Playing Cards With a Friend!!!

Hello everyone!!

I am popping in some cards that I created on a virtual playdate with Michele from I Card Everyone. Michele and I picked a technique from a video by @lostinpaper, watercolor stamping, to try for making our cards. We also decided that we would use Altenew stamps because we both had a ton of them on hand.

For my first card, I used the stamp set Beautiful Day and Altenew watercolor pens (Fiesta) to create two cards. My first card I used first generation stamping and one of the layers of the large flower.

I chose to use purple and orange as my main colors for my card.

After stamping the colors, I stamped the black outlines. I then splashed some watered down acrylic paint and more watercolor onto the background. I actually used black acrylic paint on all my cards. Some I had a heavy hand in, some I  were more subtle.

On my second card, I used second generation stamping from the colors on my first card.

I actually like the lighter colors on this card than on my first card.

On my both my first and second cards, I finished off with sequins and gems.

For my second set of cards, I decided to try the same technique using the Build a Flower: Hyacinth and did the same technique using Distress Markers.

For my first card, I used two Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord markers for my flowers, and Mowed Lawn for the stems.

I used Shaded Lilac Distress Stain and black acrylic paint on the background and surrounded the flower with a black frame die cut.

Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops were used for the middle of the flowers.

For my second card, again, I used second generation stamping for my flower.

I chose to make this card a little cleaner. I popped up a black sentiment strip with some foam adhesive.

I added some sequins around the sentiment to give it some presence.

For my third set of cards, I used Leaf Canopy and Oxide ink for this technique.

I stamped the leaves with Iced Spruce Oxide ink and then heat embossed it in silver.

I used an MFT background stamp for the stripes. I added some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Spray over the front, as well as watered down black acrylic paint.

I added a die cut hugs and some silver glitter paper at the top.

For my second card, the leaves were stamped using the second generation of the first stamped card.

Again I used the MFT stripes background stamp in Iced Spruce and Speckled Egg Oxide Ink.

I added a blue butterfly that was in my stash to the front of this card.

I chose to add the silver glitter paper in the middle of the stripes at the top rather then where I placed it on the first card.

This was the last card I created using this technique. I loved trying this using all these different stamp mediums.

I am going to share my flower cards over at The Flower Challenge

I hope to play cards again with Michele another time this summer. It was so much fun stamping "virtually" with her and I would love to do it with someone else if anyone would like to do so. Be sure to pop in on her BLOG POST to see what she created!!

I thank you for taking the time for stopping by!!!
