Vacation and some Lawn Fawn "Little Bundle" Cards

Happy Friday everyone!! It is my last day of vacation before the weekend. Charlotte and I spent it home as Chris was away on business.

I was a bit sad that we were not able to go away somewhere this year but it was a beautiful week weather wise and Char and I got to hang out together. I even spent one day in my pjs just watching television. Why? Because I COULD!! Here are a few random photos from the week.

We went shopping and Target was one of our stops. I made Charlotte pose with the Target dog!!

The weather has been nice and my tulips have opened up. I LOVE spring!!

Charlotte had a costume fitting on Wednesday. The studio owner let the parents take photos of the girls all dressed up. She would kill me if she knew I revealed the costumes before the recital!!

One of our impulse buys at Target was this bow tie for Zack. Doesn't he look adorable?

I never take selfies but had to send a photo to my husband of my hair. I lightened it yesterday. One thing about dying your grays-you can go any color you want!! (Within reason!!)

I have been kind of quiet here on my blog as of late not because I have not been busy in my craft room but because I have been creating up a storm for a bunch of DT assignments. Next week there will be plenty of posts!!

However, I did want to post my cards that I created with Lawn Fawn's "Little Bundle" stamp and die set. I kind of became obsessed with using it.

My first card I used the stamps and dies to make a simple boy card.

One thing about this set is that I was able to use a TON of scraps.

I think my favorite thing about this card is the overalls!! I used Nuvo Gloss White Crystal Drops for the buttons and now I am obsessed with the stuff!!

For my second boy card, I used the new My Favorite Things "Blueprints 27" and the Lawn Fawn set to create the card.

Again, I utilized pattern paper scraps with the stamps for the clothes and the blanket.

I then made some baby girl cards. I have to give both sexes equal opportunity!!

LOVE the patterned paper I used for the background!! I am so bummed that Basic Grey is closing its doors!!

I did a little fussy cutting for the bow on the jumper.

For baby girl card #2, I stamped a background in pink with the images from "Little Bundle."

The tag was created using CHRISTMAS paper!! I have been trying to utilize my holiday paper for more then just what it was made for.

I am adding a third baby girl card that was the first card I created using the "Little Bundle" set but never posted.

I adore the gray paper I used for the background but alas, have no idea what company it is from. If I did, I would buy more. It is perfection!!

Again I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in "Red Berry" to create the buttons, as well as the trim on the sleeper.

Well, that is all for me today. Thank you for stopping by!! I hope you have a FABULOUS weekend!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #165

Happy Easter!! I hope you all had a FABULOUS day. I spent time with some of my extended family, whom I have not seen in a few months.

Yesterday was Chris' birthday. We left him alone to do whatever he wanted to do for the day. He spent it playing video games and relaxing. Love this man!!

We did go out to a local barbecue place that he wanted to go to for dinner. It is cafeteria style and oh so delicious.

This was my meal. I took half home, which will be my lunch at work tomorrow.

Today I am sharing a card I created for CAS(E) this Sketch #165.

I chose to flip the sketch a bit for my design and I am hoping they accent it!!

Here is what the original was:

I probably should have put the circle with the baby sleeper on the right side now that I think of it. I was looking at it the wrong way and just moving the whole border down rather then just flipping it 180 degrees.

Anyway, I needed a baby card to go with a gift I bought for a co-worker so making this is not wasted.

The card base is PaperTrey Ink's Aqua Mist and I layered a piece of Amy Tangerine patterned paper from the "Rise and Shine" collection. I used a My Favorite Things "Pierced Rectangle" to die cut it. I then layered a die cut scrap that I had stamped with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's "Little Bundle" set.

Using foam adhesive, I layered a white card stock circle over the border strip. I then adhered the little sleeper that I had stamped and die cut from patterned paper, (also from "Little Bundle") as well as used some Studio Nuvo Crystal Drops to make the little white buttons.

My last step was to adhere some sequins around the circle.

I had a TON of fun creating this card and die cut and stamped a TON from this new Lawn Fawn set. I plan to make a bunch of baby cards to have on hand from this set.

Thank you for stopping by!! Have a great week!!

