Paper Craft Crew Challenge #300 and Color Throwdown #503

Happy Friday!! Is everyone gearing up for the weekend? We are going to some soccer games with family on Sunday. My husband has not been feeling to well this week and keeping me up coughing so I hope I will be able to stay awake!!! (I can sleep anywhere!!)

Today I am posting two cards that I created using scraps and the mess on my desk. Both are thank you cards and I used the sketch from the Paper Craft Crew as a jumping off point.

For my first card, I used die cuts from MFT and Paper Smooches for the flowers and the leaves.

I clustered them together and added some Nuvo Crystal drops in "Caribbean Ocean" to give the card a bit of dimension. I left this kind of flat because I will be sending this out to someone.

Here is the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #300 that was my inspiration:

Isn't it fabulous? I could make about 20 cards with the flower die cuts I have!!

For my second card, I was inspired by the sketch and the colors from the Color Throwdown Blog #503.

I did add some black into the mix, though so not sure if it will be accepted.

I actually like this card better then the first. I used a score board to emboss the front to give it a bit more oomph.

I also like the black and white paper on the edge. This I pulled from my ever growing scrap drawer.

I did add another banner in patterned paper on both cards that the sketch doesn't have. I just thought it looked a bit better with my design.

That is all from me today. Thank you for looking!!!

Freshly Made Sketches #347 and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes"

Happy Thursday!

Just popping to to showcase a quick card. I have been making my craft room messy again after cleaning it for Charlotte's party. I am trying to use bits and pieces that I have stamped or die cut previously to add to my cards.

The little elephant and the mouse are from Hello Bluebirds "Puddle Play" stamp set. I chose to have the elephant protecting the mouse from the sun, though, instead of using the umbrella for rain. I saw a lot of people using their umbrellas at Disney as parasols!! Such an old fashioned idea!!

I used the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #347 as my inspiration for this card. I flipped the sketch, though and would have used a bigger sun but didn't have the right size die.

I used Distress Ink in *Tumbled Glass,  *Vintage Photo,” and *"Antique Linen" to shade the background. I used the MFT "Stencil Cloud" for the sky. *Copic Markers were used to color in the critters.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things "More Essential Sentiments" set, which I just received. I think I am going to get a lot of use from this!!

I am also entering this into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes."

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a FABULOUS afternoon.

CASE this Sketch Challenge #28, Global Design Project Challenge #147 and More MFT Birthday Chicks

Happy Monday!! Just popping in to post two cards that I created over the weekend. I noticed a couple weeks ago that I didn't have any more birthday cards in my stash so I decided that I need to make some. Now only if I sent them out!!

The first card I created for CAS(E) this Sketch #281.

I have had these "Farmyard Little Bits" from Hello Bluebird on my desk for a week and decided that this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch #281 was PERFECT for the little images. HOWEVER, I flipped the sketch horizontally to place the pigs where they looked best.

Can you see it? I hope so. Since I used pigs, I am also entering this into the Global Design Team Project Theme Challenge. It is a teeny bit of a stretch BUT if they don't like it, they can delete it.

Soooo, I chose to make the sentiment kind of the showcase and the little pigs the decorations for the card.

I had fun coloring the pigs in with Copic markers, some gel pen and then going over some of the features with sparkle marker and Glossy Accents.

I kind of made it more masculine by using a darker patterned paper in the background. Yes, I know there is pink on this card BUT since it is a heart, so what?

For my second card, I used a Freshly Made Sketch #345 as my inspiration. Since I didn't photograph the card, I never got it into the challenge. Hate when that happens!!

Here is my card:

I used a TON of different stamp sets for this card. MFT "Birthday Chicks" and "Celebrate with Cake"(retired) stamp set, PTI "Stylish Sentiment-Birthday,"  and Winnie and Walter "Scenery-The Party Hangover."

I am really trying to make an attempt to dig out stamp sets I have not used in a while and use them again. It was fun to create this little scene!!

I am also going to enter this in to Seize the Birthday Challenge-Anything Goes.

That is all for today!! Have a GREAT Monday!!

Cards for Some Challenges

Hello everyone!! I thought I would be posting more but came back from a Disney vacation last Sunday and it took me almost a week to recover from it. We had A LOT of fun-Charlotte's last hurrah before she starts school August 18th. However, Disney is NOT what you call a "relaxing" vacation. You spend all that money you want to get your money's worth!!

I was able to make a few cards this week. I am trying to participate in more challenges!!

The first two cards I created I made for the July Twofer Challenge.

