CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Fall Release Featuring the "WTF 2" Stamp Set

Happy Hump Day!!! I hope you are all having a FABULOUS week.

Today is the first day of the sneak peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps new fall release!! The design team and I are making projects with the new stamp set "WTF 2," which will be available for sale on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

When I received this set, I LOVED it for one reason and my card below explains it all:

I am the QUEEN of forgetting birthdays. It is horrible because a lot of the time I actually make the cards ahead of time and never send them out. How bad is that? I have decided I am just going to make belated birthday cards in the first place so I will be all set! This set is PERFECT for this!!

I started off this card by creating a balloon using Oxide Distress Ink and a reverse die cut circle. I used an ink distress tool to sponge the ink onto white card stock. I adhered the white panel onto an A2 sized, gray card base. Next I added a piece of black twine for the balloon string.

Using the new "WTF 2" stamp set,  I stamped the the "who totally forgot" onto a white paper strip using black ink and adhered it to the card front with foam adhesive.

I stamped the "WTF" with black ink onto white card stock and used Copic Markers in cool grays to color it in. I popped it up over the balloon and the white sentiment strip using foam adhesive.

The last step was to add color over the sentiment with a sparkle pen and some mustard Nuvo drops to give it emphasis.  Easy peasy and oh so fun!!

Want to see some more fun projects with this set? Hop on over to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog to see what the other design team members created. Don't forget to comment on the company blog by Saturday, October 21st to be entered into a drawing for a random chance to win a gift certificate at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps has some fun things going on this month. It is their 5th birthday celebration and a bunch of birthday stamps are on sale over at the store. Use my code nora2017 to get an extra 15% off your total order!!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge #256

Hey peeps. Just popping by for a quick post with two projects for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #256. I have been in the craft room trying to craft and it looks like a bomb has gone off!! (no photos-too embarrassing!!)

I created my first card using LDRS Creative's "Sweet Treats" set.

I kind of made a mess of the splattering and it went to the right of my card as well as the left. Then I put my finger in it before it was completely dry and had to use my sand eraser to fix it.

The pig was colored in with Copic markers. I used a white gel pen for the little dots on his cheeks and his eyes.

The circle he sits on was created with two types of Distress Ink and a stencil. The pig is actually on a mini action wobbler but I don't know how to put a video in a post yet.

Here is the fun sketch from the Paper Craft Crew that I used (PCC256):

For my second card, I chose to use a piece of patterned paper from Bella BLVD's "Make a Mark" 6" by 8" paper pad and die cut as my focal point.

The paper already had a fun sentiment and all I did was pop a die cut, some gold Washi tape and a few gold pearls and it was a card!!!

I was surprised at how easy it all came together!! What was even better, the die cut was a left over from one of my SJ card kits. In August we are choosing to use all the bits and pieces we didn't use in the first round.

Well that is all form me today. I am off to meet one of my friend's for breakfast. Next week is back to work so I am cramming in all my socialization this week!!

Have a fabulous day!!

Hello to Everyone and a Couple of Cards

It could echo here on my blog. May has been a very busy month and though I have been crafting a lot, my blog is the thing that has been suffering. Missed all of you!!

Though I have NOT been posting, I have been buying. Isn't that how it always is? I have had a couple of personal days over the last two weeks and I have had a chance to pamper myself. Friday I had a facial and colored my hair.

I was only just going to color my grays but my hair dresser had other plans. She tipped my hair in a blonder color, blew it dry straight and curled the ends. Made me feel like a million bucks!! If only I could do this myself but alas, I am hair challenged.

Today I am sharing two cards that I created using Mama Elephant's "Little Cat Agenda." I created these cards a couple weeks ago but never had a chance to photograph them.

My first card I combined Lawn Fawn's "Love Letters" envelope with a little cat from "Little Cat Agenda."

I colored my images in with Copic Markers, then combined them with a scrap of patterned paper and a Doodlebug Design "Paper Frills." (Anyone remember these? I have almost every color and decided to pull one out to use!!)

The little hearts were die cut using a CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Fun Fetti Fri-Dies" and covered in glossy accents. (I apologize for the dark photographs. It has been cloudy for days and I cannot get the lighting right!!)

My next card I combined the little cats with some Simon Says Stamps "Talk Bubbles" dies, PaperTrey Ink Sentiments and a Pretty Pink Posh "Stitched Film Strip" die to create my card.

I started off the card by die cutting and then doing a bit of ink blending on the Pretty Pink Posh "Stitched Film Strip" die cut. I layered this over a piece of Lawn Fawn "Dew Drop Line" patterned paper that was adhered to an A2, top folding card.

I nested the cats into the film strip and added some Stickles and Glossy Accents over some of the details on the stamped images.

I finished off the card by adding the Simon Says Stamps "Talk Bubbles" with the PaperTrey Ink sentiments.

I thank you for stopping by today. Have a fabulous night!!

ScrapJazz Card Kit Saturday!

