A Couple of Fall Cards

 Hey Friends!!

I am enjoying some fall weather....FINALLY...and I created a couple of cards to celebrate my favorite time of year. I have had a ton of using some new to me supplies and some from my stash. It was fun to dig through my stuff and find things to use.

My first card was inspired by THREE challenges!!! Inspired By..#302, Tic Tac Toe Challenge #256 and TGIF Challenge #491

The colors and the leaf were inspired by the leaves in the challenge badge of the Inspired By... photo. I used the first column as inspiration on the Tic Tac Toe graphic-Fall/Embossing/Layers on this card and everyone knows that Fall is Sweater Weather!!!

I used a combination of Spellbinder's, Waffle Flower and MFT products on my card. Some were lying in my stash, some I created for this and my next card.

I also used the sketch from last week's Freshly Made Sketches Blog because I had wanted to use it last week and never got around to it.

My next card I could also enter into all three challenges but I would have to do another post and don't feel like it.

Once again, I used a combination of things from my stash-both old and new. The leaves were die cut last year but I never used them on a card. The gold flowers were laying around from a different project and they were used because the card just needed a little something, something when I was almost done.

I used a bunch of different companies on this card-Spellbinders, The Stamp Market, Waffle Flower, Ranger Distress Inks... This was such a fun card to create!

I just love using images that resemble "stamps" on cards.

That is all from me. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Card for the Inspired By Challenge IB189

Some Affiliate Links are used in this post. Please see Affiliate Policy

Happy Tuesday!!

It is still raining here in the Northeast. I guess it is typical during the fall but I want it to be nice so I can go apple picking!! I like to pick during the week to avoid all the crowds. I have a ton of farms that are minutes from my house that I pick it, depending on what type of apple I am looking for. My favorite are Macoun-what type is your favorite?

Speaking of apples, I am popping in with a card that I created for this weeks Inspired By Card Challenge. I got a package from Spellbinders last week with the *Welcome Fall cutting dies and I had to use them!!!

Below is the Inspired By Challenge IB189-All the Peels. My card was inspired by the basket on the badge and a bit by the sketch.

If I had actually looked at the badge closely, I should have die cut my basket out of grayer paper. I also could have added some of the filling that is below the apples as I have that in spades for gifts!! However, I was in a rush to get a bunch of cards done so my card is as it is.

I blended *Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for my background and used Tim Holtz Flickering Candle Distress Mica Stain before I added my die cuts. These colors were inspired by the card example on the package!! I always have more than one little something that inspires a card!

I LOVE this die set and have some ideas to use it with some Christmas branches next time!!!

The sentiment is from The Greetery.

Well, that is all from me today. I just wanted to get this out there. I haven't had a bunch of time lately and am flying by the seat of my pants!!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Catherine Pooler Collaboration with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Friday everyone!! So excited for the weekend!!!

Today on the blog I am sharing THREE cards I created in a collaboration with Catherine Pooler Designs and CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Catherine Pooler was so kind to send the design team a package of her AWESOME inks (I received the Carnivale set, along with her Midnight Ink) and I decided use them in three different ways.

For my first card, I used Suede Shoes ink color and the CAS-Fridays Modern Petals Stencil to create a background for my card.

I paired this with the Garden Fri-dies and the soon to be retired Peace and Comfort stamp set to complete my card.

I used Catherine Pooler's "Be Mine" for a little direct to paper action for my pink flowers and the "Mardi Gras" to shade in the green leaves.

I stamped the sentiment from Peace and Comfort using the Midnight Ink

For my second card, I did some ink smooshing on white paper using Catherine Pooler's "Tutti Frutti," "Tiki Torch," "Mardi Gras," and "Lemoncello" dye ink. I then die cut leaves out of the home made paper using CAS-ual Fridays soon to be retired Acorn Fri-dies.

These inks were awesome to use for this technique as they were so pigmented that I didn't have to do a ton of work.

I layered these leaves over a piece of kraft embossed paper that I received as protection from some products in a package!! I love to recycle on a card!!

The stems were die cut from kraft cardstock and shaded in with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

My last card I used a direct to paper technique with a rainbow of inks from Catherine Pooler. I then used some water over the top to get the drips down watercolor paper.

I let the background dry and then sprayed it again with some shimmer spray to make it shine. I paired this background with the CAS-Fridays Be a Unicorn stamp set and matching Unicorn Fri-die.

