleen's turn and she sent us a HUGE kit of Christmas themed supplies. I was the weak link to this kit as I only created five cards. It was a combination of being too tired after a long day at work and not having any mojo. Hate that!!

On my first card, I created a little hill for the bear to stand on. The bear was part of the kit, as was the patterned paper. I enhanced the die cut with a little black enamel to make the eyes and the nose. The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink's "Cup of Cheer" stamp set.

My second card is the one I like the least. I had to put the trim at the top as I made a mistake adhering the paper. I also used Festive Berry Distress Ink on the embossed sentiment and don't love the look.

There is a serious mistake on this card. The left bird was not supposed to have a black eye!! I first used a black liquid enamel to attempt to make the eyes but did not like it. I was able to glue the other eyes on with no issue but the black seeped out a bit. I was so mad as this was the last thing I did for this card!! The sentiment and the stamped notes are from Paperie Ink's "Christmas Carolers" stamp set.

Really simple card. I die cut the embossed background that was in the kit and adhered it to a white card base. I then layered a white hill and used the die cuts that were in the kit. I used liquid black embossing enamel for the snowman's eyes and Nuvo Red Berry for the buttons.

This card was super simple to created. I utilized patterned paper that was included in the kit on the background, as well as the die cut snowman, present and hat. I enhanced the snowman by using liquid black enamel for the snowman's eyes and mouth, Diamond Stickles for the dots on the present and blue gems for buttons.

I thank you for stopping by. Please visit the SJ Card Kit Club blog to view the other participants creations.

From Our Family To Yours-Paperie Ink Christmas Carolers

Happy Monday!! My blog has been very slow as of late. Work has been getting in the way of my creating. I have had to take a nap when I get home before I do all the running around with Charlotte too. I will be happy to feel normal again but it sure is taking a long time.

Today I am sharing a card I created for Paperie Ink using the Christmas Carolers stamp and die set. This set is so darn cute!

I started by stamping the birds, their "Christmas" accessories, the nest and the eggs on white card stock and die cut the pieces out. I then colored the images in using Copic markers.

Next I stamped the branch and the log onto kraft card stock. I then ran the card stock through a wood grain embossing folder to give the wood pieces some texture. I cut them out using the matching dies. Using Walnut Stain Distress Ink, I sponged over the wood pieces to give them a bit of dimension.

I assembled all the pieces over a snowy background scene that I had adhered to a red card base. I added clear Wink of Stella to the birds hat and the bow, and added snow to the nest, branch and log. I sprinkled some fine, clear glitter over the snow  before it dried to give it some sparkle.

The last step was to stamp the sentiment in black at the bottom of the card.

I think this card came out so adorable. I cannot wait to send it out!!

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!!

CAS(E)this Sketch #145

Hello everyone!! I am finally back!! I am still NOT 100% but feeling so much better. If I do too much, I sleep like I am drugged. It is kind of scary!!

Anyway, when I do feel okay, I have been at my craft desk. A lot of it is just stamping and coloring images but I have created some cards. Today I want to share my card that I created for CAS(E) this Sketch #145.

I created this card using Lawn Fawn's "Baaah Humbug" stamp set and dies.

I did a bit of masking with the hat when I stamped the sheep from this set. I colored him in using Copic markers. I used Marvy's Snow Pen to give the hat a "furry" look.

Here is the sketch that inspired me:

I could have made a ton of cards from this sketch. Isn't it awesome?

To get the sentiments evenly spaced, I used my MISTI tool. I have to say that I am finally getting used to it and it has made a world of difference in stamping!! To emphasize the sentiment a little bit more, I then die cut around it with a die from My Favorite Things.

I actually partially die cut the sheep with the dies to get the hat and the body cut out. It is not perfect but for my first experience, I didn't ruin it. I would have been upset had made a mess of things because I colored this little critter and THEN die cut him out. I don't usually do that!!

Well, I thank you for stopping by tonight. It is good to be back!! Have a great night!!

Wanna Sketch Challenge #22

Hello readers!! I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving. I know I did. We went to my fathers and there was so much food that my husband over ate. He felt just a teeny bit sick. It was very hard to resist, I have to admit!

I have been having fun in my craft room for the last couple hours using stamps that have been sitting on my desk and some Stampin Up! stamps that I borrowed from my friend for the weekend. It is nice not to have to buy every stamp you want, especially when you are not sure how you will use them. I will be showcasing two cards I created with these borrowed stamps tomorrow.

As for today, I am showing you a card I created for the "Wanna Sketch Challenge #22" at the Dahlhouse Designs blog. If you have never been there, check it out. What a great blog with some really beautiful work!! I had fun browsing.

Here is the card I created: (I apologize for the photo-the lighting is off and I couldn't figure out how to fix it correctly!!)

Here is the sketch that I used as my inspiration:

I started out by cropping a piece of white card stock and stamping the Christmas lights from WPlus9's "Festive Greeting" stamps in black. I then used various colored inks to stamp the colors inside the lights. Next I used my Wink of Stella pen to give them a little zing and then covered all of it with Ranger's glossy accents. I set it aside to let it dry.

Here is where things get tricky. I stamped the "merry" sentiment in red ink...then proceeded to smudge the y. I was so upset!! I didn't want to throw the whole card away so I tried to think of a way to make it work. I took an eraser and smudged the rest of the word so it was uniform. I think I pulled it off, right?

I then mounted this stamped piece on a card base that I had adhered red glitter tape to the right and left side. I adhered the "christmas" sentiment that I had stamped and embossed on black card stock with foam adhesive. The last little touch was to add the sequins.

I am not sure I LOVE this card but it came out OK. The sentiment accident still kind of bugs me but that is okay, I guess. I really enjoyed using these stamps, though, and think I will use them next on some tags.

I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-"Anything Goes."

I thank you for taking the time to stop by.
