Nautical Themed Cards

Happy Monday!! I hope you all are having a FABULOUS day!! It has been BEAUTIFUL day here today. I DID NOT enjoy the nice weather, though but instead spent it inside finishing some cards and piecing together some die cuts for future cards.

Today my two cards I created for the Twofer Card Challenge #19. I created a birthday card and an encouragement card.

The theme was a nautical theme.

The first card I used a Neat and Tangled stencil, some Distress Ink and Copic White to create an ocean. It wasn't actually supposed to be an ocean stencil but I decided I would make it so!!

I then stamped images from Simon Says Stamps "Your Light" stamp set.

I used Copic markers to color in the light house and the sky.

I added some red twine and a sentiment that was heat embossed from the same stamp set to complete my card.

My next card, I used the same stamp but stamped the light house on a circle.

I used used a dot coloring technique to color in the lighthouse with Copic's and colored in the ocean with no shading at all.

I then masked the scene and used Distress Ink in two colors to create a night sky. I used Gel Pen and Spika markers for the "stars."

I mounted the circle on a vellum circle that I had stamped the image on as well. I then mounted both on an A2 card base that I had covered with patterned paper.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I am entering this second card in the Fab Friday Challenge #169, which was a sketch that was the jump off point for the design of this card.

I am entering my first light house card into Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge which is Midsummer Blues.

On another note, I only have two free Mondays left and I am dreading going back to work. I am using my last days to go do some things that I haven't gotten to this summer. I go to visit my Aunts that I haven't seen in a long time. Very excited to go away for a few days by myself. Sometimes a longish car ride (5 1/2 hours) by myself is kind of fun. Then we take Charlotte to my niece's house, which is outside Boston, and will spend Saturday in Boston with my husband. I have to enjoy my time when I have it!!

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Please tune in tomorrow. I am up on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog with my first VIDEO tutorial for a card!!!

Have a FABULOUS night!!

Some Challenge Cards

Hello everyone!! Happy Tuesday to you all.

I have been doing a bit of crafting at my house. I had a friend over yesterday and I helped her make a bunch of cards of the same design. They were based off my card in this post. We changed up the colors and the sentiments. It was fun to share my supplies and chat while creating!!

Today I am sharing a card I created for this weeks CASE this Sketch Challenge #333. I used a technique based this Jennifer McGuire video but with a stencil.

Am I the only one who has a tough time taking photos of cards created with Kraft cardstock? I cannot ever seem to get the color right in the photos to match IRL!!!

Here is the sketch I based it off of:

The flowers are from MFT's Stitched Garden Die-namics.  I created the background with a stencil, orange ink and then inking the edges with metallic ink.

I used Nuvo Drops in Dandelion Yellow for the flower centers and little embellishments.

Supplies:
(affiliate Links used when possible at no extra cost to you)
Paper-Kraft-Paper Studio and scraps from my drawer
Dies-My Favorite Things Stitched Flowers
Stamps-Memory Box Best Life Typewriter Sentiments
Ink-Tuxedo Black, Memento, Delicata Golden Glitz, Catherine Pooler Orange Twist

For my next card, I used a challenge from a private board and am entering this into Just Us Girls #499.

I used Paper Smooches Sunny and Mini Cloud dies, as well as a scrap of pattern paper to create my card.

The shiny glasses were a fluke. I was looking through all my stuff to see if I had anything that would look like a lens but could find nothing. I die the lenses out of silver mirrored cardstock and while adhering them, got glue all over the front and it left marks.

My solution was to use an adhesive eraser and then cover them with Glossy Accents. I think it came out cool!!

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Bitty Birthday Word Stamps.

Supplies:
(affiliate links used, when possible, at no extra cost to you)
Dies-Paper Smooches Mini Clouds, Sunny
Other-Glossy Accents, Versamark Ink, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Die Cut Machine, Adhesive foamScotch Adhesive, My Favorite Things Bitty Birthday Words Stamps

In other news, just got back from taking my little pup to the vet once again. He had a cough and really bad breath. (the breath was worse then usual dog breath!) We are trying antibiotics as he was kenneled for a week while we were on vacation BUT it is most likely the heart murmur he was just diagnosed with today. This dog costs more than my child! If the antibiotics don't work, he will have to be put on heart meds, as well as the thyroid and the seizure meds he is already on. We will have to change his diet too. Totally feel so sad about it.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Another Thank You

Happy Wednesday!! It is POURING outside and thundering, and I probably should NOT be posting right now but sometimes you just have to risk it.

Today I am posting a card that I created last night as a thank you for Chris' Aunt and Uncle. I used this weeks Paper Players Challenge #452 as my inspiration.

Here is the sketch:

I used CC Design's "Kitty With Chicks" stamp to honor the kittens we played with over vacation.

I colored in the image with Copic markers and used a Nuvo Shimmer Pen with Glossy Accents over the beaks and the kittens ears. I then used an MFT stamp for the sentiments.

I layered the stamped image over some pattern paper scraps. I didn't use any adhesive foam because I wanted this to go through the mail easily.

I am also going to enter this into this weeks Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #232-Anything Goes.

That is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by. Have a GREAT DAY!!!

Rainbow Card Challenge #7

Happy Tuesday!!

Just popping in with a card I created yesterday and today.

The first card was inspired by the photo badge for the Rainbow Card Challenge #7. This is a new to me challenge and I am excited to enter it.

I used the Butterfly Turnabout from Concord and 9th and the Daphne butterfly die from Poppy Stamps.

Here is the inspiration card:

I was mainly inspired by the blue butterfly and some hues of blues.

I did not use the turn about stamp in the way it was supposed to but masked each off and used the different blues on each butterfly.

The thanks is a retired CAS-ual Fridays Stamps die.

I loved how this came out and will be sending this to my cousin.

That is all from me today. Thanks for stopping by and have a FABULOUS night!