The theme for this month was "beverage."

I had to use the same stamps and make two different cards from them, for two different occasions.

I used the Fusion Challenge this week for the card sketch, as well as Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes" theme as a jump off for my first card.

I am planning on making another card for Seize the Birthday WITH the stripes topping but just didn't have not gotten around to it!

I had created these bottles a long time ago and had them in my stash so it was fun to pull them out. The first card I created for a birthday. I used the MFT "Soda Pop" stamp set and the "Soda Pop" die-namics for this card.

My second card was more of an "all occasion" card. I just really wanted to put different labels on the colored bottles so used all but the birthday. I also went back and fixed the glitter on the lime label. It kind of dried altogether. I took a pin and separated it but didn't feel like retaking the photo.

I am also posting a card I created with the mess from my desk. I often stamp and color things then they sit on my desk.

The flowers and the dragon fly are from two different Hero Arts Sets. I masked the flower from "Marianne's Flowers" and used Copic Markers to color them in.

The sentiment is from Altenew's "Beautiful Quotes" stamp set. I LOVE this stamp set!!

That is all from me today. Have a fabulous night!!

A Card for Fab Friday Challenge #141, Happy Little Stampers CAS July 2018 Challenge 2018 and Paper Players Theme Challenge: Celebration

Happy Sunday everyone!! I have ANOTHER card that I created using MFT "Birthday Chicks" stamp set. I LOVE this set and am so glad that I bought it. I need to play around with masking them to make a grouping but that is a whole different post!!!

I created this card for a couple of challenges today.

I used three challenges for my inspiration. First, I used the FAB Friday Challenge #141 for the design of my card. I used the Happy Little Stampers CAS July Challenge "Animals" for the little birds and the theme is from the Paper Players Challenge #400-Celebration!!!

I am so happy to a) have the time to create cards again and b) able to play along with some challenges. I have not had the time to sit down and do any of this for so long.

The little chicks were colored in with Copic markers. The Glossy Accents on the balloon changed up the pink, though, which kind of irritated me. I need to do some test samples on how the color changes when I use this.

This card is already gone!! I gave it to my friend to give to her mother. LOVE when my cards get a happy home!! I thank you for stopping by today!! Have a FABULOUS Sunday!!

MFT Summer School Cards

Hello everyone!! I know I posted today already but wanted to quickly pop in with two cards I created for MFT Summer School 2018-Primary Colors.

This was my first card for the challenge. I used the My Favorite Things "Celebrate Speech Bubble" die to die cut a white speech bubble and then used the same die for the red. I then covered the red letters with clear sparkle pen and Glossy Accents. Have to admit that it made the red a bit darker then I wanted but I had to go with it.

I then added the little birdies from the MFT "Birthday Chicks" set. During the last 30 Coloring Challenge I colored a boatload of the birds in all different shades. I picked out a couple to use on this card, along with the balloon.

I added another bird on the top right and then used Clear Sparkle Pen and Glossy Accents on the hats and the balloon.

For my second card, I used the red celebrate speech bubble and complemented it with some more little birds from "Birthday Chicks."

On this card, I used yellow and blue birds for the card. I popped them up with foam adhesive and added some "sprinkles" to the tiny cupcakes with Stickles, as well as some sparkle to the blue bird's hat.

I still have a ton of these birds to use too and even stamped and die cut more just in case I needed them!!

That is all from me tonight. Again, I am entering these cards into the MFT Summer School Challenge 2018-Primary Colors.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS night!!!

MFT Summer School: Complementary Colors and AAA Cards Challenge #118

Happy Saturday!! Just popping in to show you the cards I created for the MFT Summer School using Complementary Colors. I actually used Stephanie Klauk's technique of using solid flowers from different sets to stamp multiple cards at once. I don't have a ton but it was fun using what I had!!

Here are my cards:

This card is actually my favorite. I LOVE orange and blue and a combo of the two!! I figured that adding the "let's eat cake" sentiment I can make this into a birthday card!!

This card is okay. I don't love the yellow. I think if I had to do it over I would use a different shade of the yellow. I added some sparkle onto the "Hugs" sentiment to give it a little shine.

The card below is my least favorite. I LOVE the colors BUT did not have an MFT sentiment large enough to really do this card justice. Guess who put in an order yesterday for some more sentiments? I should have just used another companies Christmas dies, which I have a lot of.

I am entering all these cards into the Complementary Colors page of MFT.

I am also entering the first card into AAA Cards Challenge #118 which was to Use a Frame

Thank you for stopping by and have a GREAT day!!