It is a dreary Saturday in the east and I am doing a bit of organizing today. I am also getting some Happy Mail ready for some friends that I have been meaning to send for a while now. I am so great at MAKING cards but never send them. Am I the only one like that?

Today I am posting the cards I created using the Scrapjazz April Card Kit that my friend Rosey created for us.

I created six cards wit this kit and mainly used the kit. I did do a bit of coloring, though, which was fun. I had all these completed last weekend but as it goes, I did not photograph them.

I cannot pick a favorite from this bunch because each is unique unto its own. I also was pretty simple with the design so I could make as many cards as I did. I still have a ton left over to make more later on!!

In other news, Charlotte got about 7 inches cut from her hair last week. After the prom, she wanted a fresh cut that would be cooler in the summer.

I cannot tell you how long it has been since she had her hair cut this short!! Her hair is naturally curly so when it is not straightened like it is here, it is very short. Charlotte straightens here hair every day and wanted to make it easy on herself time wise. (oh and here hair is even-this photo is not straight!!)

That is all from me today. I thank you for stopping by!!

Freshly Made Sketches #278 and Seize the Birthday Challenge "Anything Goes"

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone has been enjoying their Sunday!! Bitter cold here after a little snowstorm we had on Friday. Spent the day snuggled up inside the house, not doing much of anything.

Today I am going to show you a card that I created for the Freshly Made Sketches #278 Sketch and Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes." Once again I have been playing with my camera, trying to get better shots of my projects but all my experiments were bad. I wound up going with the darn light box again, and I need better lights!!

I know that this card is not exactly like the card but my card was inspired by it. My shape, aka balloons, are a little higher then I would have liked but it didn't work any lower. This is an example of what is in my head does not necessarily translate into reality.

Here is the Freshly Made Sketch that I used for this card:

I started off my card by cutting a blue scrap of pattern paper and adhering it to the card. I then created a background using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Shenanigans" stamp set, stamping in light gray on a white background. I knew I would be putting another sentiment over it so I didn't want the paper to be too overwhelming.

I added the paper over the blue and then adhered the little streamers that I had stamped and cut using PaperTrey Ink's "Birthday Style" stamp set. This set is as old as the hills but it worked for what I wanted it to do.

I die cut and blended the balloons, adhering them over some die cut strings. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Frankly'isms" stamp and was stamped last.

I chose the colors to be more masculine in nature. I have a hard time making cards for men and wanted to do something a little more funny then cute.

On a more personal note, I had a really bad week. Payroll fell for a phishing scam and all my district's information is out there now. Some people filed tax returns, finding out that they already had been filed falsely. My husband did ours and ours were not. Probably because I would have owed if I filed myself!! Now I have an eagle eye watch on all things credit related and am just so frustrated. I really, really dislike people who steal on the web-and I really don't care the reason.

Also worried about budget cuts on our local, state and federal level. I find it so annoying that on a state level, that our government cannot make the cities be more fiscally responsible. We pay A LOT of property tax and it annoys me that I have to bail out cities like Hartford due to stupid financial decisions. I thought I was able to let go of some of the stuff I cannot control but budgets do effect whether I have a job or not so all this uncertainty gets to me after a while. I have been so grumpy and irritable the whole week and my stomach has started to hurt. Even working out has not helped me!!

Anyway, finally had a good cry yesterday and today I feel a bit better. I also did some color therapy, joining in the Thirty Day Coloring Challenge, which also helped.

Well that is all for me today. I will post the cards I create from the coloring sometime this week. Just have to get the mojo working!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and for reading this LONNNNGGGG post. I appreciate all your comments that you so generously make. Crafters ROCK!!

Scrapjazz Kit Club Cards

Happy Tuesday!! Today I am sharing some cards I created using a kit made by my friend Debbie. She sent us a lot of fun goodies!!

I created seven cards and have a TON more to probably make ten more cards. I tried to use mainly her kit but did get out some of my dies to do some fun die cutting with the papers too.

The first two cards are I created for Valentine's Day. The the top one I made for Char and the bottom one for Chris. Everything was in the kit but I used a die to cut out the patterned paper on Chris' card.

I colored in the flowers on this card and used some fiber for "fringe" underneath the sentiment strip. I added some rhinestones over the flowers, which were also in the kit.

I used a "Stitched Scallop" border from Lawn Fawn to die cut the Kraft card stock and an MFT "Die-namics Pierced Circle Stax" for the circles underneath the flowers. Debbie sent LOTS of pretty flowers and I had so much fun layering them on my cards!!

This card is one of my favorites. Red polka dots and butterflies!!

I had a fun time cutting and layering with scraps from the kit on this card!!

I die cut the embossed kraft paper from the kit into circles and layered them over pink. (which was also in the kit!!) I punched out butterflies and used Scrapbook Adhesive Foam to pop the butterflies up. Funny story about this card. I was editing my photos on this card and noticed that the butterfly on the bottom left only had one rhinestone when I had added two. Later that night when I was at dinner with a friend, I looked down and my jeans and there was the missing pink rhinestone!!

That is all from me today. I am going to enter this into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge  "Anything Goes."

Thank you for stopping by!!
