Twofer Challenge Cards

Hello everyone!! Today is a snow day here and I thought I would post a couple cards.

Have you heard about the new Twofer Challenge Blog? My Bloggy friend Darnell started it and I decided to join the challenge this month.

The challenge this month was to use feathers as your inspiration.

This weekend I created some backgrounds using some of my Tonic products with a Hero Arts Peacock Stencil to make some backgrounds.

For my first card I also used CASE this Sketch #254 very LOOSELY for my inspiration.

I used Nuvo Pacific Teal Embellishment Mousse with the Hero Arts Stencil. I used a frame I die cut with an MFT die and then emphasized the feather with Stickles and a sequin.

I used WPlus9 Basic Greeting for the sentiment.

For my second card, I used Nuvo Blue Topaz Glimmer Paste with the stencil.

I know peacocks really don't "fly" but I used the PaperTrey Ink "Feather Finery" stamp set for the sentiment. I layered it over a piece of silver thread and some shiny card stock.

I topped it off with a silver bird die cut and some blue sequins.

I thank you for stopping by today. I hope you are all warm and cozy!!! Have a great night!!

Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

This has been day three of posting. I am attempting to post MORE this year, which means taking more time to create. This is a win-win for me!!

I created a card for Paper Smooches January "Anything Goes" challenge. Unfortunately everything on my card was not Paper Smooches but the main focal point-the pineapple-is a Paper Smooches die.

I started off this card by die cutting patterned paper scraps in tan and green using Paper Smooches "Pineapple 2" die. I then paper pieced them together. I added some google eyes and a scrap of red for the smile.

I layered an A2 sized card where I had used Ranger Distress Ink to blend in a background and over a kraft die cut that was literally lying on my desk. I die cut the hello sentiment out of yellow card stock and then added some sequins on the card. Easy Peasy!!

Again, I am linking this up to Paper Smooches January "Anything Goes" challenge.

That is all from me today!! I thank you for stopping by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

Sip Sip Hooray!!

Happy Monday everyone!!

I am popping in quick to show you another card that I created this weekend. I used another Inky Antic stamp set-"Wine Time #2"-for my card. Again, I had colored these images in a while ago and am just using them on a card. Does anyone else do this?

I used the "As You See it Challenge #167" as my inspiration for this card. Instead of using the word balloon on the rectangle, I used it above. I thought is was the perfect way to get my sentiment on the card.

I thought that all these whites matched until I started editing my photo. I have so many different white papers that sometimes I mess up!! I still like the card anyway.

I also created an inside to adhere to the card. I have been trying to do this more. I don't adhere it, though, until I use it.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

A Few Challenges with the Mess on my Desk

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoyed your weekend.

Today I am here with a couple cards I created using the mess on my desk and some scraps.

First I created a card for Freshly Made Sketches #319  using the "Lounging Wine Lady" from Inky Antics. I have to admit, I am kind of obsessed with wine stamps and had to add this one to my collection. The funny thing is that I really DO NOT love wine. I prefer margaritas IF I drink, which is not all that often.

I had previously colored in the wine lady with Copic markers while I was watching TV with my husband. I pulled her out and then layered her over a patterned paper scrap and a piece of MFT Sno Cone card stock that I had cut in half and folded to make a 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" card.

Here is the sketch I used as my inspiration:

When I looked at the sentiments on the stamp set, I decided to use this one because I could use a strip for the last line.

My next card I created a birthday card using the "Spring Chicken" stamp set by Art Impressions. Once again, I had colored in the chickens months ago and did nothing. When I saw the sketch for TGIF Challenge #142, I knew that I had to use this. I am also entering this into Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes.

I decided to flip the sketch so that the white panel would be on the bottom.

I adhered orange patterned paper over the background of the card and used a Lawn Fawn "Stitched Scalloped Border" die to cut the blue, scalloped border.

I then die cut my chicken panel with the Lawn Fawn "Stitched Journaling Card" die and adhered it over the scalloped border to the card front.

My last step was to add the stamped sentiment and then use a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen, as well as some Glossy Accents and glitter glue to spruce some of the little elements up.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Monday with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Monday!! It has been brutally cold here in the Northeast and we are coming off a four day weekend due to extreme snow. I am looking forward to spring!!

Today I am on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I created the card below using some of the new stamps that were released from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps last week.

