Sunday, Fun Day!!

Hello friends!!!

I have not been posting lately but I have been creating. I haven't been in the mood to blog as of late as the state of the world is just so depressing to me.

That said, I am popping in with some cards for some challenges. My first card I created using the Freshly Made Sketches #706 and this week's Just Add Ink #772, which is a color challenge, as inspiration. Am I the only weird one that goes back and looks at old sketches when I need an idea?

I used Prima Marketing "Bewitched" Paper Pad, chipboard stickers and Ephemera for this card. The moon was created with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Moon Mask stencil.

Below are the badges I used for my inspiration. The colors that inspired me from the Just Add Ink are the purple, brown, gray and the orange leaves on the broom.

I think these die cuts are so much fun and the pattern paper needs nothing, though I did distress the edges of all the paper on my card.

I always feel funny when I make Halloween cards because I do not usually send them out. It isn't a holiday that most people I know celebrate!!

My next card I created I used three challenges as my inspiration- Freshly Made Sketches #709, Just Us Girls Challenge #798 and the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #282

Instead of a square card, I created a rectangle card. I used two different stencils on my background, as well as some ink smooshing. I used the diagonal starting from the top left of the TTTC card-Leaves, Free and Die Cuts.

I used the Beautiful Branch die from Simon Says Stamp for my flower. I used the leaves as my "banner" and the sentiment as the rectangle in the sketch.

Like I stated above, I ink smooshed, then used TWO stencils on my background-a polka dot and the Grime Stencil from Tim Holtz. I then ran the white panel through my Platinum with the Honey Bee Burlap Embossing Folder-my absolute FAVORITE!!! The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Crafts.

My last card for today I used the Festive Friday #196 info list as my inspiration for my card.

I chose to use red, poppies and paper piecing for my card.

As I look at this, I am not even sure that these are poppies!! However I think they look like them!

This is such a simple card but I LOVE how the flowers came out!!!

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Playing Cards With Friends

 Hey Friends!!!

Today I am popping in with some cards that I created with a technique that I tried while playing cards with my friend Michele Ferguson from the I Card Everyone Blog. We both saw a reel on the  Altenew Instagram by Michelle Short where you emboss on black cardstock, shade the embossed image in blue and then give it some shine with some gold embossing powder. We decided to try it.

Instead of a tag like Michelle Short created, I embossed a whole piece of black cardstock with the Scenic Poinsettia 3D Embossing Folder by Spellbinders. I then shaded in the poinsettias with Stormy Sky Distress Oxide

I brushed on some Versamark Ink and added some Silver embossing ink by Ranger Ink.

I then added it to a card base and used a Birch Press Design sentiment die covered in silver embossing powder. Some blue pearls were added for a finishing touch.

My next card I decided to use an embossing folder by the Stamp Market on a forest green cardstock. I used two green oxide inks to shade the eucalyptus-Evergreen Bough and Lucky Clover.

I used some gold embossing powder on this card.

The sentiment is a die from Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment strip is stamped with a sentiment from The Stamp Market.

The gold sequins were added last.

For my last card, I went bold. Not my favorite, if I am honest, but I decided I would show it anyway.

I used an embossing folder by Altenew this time. I shaded it in with Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink.

I brushed on Versamark ink and covered it with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.

I added a sentiment from Memory Box and some gold pearls.

All in all, I had fun using this technique. I think it is more dramatic if I could have partially embossed my images but the folders were too big for me to arrange the paper the way I wanted. I am not sure I would do this technique again but it was fun to try.

That is all for me today. It is now it is time for you to hop on over to Michele Ferguson's Blog to see her completed cards.

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!
