There is Still Time to Play at Cupcake Inspirations Challenges #570-Anything Goes

Hello friends!!

I am just popping in to remind you that there is still time to play with Cupcake Inspirations Challenges #570. It is a theme challenge-ANYTHING GOES.

My card below uses a sentiment by this weeks sponsor-Your Next Stamp

The Whatnot Sentiment Stamp Set from Your Next Stamp is one of my FAVORITES.

I have used this particular sympathy stamp on at least ten other cards. It is my go to sympathy sentiment.

Below is the the image badge for this round of Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #570.

I paired the stamped sentiment with a flower from Pinkfresh Studio and a background from Memory Box.

I added some sequins around the sentiment for some emphasis.

Want to join us this week? Hop on over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenges for more details.

That is all from me today. Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a great week!!

CASE this Sketch Guest Designer #339

Happy Thursday!! I hope your week is going well. Happy for Friday!!

Today I am on the blog with a post for CASE this Sketch #339. I won one of the challenges and as my prize, I get to be a guest designer over on the CASE this Sketch Blog this week!! I am so excited!! I would LOVE to design for this site any day!!!

To celebrate, I chose to create a card to use for a type of celebration.

I used scraps for the layered frames, an Ink Blot Shop sentiment and a Clearly Besotted stamp that was colored in with Copic Markers.

Below is the sketch that I used for this card:

I basically stuck to the sketch, with the exception of making the square into a circle. The heart element would be the margarita.

As per usual, I left it a day and came back and added a few things before I felt it was finished. I used a Memory Box stencil with some Twisted Citron Distress Ink to create some green polka dots behind the stamped piece.

I also covered the cherry with Glossy Accents and used a Nuvo Glimmer Pen on the umbrella in the drink.

I had SO MUCH FUN playing with this sketch and I thank Chrissy Larson and the whole design team for letting me play along today!!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!!

A Challenge Card and Some Totally Random Creations

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Just popping in with some cards I created.

This first card was inspired by some challenges.

I created the patterned paper using an Echo Park stencil on white card stock which I stenciled with MFT "Daffodil" and "Blue Breeze" die ink. I then adhered the panel to a light blue, A2, top folding card base.

I then stamped the sentiment using Sugar Peas Designs "Pucker Up" stamp set in black. I adhered a die cut blue banner on top and a white square over that. Next I adhered the lemonade images over the front of the square, using foam adhesive to pop up the glass and the lemon.

I am entering this card into Fusion Challenge Card Sketch and the colors by "Inspired By Hello Spring."

I was inspired by the sketch for the Fusion Challenge and the yellow and blue colors in the Inspired By photo.

My second random card design I made for a friend.

I die cut the Memory Box "Intricate Bee" out of gold glitter paper and mounted over a Memory Box "Honey Comb Stitched Circle Frame" die.

I die cut the thanks using WPlus9's "Basic Greetings" set, colored it in with a Spectrum Clear Sparkle marker and adhered it to the card front. I then covered it with Glossy Accents. I added a crown of embossed gold and tied some gold thread around the top.

My second card has the same card design BUT instead of using gold glitter paper (I ran out) I die cut the bee and embossed it in gold instead. I think I like it better.

Instead of using the WPlus9 greeting I used a die cut Lawn Fawn thanks sentiment.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

MUSE Card Challenge #129

Happy Sunday!! Two more days until I go back to work, three days before Char starts school. As the time nears, the more stressed I get and the more time I have actually been spending in my craft room. I did not realize how much crafting actually calms me down...that and shopping. Sometimes the two actually go hand in hand.

Speaking of shopping. I have a problem. I think I need a 12 Step Program for ink pads. Hi, my  name is Nora and I am an ink-o-haulic. These pads have all been purchased this summer (minus three that I am presently waiting on from Simon Says Stamp.) Oh wait, I forgot to add in the four distress pads I bought with the new colors. Okay, now I KNOW I have an issue.

Some are opened and some are not. None have been used at all. The horrible thing about this is that I have a cart full of the new Umbrella Inks at Scrapbook.com that I want. I really don't "need" them though.

Anyway, here is why I am really posting today. I had a chance to stamp a card for the MUSE card challenge (#129) this week. It was to use the card below as inspiration.

This card was made by Anita Bowden. If you haven't visited her blog, run over there and look. Her cards are fabulous!!

Here is my take on her card:

I originally wanted to make this only with a white background, no blue matting. HOWEVER, (surprise, surprise) I messed up on die cutting the panel and the stenciling was all done. I decided to just go with it.

I started off by using a stencil from Memory Box and blending Peacock and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink on a piece of white card stock. I then die cut the panel and mounted it on a Hawaiian Shores A2 top folding card base.

I really wanted to add some gold on the front like the inspiration piece but was not sure how. I knew I really did not want to use sequins. I then remembered I had gold thread and so adhered that to the card.

Next I used a Paper Trey Ink die and die cut four sentiments from black card stock and adhered them together to give the word a bit of dimension. I then adhered the die cut over the thread.

My last step was to stamp the sentiment strip using a Mama Elephant stamp and adhere that to the front. Once I had the idea, this card came together so fast. I think I will be using it again.

That is all for today. I thank you for looking!!