Two cards using Retro Sketch #198

It is Thursday and almost the weekend. I am jumping up for joy!!! It has been a LONG week, even with the holiday on Monday.

We have had mid-term exams at the High School which means different schedules at work and lots of tears at home. On top of that, Charlotte has been sick so taking a mid term didn't make it any better. However, all of that is done until June and another semester starts tomorrow. Yeah!!

Today I am sharing two cards I created this weekend using Retro Sketch #198. I pretty much stuck to the design of the sketch for both of them.

For my first card, I did an ink blending technique. I masked off part of the bottom and blended Wild Honey and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I then splashed a bit of water on it.

I then stamped "Happy Birthday" sentiment from PaperTrey Ink. I die cut a slide frame, also from PaperTrey Ink, out of green card stock and adhered it to the card. I layered two Lawn Fawn sunflowers and two leaves that I had colored in with Copic markers over the slide. I used foam adhesive under the sunflowers for a little dimension.

I covered the sunflowers with clear Wink of Stella to add a bit of sparkle. Last but not least, I attached a few green sequins around the focal point cluster. This card will be added to a card set I have been slowly making for a dear friend of mine.

For my second card, I decide to use some patterned paper on my card for a different look.

I covered the card front in green patterned paper from the Harvest Collection by Pebbles. I then used a scrap of yellow on the bottom that I embossed a stitch border. Again, I used a green slide frame die cut by PaperTrey Ink and layered a Lawn Fawn sunflower over it with foam adhesive.

Again I covered the sunflower with clear Wink of Stella and added some sequins around the framed flower.

Here is the Retro Sketch that I used to make these cards.

I think I like the first card best but am happy that I made two cards in general. I have had such a hard time creating lately!!

I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a great night!!

CAS(E) This Sketch #128

I cannot believe it is Friday already. The first week of November has flown by so fast.

This is my last week off before I start work. I go back next Wednesday. It has been okay being home but I am glad to go back. I am feeling so much better and think I can work a whole day again. I will miss having time to myself but right now I am craving adult company and I really miss the kids that I work with.

I want to give a shout out to my incredible daughter during this recovery. Charlotte has been AWESOME. Every day she asks if I need something or what she can do to help. It has been her and I a lot of the time as Chris has had to travel, so she has had to shoulder a lot.

I could not ask for a better helper. Isn't she cute in her Halloween costume? It was Spirit week last week and on the last day they were able to wear them to school. Thank goodness it was not too warm because this is like wearing a cozy set of winter pajamas.

Today I am sharing a card that I created using CAS(E) this Sketch #128.

I have slowly been making cards for my friend's birthday so I have been using a lot of sunflower images. (She ADORES them!!) I used sunflowers from Lawn Fawn's "Happy Harvest" set and "Our Friendship Grows" stamp sets. All of them were colored with Copic Markers.

Card Directions:
  1. I started the card by cutting a piece of patterned paper from American Crafts "Heartland Farm" 6" by 6" paper pad into 5 1/2" by 4 1/4." I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink and then adhered it to a white card base.
  2. I then adhered a doily from Doodlebug design onto the middle of the card.
  3. I embossed a piece of Kraft card stock with a honey comb embossing folder and then die cut it into a tag shape using Papertrey Ink's "Tag Sale #6" die.
  4. I then used some yellow twine from Lawn Fawn to wrap around the top of the tag and tied a small bow.
  5. Next I adhered the tag to the card front using foam adhesive
  6. I layered my leaves and sunflowers that I had colored and cut ahead of time over the front of the tag.
  7. Using foam adhesive, I adhered the sentiment that I stamped using Simon Says Stamps "Talk Bubble" set.
  8. The last step was to adhere sequins around the sunflowers using Ranger Multi Matte adhesive.

Here is the Sketch that was my inspiration:

Isn't this a great sketch? I could see using this for so many more cards!!

To end this post, I thought I would post a photo of Zack in his Halloween costume. I know I should have posted this last weekend but as I have been terrible at blogging as of late, I missed the boat.

Doesn't he look so mad? Char made him wear it the whole day and he kept rubbing against the furniture trying to get it off.

Have a fabulous night!! Thank you for stopping by.
