WPlus9 Week 2 Birthday Challenge

Today I am playing along with WPlus9. They are celebrating their 4th Birthday and have been issuing some fun challenges.

The challenge was to create a card that contained dimension. I chose to make a card that utilized die cutting and stamping. First I die cut a 3" by 4" card with a heart using my Silhouette Cameo. I then used WPlus9 Knit stamp. I thought this stamp looked a little bit like hearts so it was perfect for a little pink border. Then I sprayed it with some Heidi Swapp citron mist spray.

I then layered the card over a piece of Bo Bunny patterned paper with foam adhesive. I then wrapped a piece of pink twine around the card and set aside.

Next I stamped the green patterned paper with a different stamp from the "Knit" stamp set and inked the edges with Vintage photo ink. I then adhered the heart card over the green, placing it on a diagonal.

I then die cut the word "love" using WPlus9's "Seasonal Sentiments Die out of green paper and 5 pieces of white paper. I layered and glued the white paper together, and then glued the green over that. I wanted to give the word dimension without using foam adhesive. I layered the word over the card and added a pink heart in the middle of the o. The sequins and a bit of Wink of Stella glitter pen was added last.

I think you can see the dimension a little bit better in the photo above.

I have to say that this was the most fun I have had in a while. I had fun using a stamp in a different way (and using it for the first time, I might add!) I also liked cutting the different layers of card stock to create layers for the die cut sentiment rather then using foam adhesive. I really enjoyed playing along with WPlus9's second Birthday challenge.

Festive Friday #24 Card

Hello!! Just a quick post to show you the card I created for the Festive Friday Challenge blog.

The challenge was to use the photo below to inspire a card.

Here is the card that was inspired by this image.

I was inspired by the pinecones in the photo and the touch of dark red. I used mostly Paper Trey Ink products on this card. To do the pinecones, I first stamped in chocolate ink. Then I colored in various areas with a versa mark pen and embossed in white. To finish them off, I used my finger and smudged gold Stickles over the white areas.

I like how the pinecones themselves came out but the pine is way too green for me. I should have done them a different color.

Thank you for stopping by!! Have a great day!!
