Happy Sunday, another Simon Says "Superhero" Entry and 30 Day Color Challenge

Hello everyone!! This weekend FLEW by and I did not get as far as I wanted in my chores. This week is swamped so I know they won't get done either so I am thinking next week is when I start the summer projects.

Instead of chores, I did quite a lot of shopping. I took Charlotte shopping for bathing suits. This is the second time we have gone out and thank goodness Target had some that she liked. Shopping for bikini's with a 14 year old IS NOT FUN!!!! I have to admit that I don't love bikini's either but it is what all the girls are wearing and I fight my battles where I can. I also could not wear a bikini at her age-I was too fat. I am trying to have Char feel good about her body so I would never say she couldn't wear one.

I also bought a baby present for my cousin. Now that is something I can sink my teeth into. Gymboree used to be my favorite store when Char was little so I went there to buy a couple outfits for a future cousin. I bought these two one pieces with matching socks for each.

You may disagree but buying something for a boy is not as fun as a girl. They had some cute stuff but my eye kept turning to the adorable girl outfits. I need someone to have a baby girl so I can shop for her. (Chris does not-I used to spend A LOT at Gymboree because I had to buy all the matching accessories too. He was quite glad when Char grew out of that store!!)

I did have time in my craft room while some of my twelve loads of laundry were being done. (I offered to do Charlotte's this weekend as she has not done any for three weeks. She usually does her own.) I decided something this weekend as I was coloring. I HATE making one layer cards. I was using this adorable stamp from Penny Black "Fragrant," had it almost all colored in and splash!, my green Copic started to leak. I was SO MAD. I hate almost being done with something and having my card ruined. There was no way I could save it either.

I did complete one last Super Hero card for Simon Says Stamps "Wednesday" Challenge and the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

Again, I used the Mama Elephant set "Tiny Heroes." The color scheme is similar to my last post but instead of the boy, I used one of the girls.

Isn't she cute? I used the blue diamond dust paper from Paper Adventures again as the background. I couldn't resist!! I also used the negatives from the boy card I created and posted the other day.

My embossing was not so hot on this card but that is okay. I used white pigment ink and I did not use my static guard brush before I stamped. I am always in such a hurry and forget that step but it is an important step. I was too lazy to go back and do it again. The card is hand made and I like the imperfection.

Here is a close up of the little girl. I should say that I highlighted both of these little images with Wink of Stella. Hard to tell, I know.

Anyway, that is all for today. Until next time... (which will probably be next week at the rate I am going!!)

Another Simon Says "Super Hero" entry with Mama Elephant

Happy Thursday!! Right now I am supposed to be sitting down with some new stuff I got in the mail yesterday and today but instead I have been online commenting and now I am blogging. Chris is getting home tomorrow and I did not get any of the creative stuff done that I wanted to this week.

I also have to be very quiet as Charlotte is studying downstairs tonight. I like her to be in a public space in our house so I know she is doing what she is supposed to. Final exams can be grade killers!!

I have also been browsing blogs and seeing MORE new things that I want. I am loving the new color stamp pads from Simon Says Stamp.
Aren't they so happy and fun? I need more ink like I need a hole in the head so these are not something that I am going to be able to purchase right away. I already have trouble storing what I do have.

I also NEED that new "Many Thanks" set of stamps that they did with WPlus9.
I love the watercolor look and could see me making many beautiful cards. I think I need to purge a little before I can justify buying this set, though.

Then there is the new sneak peek from Mama Elephant. They posted previews of some of their new sets yesterday. I am in big trouble!!

Then last but not least, the new release from Paper Trey Ink that is being revealed. Wow!! I need to win the lotto!

My card supplies that I have not cracked open are starting to take over my room and I need to begin to have a little self control. I sometimes wish that there would be more time in between the releases too. By the time I get a stamp set that I want, there are 15 other new ones that come out from that company that are on a wish list. My goal this summer is to have fun with what I have. Am I the only one that is swimming with unused stuff?

Now for why I REALLY wrote this post tonight-my last Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" card that I wanted to share. This one is more for a little boy and I used primary colors for the card.

(I apologize for the blue sticking up at the top. I did not notice it until I took the photo and cut it off.)

I am not going to do a step by step of what I did for this because I think you get the idea by just looking at it. The blue paper is a bit of a stretch for me, though. It was a sparkle paper that I had in my stash. One of those things I bought YEARS ago and could not part with. I knew I would find somewhere to use it and this was perfect under that white die cut. This is why I have trouble purging. You never know when you will need it!

Once again, I am entering this into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge-"Friends or Superhero."

I think this suits the bill perfectly!! They are also showcasing Mama Elephant, which is one of my FAVORITE stamp companies. (I have a lot of favorites, though!!)

I want to thank you for stopping by tonight. I hope you have a fabulous Friday!1

I've been Spotted, another Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" card, a busy Wednesday and a Simon Says Friends or Superhero Challenge

Hello my friends!! I am sitting her trying to wind down from my very busy day. I feel like all I have done since I left work today is drive.

Char had two different tutors today. She is presently being tutored in math and English for her exams. While she was at one of her tutor's, I ran to the gym to do a quick workout. I am trying to get that in as much as possible this week since I have eaten Whoopee pies for breakfast for the past two days. Sigh. There is only one left and I already know it is for my breakfast tomorrow and then they will be gone until I make them in the fall for work. (Work loves my Whoopee Pies so I bring them in once in a while for my department.)

To top my night off, I had to take our dog to the vet. He has an ear infection!! I think it was from when I gave him a bath a couple weeks ago. Now he has to have ear treatments twice a day and he was not so thrilled with the first. I also gave him another bath when we got home because he was lying on the vet's floor. That grosses me out.

Today I am sharing two things. One is the link to a scrapbook layout that I did last month. I used some Jillibean Soup paper and Jen Harkin asked if she could put it on the Bean Talk blog for her "Soup Spotting" post today. I was really flattered and of course I said sure!!! It is one of my favorite pages to date.

I also wanted to share the second of my Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" cards that I created. I had a lot of fun creating a little "scene" in back of this one.

I used my new My Favorite Things die to cut out the polka dot patterned paper and mounted it onto a top folding card. I then die cut a rounded rectangle and masked off a strip with post it tape and blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink in the center.

Next I masked the yellow off and inked the sky in with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment and then mounted the square onto the card front using foam adhesive.

I used a cloud die from Paper Trey Ink to die cut some clouds and then sponged the edges with some Tumbled Glass. I mounted them onto the rectangle so that the outer edges of each were hanging off the sides. I then used foam adhesive to mount my "Tiny Heroes" image. The last step was to randomly adhere sequins.

I LOVE how this came out, with the exception of the smudged sentiment. I used Wink of Stella on this part (not that you can tell from the photo!) and it smudged. I had already put it together when I noticed and I know I will ruin it if I take it apart.

I am entering this into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Friends or Superhero." I think it is perfect for this!!

I thank you for stopping by. Farewell until next time....
