CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Peace and Comfort

Happy Sunday everyone!! It is my turn over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog.

Today I am sharing a card I created using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Peace and Comfort set. However, I wanted something more on my card so I used the leaves in a bit of a different way.

Instead of just stamping a single leaf on the flowers, I made some leaf branches.

I stamped both of the solid leaves in the stamp set in green, connecting the two in the middle. Then I took a green marker and created a stalk that kept the leaves together, as well as shaded in some detail.

Next I stamped the flowers in a peach color and used then used the over stamp in a coral color to make the rose. I stamped leaves onto the flowers using a different color green then the leaf branches and used the coordinating outline in a third green color.

I used one of the heart stamps in Love and Coffee  and a purple marker to create some little yellow flowers.

I then splashed the background with yellow, lavender, and gold mist spray. When it was dry, I layered some paper scraps over the front. I used a masking technique to emboss the sentiment from the Peace and Comfort set onto a scrap of white card stock in gold.

I popped the sentiment up from my card using foam adhesive.

I actually had a lot of fun looking at my stamps to see if I could use them in a slightly different way. I hope this card inspires you to take a look at your stamps and see what you can come up with.

Twofer Challenge Cards

Hello everyone!! Today is a snow day here and I thought I would post a couple cards.

Have you heard about the new Twofer Challenge Blog? My Bloggy friend Darnell started it and I decided to join the challenge this month.

The challenge this month was to use feathers as your inspiration.

This weekend I created some backgrounds using some of my Tonic products with a Hero Arts Peacock Stencil to make some backgrounds.

For my first card I also used CASE this Sketch #254 very LOOSELY for my inspiration.

I used Nuvo Pacific Teal Embellishment Mousse with the Hero Arts Stencil. I used a frame I die cut with an MFT die and then emphasized the feather with Stickles and a sequin.

I used WPlus9 Basic Greeting for the sentiment.

For my second card, I used Nuvo Blue Topaz Glimmer Paste with the stencil.

I know peacocks really don't "fly" but I used the PaperTrey Ink "Feather Finery" stamp set for the sentiment. I layered it over a piece of silver thread and some shiny card stock.

I topped it off with a silver bird die cut and some blue sequins.

I thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are all warm and cozy!!! Have a great night!!

Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

This has been day three of posting. I am attempting to post MORE this year, which means taking more time to create. This is a win-win for me!!

I created a card for Paper Smooches January "Anything Goes" challenge. Unfortunately everything on my card was not Paper Smooches but the main focal point-the pineapple-is a Paper Smooches die.

I started off this card by die cutting patterned paper scraps in tan and green using Paper Smooches "Pineapple 2" die. I then paper pieced them together. I added some google eyes and a scrap of red for the smile.

I layered an A2 sized card where I had used Ranger Distress Ink to blend in a background and over a kraft die cut that was literally lying on my desk. I die cut the hello sentiment out of yellow card stock and then added some sequins on the card. Easy Peasy!!

Again, I am linking this up to Paper Smooches January "Anything Goes" challenge.

That is all from me today!! I thank you for stopping by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

Sip Sip Hooray!!

Happy Monday everyone!!

I am popping in quick to show you another card that I created this weekend. I used another Inky Antic stamp set-"Wine Time #2"-for my card. Again, I had colored these images in a while ago and am just using them on a card. Does anyone else do this?

I used the "As You See it Challenge #167" as my inspiration for this card. Instead of using the word balloon on the rectangle, I used it above. I thought is was the perfect way to get my sentiment on the card.

I thought that all these whites matched until I started editing my photo. I have so many different white papers that sometimes I mess up!! I still like the card anyway.

I also created an inside to adhere to the card. I have been trying to do this more. I don't adhere it, though, until I use it.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Few Challenges with the Mess on my Desk

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoyed your weekend.

Today I am here with a couple cards I created using the mess on my desk and some scraps.

First I created a card for Freshly Made Sketches #319  using the "Lounging Wine Lady" from Inky Antics. I have to admit, I am kind of obsessed with wine stamps and had to add this one to my collection. The funny thing is that I really DO NOT love wine. I prefer margaritas IF I drink, which is not all that often.

I had previously colored in the wine lady with Copic markers while I was watching TV with my husband. I pulled her out and then layered her over a patterned paper scrap and a piece of MFT Sno Cone card stock that I had cut in half and folded to make a 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" card.

Here is the sketch I used as my inspiration:

When I looked at the sentiments on the stamp set, I decided to use this one because I could use a strip for the last line.

My next card I created a birthday card using the "Spring Chicken" stamp set by Art Impressions. Once again, I had colored in the chickens months ago and did nothing. When I saw the sketch for TGIF Challenge #142, I knew that I had to use this. I am also entering this into Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes.

I decided to flip the sketch so that the white panel would be on the bottom.

I adhered orange patterned paper over the background of the card and used a Lawn Fawn "Stitched Scalloped Border" die to cut the blue, scalloped border.

I then die cut my chicken panel with the Lawn Fawn "Stitched Journaling Card" die and adhered it over the scalloped border to the card front.

My last step was to add the stamped sentiment and then use a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen, as well as some Glossy Accents and glitter glue to spruce some of the little elements up.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!
