Coffee Lover's Blog Hop with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Friday everyone!! I cannot believe that September is almost over!!

Today is National Coffee Day and I am here with a card that I created a card using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps as part of a Coffee Lover's Blog Hop at the Coffee Lovers Cardmakers Blog.

Hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog for all the links to some fabulous cards and fun prizes!!

I created a card that would hold a gift card.

I started off stamping the background of a 5" by 11" piece of kraft card stock that I had folded down the middle using the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Peace, Love and Coffee Stamp set. I then used a corner rounder to round the edges. I inked up the edges using two types of brown Distress Ink.

Next I die cut a a tag using the Tag Buddies Fri-Dies and a blue coffee cup using the Coffee Cup Fri-Dies.

I used Distress Ink to blend brown around the edges of the tag, added a scalloped red piece of card stock to the edge and some ribbon at the top. I adhered the tag using foam adhesive. I stamped a sentiment on to the coffee cup in brown using the CAS-ual Fridays Hot Coffee stamp set. I adhered the cup over the tag. I opened the card up and used 1/4" score tape on either side of the card to make a pocket.

I set this aside and created a little insert for inside the pocket. I folded a piece of 3 1/2" by 8 1/2" piece of kraft card stock and stamped a background on the front of the pocket using the Peace, Love, and Coffee set. I then used the So Pretty stamp set for the sentiment.

I then inked up the edges of the entire panel with two colors of Distress Ink. I tucked a gift card inside and it was ready to slide into the pocket!!

Here are both the pocket and gift card insert side by side. This was so fun to make and I cannot wait to send it to my friend!!!

I thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a fabulous Friday!!

My Favorite Things You Could Be a Card Design Superstar

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you all had a nice weekend. It has been beautiful here in Connecticut after a week of rain. Low humidity and sunny. I am looking forward to fall temperatures, though. It is my favorite time of year!!

I have been busy making cards but not having much time to actually post. I am hoping to do better this week.

Today I am posting 2 cards that I created for the My Favorite Things You Could Be a 2018 Card Design Superstar Challenge.

It is a TOTAL long shot because there are some FABULOUS designers that have posted but I figured I would give it a shot. You can't win if you don't play!!

My first card is for the Clean and Simple category.

I stamped the background on a Persimmon cardstock folded into a 4" by 5 1/2" card base using the MFT's Striped Background stamp (retired) in MFT Persimmon dye ink.

Next I die cut a Mesmerizing Mandala Die-namics and heat embossed it using pearl embossing powder. I adhered it over the card base, with just a smidge overhanging the right side. I thought the Mandala looked like a snowflake so I figured on a Christmas theme for this card.

I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from MFT's Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set and used foam adhesive to pop it off the mandala. I then used Tonic Rosewater Jewel Drops to adhere some sequins from the Princess Sequins Kit.

My second card is a long shot but I am entering it into the Coloring Virtuoso Category.

I originally tried to create a background using Copic markers but it didn't turn out so I used images from the MFT Birthday Chicks stamp and Die set to create the card.

I used Copic markers to color in the birds using a dot method. I wanted them to look like they had little feathers.

I adhered them over a white, MFT Single Stitch Line Tag Corner Square Frame Die-namic. I then adhered a cupcake from the same stamp set that I had colored in using Copics, covered the top with Glossy Accents and adhered some sprinkles on top.

My last step was to adhere the sentiment, also from the Birthday Chicks stamp set, onto the front of the card.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope you all have a fabulous day!!

Time to Party with CAS(E) This Sketch #287 and Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes"

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope all you Americans are enjoying your day off. I can smell the short ribs right now that my husband is smoking on the deck.

I have been working on cleaning up my room today and getting some projects done. I used the scraps on my desk to make the card below for CAS(E) this Sketch #287.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card:

I stamped the border using Mama Elephant's "Swinging Borders" set on a diagonal. I colored in the banner using yellow, green and purple Copic markers.

Instead of using a rectangle piece of paper, I decided to just use the hippo image and balloons from My Favorite Things "Happy Hippos" stamp set.

I added clear sparkle marker over the banner and used Glossy Accents over the balloon.

I am also entering this into the Seize The Birthday "Anything Goes" challenge.

While doing all of this, I have been watching some interesting movies on human trafficking. It DOES NOT only go on in other countries but right here in the USA-Dallas, Houston, New Orleans are just a few of the BIG cities. Amazon Prime has a fictitious movie that I viewed and then I watched the documentary "Stopping Traffic." It is truly disturbing but we need to stop this!!!

Anyway, I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a fabulous night!!
