No Mojo and a CASEd Valentine

Happy Valentines Day!! I hope your day is filled with hearts and flowers. Mine, not so much BUT my husband and daughter are at a robotics tournament so I have the house to myself. That is a present in itself!!

We are expecting MORE snow today. I, for one, would be happy if I never saw another snow flake for a while. I like snow up to a point. However, we have ice dams and water leaked into our garden window in our kitchen this week. I am waiting for it to happen in more places. This has been a problem for a lot of people I know and it is so annoying.

In a bit of a funk this week. Not sure why because I received a couple of orders of stamping goodies. One from WPlus9, where I bought the new "Bubble Talk" and "Unforgettable" stamp sets with matching dies.

Aren't they adorable? Now that they are here, my mojo is gone and I haven't a clue what to do with them. I have a couple days off this week and hopefully I will find some inspiration.

I also received an order from My Favorite Things. Unfortunately for me, half of what I wanted to order over there is out of stock. Don't you hate when that happens? I did get the new "Diagonal Stitched Rectangle Dies" that I wanted, as well as some background stamps. I also ordered some inks and matching card stock. Unfortunately for me I am putting myself on a savings plan next month so no more orders in the near future. I need to use what I already own and be happy with that. It is so hard when all these companies release such fabulous products. It sometimes gets overwhelming.

I also won a random gift code over at Paper Smooches. I was so shocked and excited!! I am going to shop over there later today.

Now for my CASEd Valentine. For the life of me, I cannot find the Pin that I copied it from. My Pinterest card boards have gotten a little out of hand and I need to organize them a bit. Anyway, I just want to note that this is NOT my original design. If you know whose it  is, let me know so I can give credit.

The thing that I loved on the original card was the red envelopes falling from the top. I actually was excited because I had the Heidi Swapp stamp set that these belonged to. That never happens to me!

Here is how I created the card:

1. Fold a 11" by 4 1/4" piece of white card stock in half. Stamp envelopes in PTI Pure Poppy ink

2. Ink some kind of stamp that has a signature (I used an old wooden stamp I had by Stampington) in black, stamp off and then stamp onto the card front. Make sure you overlap some of the red envelopes to the left of the card front.

3. Using a post mark stamp, stamp in black on the right of card front.

4. Stamp a sentiment in the bottom right corner

5. Die cut a piece of red card stock and a piece of vellum in a rectangle. Round corners. On the red card stock, stamp sentiment. Adhere to card front as shown.

6. Die cut XOXO and red hearts from card stock. Adhere to vellum piece. Adhere vellum over the red.

This card was SO EASY and fun to make. I love how it came out. However, you can see the adhesive through the vellum. I hate that. I tried to hide it under the card stock letters but for the most part, it didn't work. The vellum would not stick. I need to figure out a better way to adhere vellum. Believe me, I have tried it all!!

I thank you for stopping by. I hope you all have a fabulous day!!

xoxo

What a pretty card this is. I also CASE when I have no mojo, and it usually picks right back up. Love those falling envelopes.

Your CASE is excellent, Nora! I can see why you wanted to use this design and replicate it! Attaching vellum is the bane of our existence! I think for that design I would have put a heart-shaped brad in the center of the Os, or just a red brad and then a spot of glue in the center of the Xs. I've seen some designs where a staple is used. I haven't tried that one yet.

I'm sorry you are running low on mojo juice, especially with all the fun NBUS arriving at your door! It certainly does get overwhelming. I just found a die (while looking through them for something else) that I ordered on Friday. Guess that'll be a gift for someone. That's what happens when I haven't yet labeled my NBUS and, even worse, have so much that I label it and promptly forget about it. I am doing lots better about not buying more, but it's so hard when, like you say, SO many companies have product we love and they constantly keep coming out with new schtuff. Back off!! lol! I'm at the point where I'm going to go back to pulling one thing out of my NBUS and then I go off and find a sketch and color challenge and let the ideas come from there. One stamp at a time. Tee Hee, it sounds like we need to be support pals for each other like they do for AA!!

Enjoy the week! Hugs, Darnell

What a sweet Valentine's card! Those little envelopes are too cute!
You are totally right when you say how hard it is to stop buying new things when they release so many beautiful products. I have way too much stuff already that I have never used and want to play with older things too, but then I get distracted with all the new releases! I think monthly releases are too much- who can keep up with that?

Hey Nora! I'm behind. As usual. Hate that!!! Anyway. Your card is lovely. Love all those little envelopes and the writing under your focal point. And I can't see the adhesive, btw. I bought some new vellum adhesive and it works ok, but as soon as I find a refill for my Tombow vellum adhesive, I'm stocking up! Next month I'm spending way too much on a new computer, so my stamp budget is on hold too. But your card is truly wonderful. Just love it. Bev

Ok. Why do you doooo these things to me??? Cruel unjust fate! Whyyyy! Alright, I'm being dramatic but I really love that little "Unforgettable" set and it says it's sold out. Boo.

I bet if you stare at that stamp set for a few seconds longer, your mojo juice will come back in full force!

As for your card, I LOVE that romantic postcard-esque feel! Great design and congrats on the win.

Beautiful card!! I need to put myself on a savings plan, too. It is so so hard because of the fab products they are releasing all the time! Sigh.

OH MY GOODNESS - seriously SO cute and clever!!! Love this card and everything about it - down to the very last and tiniest detail!!! YOu really wowed me with this one!!! Sorry to be so slow in my commenting and visiting you but between getting ready for 10 days with my grandbabies and actually being here with them I have been just a touch busy!!! But I hope you know how amazing I think you are even when I don't get the chance to come and tell you right away!!

Nora, I really love what you did here. This is so perfect for a man because it is lovey without being too dovey if you know what I mean! I hear you about vellum but I really wouldn't have noticed this if you hadn't mentioned it.
I got the Unforgettable stamps and have just finished up a card with it - they are so cute and I bet you are going to love them once you have inked them up.