I used Copic markers to color in my unicorn but I made it a little too dark. Sigh. These things do happen!!!

To finish off my card, I added some clear sequins that I covered with Nuvo Glitter Accents.

My final step was to cover the unicorn horn with the Nuvo Glitter Accents and the entire unicorn with some Wink of Stella. There is a TON of sparkle and shine on this card that was really difficult to photograph. This is my favorite of all three cards!!!!

Thhinking of You with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Saturday everyone!! I hope you all have been enjoying your week.

I start work again on Monday so I have been milking this last week of vacation for all it is worth. This summer FLEW by so fast this year that I really am not ready to go back!! No cleaning done this week but lots of crafting and visiting with girl friends who are difficult to see while I am working.

Today it is my turn over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. In honer of the end of summer, I created more of a fall card. I used Freshly Made Sketches #302 as my design inspiration.

I combined three CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sets-"Autumn Blessings," "Full on Floral," and "Pretty Posies" to make this card.

I started out by doing a bit of ink blending with Distress Inks over a stencil on white card stock to get my circle. I then stamped the sentiment from "Pretty Posies" in brown dye ink underneath. I adhered the white panel over a top folding A2 sized brown card base.

Next I die cut the acorn using CAS-ual Fridays "Acorn Fri-dies" from a scrap piece of polka dot patterned paper and some kraft card stock. I shaded the bottom of the acorn with brown ink and adhered the acorn top over it.

I then die cut the leaves from some white card stock and then did a "stamp kissing" technique over the top of them.

I inked up the leaf stamp from "Autumn Blessings" with red dye ink.

I placed the non inked "Full on Floral" stamp over the inked leaf and then lifted it up.

The floral image took away a bit of the red ink and left an impression on the solid stamp. I then die cut some veins out of brown card stock and adhered them to the red leaf.

I adhered the leaves to the circle and used foam adhesive to pop up the acorn a little bit.

If you like the stamp sets that I used or feel like a shopping spree, use my code nora2017 at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store to get 15% off your total order.

Again, I used Freshly Made Sketches #302 as my layout inspiration for this card.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

October SJ Card Kit Blog Post-"Claudia's Stash"

Okay, I am a day late and a dollar short for this post. I SHOULD have posted this on October 31st when the SJ Card Kit Club blog post went live but with Halloween and then me having book club the next day, I just never got around to it. Shame since I created SIX cards out of the kit that Claudia sent using things from her stash. Please go browse if you have time because many of the people made some terrific cards.

As you can see from the photo above, Claudia sent us stuff to create both fall cards and Halloween cards. I chose to make three of each, though I could have created many more. It was definitely out of my comfort zone because there were NO stamps to color and all die cuts to use. However, it forced me to look at things in a new way and I LOVED it.

For this card, I chose to cut up a bunch of pieces of the patterned papers into strips as my starting off point. The only element that DID NOT come from the kit on this card are the ink that I used to distress the card and the sequins.

I LOVE how this card came out. When I saw the little wagon wheel, I knew I wanted to do a grouping with a pumpkin. I added the sequins as a finishing touch.

This was the simplest card I created. I rarely do simple these days but I LOVE how it came out. I even already sent this card out too!!

My last three were Halloween cards. Claudia sent the cutest ghosts and I just had to use them. I apologize because I know Halloween is over but I wanted to post them anyway.

One of the things I noticed right off the bat is I only own ONE Halloween stamp set. Claudia did not send any sentiments so what is a girl to do? I created one using stickers!! I added yellow Stickles to the eyes and mouth of the ghost for a bit more oomph.

For this card, I used the ribbon, patterned paper and ghost that were in the kit. I die cut the polka paper into a banner and tied the ribbon around it. I then added a foam panel to make it POP off the card. The sentiment is from the only stamp set I own that is a Halloween set. Instead of yellow Stickles, I added some Diamond colored Stickles to the ghost eyes.

My last card is simple. I die cut the polka paper and the black and white block to house the ghost. I added some vellum behind the ghost to give the eyes and mouth a "smokey" look. The sentiment I stamped and embossed.

I thank you for stopping by and viewing all my creations. This "kit club" had been so fun for me and I LOVE all the fun things I created with it.

Have a fabulous day!!
