Sunday with CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #261 and As You See It Challenge #170

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are all having a great day.

I am a little grouchy today. Did a lot of errands and laundry this weekend, but not much fun stuff. I am in a funk. I think a couple days of sunshine would help as it has been gray, gray, gray!!

Today I am sharing two cards I created. The first one is for CAS(E) this Sketch #261, though it is a retro sketch. I created this card using Stamping Bella's "I Have a Secret" stamp and the "Stacked Heart" die from Simon Says Stamp.

I kept this really simple, using white card stock and a scrap of patterned paper from my stash.

Here is the sketch that inspired this card:

I loosely colored in the image using Copic Markers. I LOVE this image and want to make a bunch up to send to some close friends.

I left off the sentiment because I didn't want to use the one that came with the stamp set. The little dots from the sketch were replaced with the hearts die.

I filled in some of the hearts and used clear Sparkle marker over them.

For my second card, I used the sketch from As You See It Challenge #170. Again, I kept it very simple.

The image is from Inky Antics "Wine Time #1" stamp set and the sentiment is from their "Wine Time #2" set.

Here is the sketch that inspired me:

Again, I colored this image in with Copic markers and used a stencil with some Broken China Distress ink for the polka dots.

Instead of the hearts, I chose to add a word bubble with the sentiment.

If only this lady was sipping a beer and I would use it for my friend's birthday instead of having to make her a card now!!

That is all from me tonight. I hope you have a fabulous Monday!!

Sorry the gray skies have got you down. Hopefully the sun will come out soon! Your cards are adorable. I like the hearts in the background on the first and the sentiment on the second is too much fun!

I love those sweet girls - the random hearts in the background are the perfect accent! I'm also all for the birthday sentiment! Love the hint of polka dots and the pop of color in the banners.

This is a really cute, 'punny' birthday card, Nora, and you've done a fabulous job with your copics! I love the way the background dots fade out and are repeated in the designs on the little flags and even on the graph in the square. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It Challenge.

I love those whispering girls! They remind me of best friends of any age! And you've colored them beautifully, too! They are sweet, as is the whole card! Great colors, and a great take on the sketch. Your second card is a hoot! That image is such a party on a card! How fun is this?!! Another smashing take on a sketch. Very cool. Bev

I really like this Norah! Great sentiment and image - they gave me a smile. Love your colouring and the way the dotty lines fade out. Using a word bubble was another great idea. Thanks so much for joining us at As You See It this week.

So sorry you were in a funk, Nora. Hope you're better today, or at least you're getting a bit of sunshine. Your cards are both fun and happy! Beautiful coloring and wonderful background details!
