Last month was a very dry month for me card wise. However, it did not stop me from buying stuff, much to my husband's chagrin. Every time I bought a Christmas present for someone it seems like I bought one for me!
I also got a full set of Tombow Dual Brush Markers from my husband for Christmas. My list wasn't that long (as you can see I bought stuff for myself!) and the markers were expensive so I would never have bought them for myself. Now to figure out how I will use them to their best potential!
I am waiting for two more orders this week and am OFFICIALLY on a buying freeze. I am going to aim for June but not sure if I can wait that long.
My goal is to use all the products I have never used before, as well as purge a ton of stuff before I start buying again. The purging part is hard for me as I do not like to get rid of my craft stuff. I do eventually come around to using it and when I have given stuff away, I usually regret it. Am I the only one like this?
And now a card!! I created this for my friend who lost her mother last week. I used two Hero Arts stamp sets on this card. For the flowers I used "Color Layering for You Flower's Bundle" and for the sentiment I used "Prayers Stamp and Cut" set.
I have decided that since I have gotten the MISTI stamp tool, I love multi-step stamped images. I could go in and color the flowers to give them more depth but you don't need to.
I used two different Heidi Swapp Colorshine Mists on this-"Tinsel" and "Amethyst," as well as Tim Holtz Distress Stain in "Shaded Lilac" to get a kind of messy look. Death is messy so I think it was a perfect addition to this card.
I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Start Afresh" and A Blog Named Hero's "New to Me" challenge as the prayers stamp set was a set that I had never inked up before.
That is all for me today. Tune in tomorrow for some inspiration for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.
Thanks for stopping by. Your taking the time to read my blog means so much to me!!

What a haul! Lovely inks. I love those tombow markers. They are so vibrant! Your card is beautiful. Love how you interpreted death...:) Hugs!
I've only had a few regrets about the stamps I've given away. Not too many, because I've fallen in love with new sets! And I'm on a budget at least for January...maybe...Your card is lovely. And death is definitely messy. Emotions all over the place, empty spaces, and the sense that someone is missing.... Your card will bring comfort to your friend for certain. This is full of sweetness. Have fun tomorrow! Bev
Oh, you had me at 'shopping' in your blog title!! What a great haul. You will have fun working your way through that. Your card today is just stunning. I love the design and colors, and the stamping is just so crisp and clean.
Oh my...so many wonderful stamping/crafting goodies, so excited for you! And what an amazing and beautiful card Nora, love those pretty colors.
A gorgeous card for a sad occasion! Glad you treated yourself! You deserve it! And you will put it to good use, I am sure of that! Happy new Year to you, Nora and I hope you'll find lots of crafting time!
Wow Nora, you bought some fun goodies!! Fabulous gift from your hubby too. I have several Tomboy markers and love them. Your card is beautiful. I love the colors!
Oh WOW!!! Pretty!
Lovely card, the colours you used are very pretty. Thanks for sharing your work at A Blog Named Hero.
Gorgeous use of the "new" product. Sorry that it had to be a condolence card. I always try to put extra love into those... Thanks for joining us at A Blog Named Hero!
This is such a fabulous card! Great design! Thank you so much for sharing with us a Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. :)
Yeah, I know what you mean. Whenever I try to find a gift for somebody else I usually end up finding more for myself (after all I know exactly what I want and have already...). Especially when I am shopping for earrings...
Purging is also hard for me. I always think I will use something eventually...
Beautiful card!
Beautiful card, love the design. The layering flowers are so beautiful. Thanks for playing along with ABNH!
