The Mess on my Desk Card Day #3

Hello everyone!! I am officially back to work today so I am trying to post this before I start. I enjoyed my summer off so much and am not ready to go back. The summer went by way too fast!!

Today I am posting a card that I created using the Paper Trey Ink stamp set "Pedal Pusher." For some reason, I had to have this set. Then it sat in my never-been-used pile for months. I pulled it out to play with before I went on vacation but never made a card with it. The bike was half put together in a pile of stuff on my desk. Yup, another "what is on my desk" card.

I figured I post the mess on my desk so you could see what I am up against. This is the stuff I can see too. I have a little box full of die cuts and such that I don't look through enough that has tons of things to use too.

I did a lot of fussy cutting with the bike. I die cut and stamped it in three different colors-Pure Poppy, black and gray. I then fussy cut it to assemble so that the chain was in gray, the handlebars and seat in black. I cheated with the pedal by coloring that in with a marker. Shhh-don't tell anyone!!

To make the wheels, I actually used a mask to get the gray "spokes" and the black "tires." I didn't have time to make a card with it so I set it aside for another day.

This card design is a CASE of a card design using this set by Dawn McVey. Here is the link to Dawn's card. Her card is a little more bright and happy then mine but I chose the colors for a reason. I thought the red and yellow would pop more if I used a black background.

I used a basic black card base and layered a piece of patterned paper by PTI that I die cut using an MFT die. I then adhered the bike to the card. Usually I would use adhesive foam but because I had several layers of card stock on the bike, I didn't think it needed it.

I then die cut two banners, one in red and one in yellow, out of scrap paper. I used a masking technique when I stamped to split the sentiment up for the two banners.

I adhered the banners to the left hand side of my card and then added a few enamel dots.

My last step was to add some diamond Stickles into the flowers on the front of the bike to give them a little shine.

Inside I added a white die cut rectangle to make it easier for me to write something when I send the card. I also added a die cut heart that was hanging around.

I LOVE how this card came out and want to make a set to give someone for Christmas. What do you think?

I am entering this in to this months STAMPlorations August Challenge-Stamps and Die Cuts.

I appreciate you stopping by. Tune in later this week for a fourth "what is on my desk" card. Have a great day!!
