Guest Designer at Time Out Challenge #233

 Hello friends!!

Today I am popping into my blog with a card I made as a Guest Designer at Time Out Challenges #233. It is a THEME challenge this time around-ELEGANT.

I won the chance for this GD gig and I was so excited to be asked!!

There is a sponsor for this challenge this time around. Altenew is the sponsor and the
prize is a $25 store credit to the Altenew Store

Due to the fact that Altenew is the sponsor, I created a card using some of the new Decorative Enamels Die Set

I started off by die cutting a few papers that I made using oxide ink and a gel plate. I then layered this over a piece of pattern paper the "Grunge" 6" by 6" paper pad from the Craft Consortium.

The die cut sentiment is from my stash. I believe it is from Paper Trey Ink? The black flag is form my stash too.

I hope you like my card. Please hop on over to Time Out Challenges for more information on the challenge!! I cannot wait to see what you create!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. I hope you had a FABULOUS day!!

Week Two of Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #535

 Happy Monday everyone!!

Today starts week two of the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #535-to use coffee or tea time theme on a card. Last week I made a coffee themed card so I decided that this week I would dig out some of my tea themed stamps to create my card.

The badge below is the challenge badge for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #535, though I only used the theme and not the badge itself as inspiration.

I used the Hello and Thanks Stamp and Die set from WPlus9 to create this card. I had so much fun coloring and layering on this card.

The dies rectangle dies are from Paper Trey Ink.

That is all from me today. I hope that this card inspires you to hop on over and play with us at the Cupcake Inspiration Blog. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

I want to thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Belated Birthday Using the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #531-Week 2

Hey Crafty Friends!! I hope you are all doing well.

Today I am back with a belated birthday card I created using this weeks Cupcake Inspirations Color Challenge #531.

We were to use the colors Tangerine, Brown and Blue.

I started off by die cutting blue cardstock with a Stamp Market Die.

I layered a jar and flowers from The Greetery. I used Kat Scrappiness Sparkling Snow Pearls for the middle of the flowers of the hydrangeas.

The little bird is from Paper Trey Ink. I printed the sentiment out myself from the computer.

I hope you come and play with us this week at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #531. I cannot wait to see what you create.

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Graduation Cards in August??

Happy Saturday everyone!! It is a PERFECT DAY in Connecticut-sunny, not too hot and very low humidity. I wish all days could be like this!!

Today I am popping in with some Graduation cards. Yes, you heard it right, I am posting Graduation cards in August. To be honest, I had the last three cards created in May but only sent out one! The card below I made this week to send out to one of my husband's cousins.

I used this weeks Global Design Project's Sketch (#GPD302)- as the bones of my card. I did change the "label" on the sketch to the numbers block. I figured attaching the numbers, the hat and the sentiment would work well for this sketch.

I used an MFT Blueprints Die to die cut the white and black polka dot stitched stripes. The mirrored cardstock numbers were die cut from Chrome Silver Tonic Cardstock using The Greetery's Bold Numbers Dies

The little cap was die cut using the Sugar Pea Designs For the Graduate dies and the sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

I cannot tell you how much fun it was to make this card! I am also going to enter this in this weeks Watercooler Wednesday Challenge-wwc321. It is Tristan's challenge and it is to make a Masculine card.

Even though this is for a girl, I am thinking it is more generic than most of the cards I create.

I created the next two cards for my cousins. They are twins and graduated HS in May. I just sent out the cards on Thursday. I am so horrible!!!

Again, I used The Greetery's Bold Numbers Dies as my focal point and built on this with a retired Paper Trey Ink set.

I added some scraps of silver cardstock behind the numbers to ground the whole focal point.

For the second card, I used black paper over a white card base, with silver numbers.

The hat is from Paper Trey Ink and the sentiment is from a retired CAS-ual Fridays stamp.

The black paper on the card front was from my scraps and is actually HALLOWEEN paper!! It didn't have a distinct Halloween pattern so I used it.

I am posting one more card that I forgot I made. I created this one for my nephew's college graduation. This was the only card that was sent out on time!!

I have to admit that this was the first card I created and actually was the inspiration for the second card I posted. Instead of using silver cardstock behind the numbers, I chose to randomly adhere silver paper stars.

I am so happy with how all these cards came out and am just ashamed of myself that it took so long for me to send them!

That is it for me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by.
Have a FABULOUS day!!

With Deepest Sympathy

Just popping in with a card I created yesterday for two challenges.

I was inspired by two challenges for this card-Freshly Made Sketches #433 and this weeks The Color Throwdown #591.

I knew I wanted to do these two challenges in tandem so I dug through my supplies and pulled out this butterfly from PaperTrey Ink's A Bit More Butterfly Blooms stamp set. I had gotten this set AGES ago and had yet to ink it up. I decided this was the perfect card to ink it up for.

I heat embossed the butterfly and colored it in with Zig markers. I pulled these out to try something a little different. I haven't been doing a ton of coloring lately and when I do, it is always with Copic. I am not great with these but they were fun to use.

Even the ink smooshing I did with the purple marker that I colored in the tiny dots in the wings. Mixed with water it turned out a bit more pink than I had wanted. However, I decided that it looked good with the butterfly so I kept it.

The sentiment is also from a PaperTrey Ink stamp set-Words of Comfort. This particular sentiment stamp is the one I use over and over.

Well, that is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #2

Happy Saturday everyone!! I am so excited today to bring you my post for the second challenge over at Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #2. Are you ready?

Here is the card the inspiration card:

Like the first challenge, I chose to use the middle going from left to right-holiday, 100% stamped, and die-cuts. I decided to make the "holiday" Valentine's Day. Here is the card I created:

I am going to let you in on a little secret here-this was NOT the card I intended to make. I really wanted to make a one layer card with the die cutting being just the frame. I made masks, did the layering and thought I was doing fine. HOWEVER, when I stamped the pink "shelf" underneath, this is what happened.

See the how the pink got on the cup and the saucer? I was not happy since this was the FOURTH time I stamped this card and on each time SOMETHING went wrong. I really liked my overall design so I was determined to make lemonade out of lemons!! To solve my problem, I stamped and die cut a tea cup instead and adhered it over the "mistake." Problem solved!!

I added a bit of glossy accents over the stamped hearts, as well as die cut, stamped and adhered a flower and leaf accent on the coffee pot.

As and added bonus, I am going to post the FIRST card I created using this same design. This was my "test" run.

This was how the first card was supposed to look, minus the awful polka dots. This card is not horrible BUT I did not like how the sentiment was not clear, hence me attempting to re-do it.

Please hop on over to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge to play along with me and the other design team members. Thanks for stopping by!!
