Twofer Card Challenge #8: Geometrics

Happy Thursday everyone!!

This is my second post for the day. My first post is here with a sneak peek of a card I made for the todays post on CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I created the two cards below yesterday and wanted to post them in time for the Twofer Card Challenge #8: Geometric.

My first card was inspired by a card from this post from Anna Kossakovskaya blog. I of course used different colors and added my own touches because I never can copy a design totally.

I changed the background on my card using a stenciled mono print technique so I could join the CAS Mix it Up Challenge and AAA Challenge too. However, my card is not that clean and simple but oh well. I added the stenciled layer to a brown, A2 card base.

I shaded the *Altenew "Shattered Triangle" die cuts with three colors of Distress Ink-*Antique Linen, *Walnut Stain and *Vintage Photo, and adhered the layers to over my patterned layer.

I added sequins and a sentiment from the *Altnew "Label Love" set to finish off my card. I also went over the colors of the triangle with a *sparkle pen but it is difficult to see in my photo.

For my second card, I die cut the triangles and made them into a Christmas tree.

I added some rhinestones in gold and red over the tree, as well as a star from my scrap pile. The sentiment is Mama Elephant's "Merry Greetings" stamp set.

I added the little mouse that I had colored ages ago and was in my stash because the card "needed" something else.

Well that is all from me today. I hope you have a FABULOUS night!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Edited to note that I won an honorable mention from the Twofer Card Challenge for these cards!! I am so excited!!!

These are so terrific, Nora! You have created two distinctly different designs and both of them are stunning! Your manly birthday card has so much definition and interest with your monoprint and your sepia coloring! Wow! And your Christmas card is simply adorable! Your triangle makes a beautifully tree and I love both the background and the bright frame, but it's that little mouse reaching for the pretty ornament that stole my heart!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #8! Hugs, Darnell

These are both so beautiful, Nora! The first card is stealing my heart because I have such a tough time with more masculine, neutral colors, and I just LOVE all the stunning layers you've incorporated. The background is divine! And your holiday card is seriously making me smile! That little geometric tree? Sooo cute!!!