I stamped a piece of patterned paper using the previously released "Peace, Love & Coffee" using red and brown dye ink.  I then die cut it and adhered it to the top of an 4" by 5 1/2," top folding card base.

I used "Coffee Cup Fri-dies" to die cut a red coffee cut out of red card stock and stamped a sentiment in brown using "Coffee Talk." I adhered it to the front of the card with the handle hanging off.

I adhered a sentiment that I had die cut 3 times and glued together for some dimension over the sentiment. I covered the beans and the die cut sentiment with a clear glitter pen.

The last step was to tie a piece of red twine at the top.

Since I had stamped a full piece of patterned paper, I created a similar version of the first card, switching up the sentiment and the twine.

That is all for today. If you want to shop at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, use my code NORASENTME to get 15% off your total order.

Sympathy Sunday and a Twofer with the Mess on my Desk

Hello everyone!! I hope you are all having a fabulous Sunday.

Since I had a four day weekend due to snow, (I work in a school) I worked on some cards.

During Christmas vacation, I had an opportunity to clean up my craft desk a little bit. One thing that I tend to do is color stamped images with Copic markers in front of the television and then never use them. I have decided in 2018 that I am going to try to create at least one card a week with these images.

Today I created TWO cards using Altenew "Beautiful Day" flowers.

For my first card, I stamped the background and added a lace die cut from Neat and Tangled that I had never used before.

I popped the flower over over the front using foam adhesive. I like how this came out but I do not like the color the Stickles I used on the flower center dried.

(Supplies-Stamps: Altenew "Beautiful Day," My Favorite Things "Clearly Sentimental" and "Bold Diagonal Stripes Background" Dies: Altenew "Beautiful Day Dies," Neat and Tangled "Doily Envelope," My Favorite Things "Blueprints 13" Paper: White Cardstock, Stampin Up! "Gable Green," Bazzill "Pollen," MFT Eggplant, Bazzill Vellum Ink: Memento dye ink "Tuxedo Black," Hero Arts "Soft Purple" OtherSizzix Big Shot Machine, Ranger Ink Multi-Matte, 3L Scrapbook 3D Adhesive Foam Squares, Scotch Dot Adhesive)

For my second card, I used Match this Sketch #209 sketch to create my card.

Instead of stamping my background, I used a piece of gray patterned paper.

The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink. I used My Favorite Things "Clearly Sentimental" and a flower from the "Beautiful Day" stamp set for inside of the card.

That is all from me today. I hope you all have a fabulous week!!

Day 6 Sneak Peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps-"Heart to Heart"

It is FINALLY Friday. It seems like the shorter weeks are always the longest at work!!!

Today I am here to show you my final sneak peek for the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January 2018 release. It is a background stamp named "Heart to Heart."

I used this background to create the card below.

I have to admit that once again this was not the card I intended to make. I was just finishing with the water coloring and my darn dog had me so wired that I made a HUGE mistake. Since it took me a while to paint, I decided to go with it and cut it down into a square.

I added a white matte around the panel and adhered it to a pink A2 card front. I stamped the sentiment using "Heartfelt Sayings"  in black on a red heart. I adhered the heart using foam adhesive. My last step was to adhere pink gems randomly around the stamped panel.

This stamp set, as well as all the other sneak peeks, is available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store under the "NEW" tab. Use my code-NORASENTME-to get an extra 15% off your entire order.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by all week. I hope you have a fabulous and relaxing weekend!!

Day 5 Sneak Peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January 2018 Release-"Peace and Comfort"

Hey everyone!! Just popping in to show you a sneak peek of the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Peace and Comfort" stamp set.

I think of all the sets release this week, this is my favorite. I cannot tell you how many sympathy cards I create every month, either for me to give or someone asking me to make them a card to give.

Here is the card I created using the "Peace and Comfort" stamp set.

I started off this card by stamping the flowers in purple and yellow, along with the leaves in a row across a piece of white cardstock. I was originally going to make this a one layer card BUT when I was stamping, I got purple ink on the white card stock so I had to rethink my design.

Next I stamped the sentiment over the top of the flowers in black. I cut down the strip and layered it over an A2 card that I had covered in green patterned paper. I finished off the card by adding a black and white strip of patterned paper above the stamping.

This stamp set, as well as all the other stamp sets shown this week are available at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store under the "NEW" section. Use my code-NORASENTME to get 15% off your total order.

I thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for one more sneak peek!!
