Sunday, Sunday and ANOTHER card using Simon Says Stamp "Time for Wine"

Happy Sunday!!

We finally had some snow that stuck yesterday. I stayed in my pajamas and did a bit of crafting, though I was supposed to go to the gym but I put it off. My daughter and my husband were at robotics and I decided that I would enjoy my time alone-something I rarely get these days!!

My method of stamping is different these days. I take a LONG time making cards so often I stamp a TON of images on a piece of paper and then color them in while I am watching television with the family. This way, I still spend time with them but then I also can do what I like to do. It is a win/win situation!! That being said, I often color more pieces then I use and then they just sit. I decided that 2017 is the year I will be using what I spent all the time on coloring!!

Today I am showcasing a card where I used Simon Says Stamps "Time for Wine"stamps and dies. I still have some pieces left over for one more card after this with purple and then I colored in a bunch more using my Copic's last night in a different color scheme. I cannot tell you how I ADORE this set of stamps. All my friends LOVE wine and I am trying to make more "adult" cards rather then cutesy. (Thought I love all my cutesy stamps too!!!)

I used the Global Design Challenge #068 as my inspiration for this card.

You are probably thinking where, right? Well, I used the same basic layout as the inspiration card, as well as polka dot paper and instead of ribbon, I used wrapped twine in the place where the ribbon would go as it matched the images better then ribbon would.

The images were colored in with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I added some Spectrum Clear Sparkle over the top and also coated some of the images with Glossy Accents too.

The polka dot paper is Reminisce "Basic Dot" and has been in my stash for YEARS. I told you I was a hoarder!!! No what I didn't add this time? Sequins!! I decided to leave them off this card for a change.

That is all from me today!! Have a fabulous day!!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Inspiration

Hello everyone!! It is Saturday here and I am so happy that the weekend is here. Even though I had a week off last week, it seems like I never had a vacation.

Today it is my turn on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog for some inspiration. I created a gate fold card-the first one I have ever made!

I started off by taking an 8 1/2" by 4 1/4" sheet of yellow card stock and scoring it on each end at 2 1/8." I then stamped the border from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Starlequin" in red dye ink.

Next I adhered two pre-made Kraft colored doilies on each side. I folded them directly down the middle and adhere them inside and outside the card.

I had watercolored two flowers in red from the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Mon Ami" set and used the matching dies to cut them out. I then adhered them to the front using foam adhesive. The large tulip tucks underneath the smaller tulip to keep the card closed. I adhered the sentiment banner, again stamped with a sentiment from "Mon Ami," onto the left side of the card. Since sequins are bit of an obsession with me these days, I had to adhere a few of those on the front too!!

Inside the card, I adhered a third Kraft doily that I had stamped a sentiment and butterfly from the CAS-ual Fridays "Be" stamp set.

This was so much to make that I think I will be experimenting with using some more of my CAS-ual Fridays Stamp sets to make some more gate fold cards.

Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #20

It is the 15th of the month and it is time for another Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.

I had fun creating my card with some products I have never used before.

I decided to use the bottom row across-use punssweets and smooshing technique.

I have had these stamps and dies from My Favorite Things for months and just broke them out to make this card. Soda is considered sweet, right?

I started out by creating the paper I used for the die cut bottles with the smooshing technique. I used "Squeezed Lemonade," "Scattered Straw," "Dried Marigold," and "Mustard Seed" Distress ink with some water and a bit of Speedball gold. I let it dry and die cut six bottles using MFT's "Soda Pop" dies, using two for this card.

I then stamped and die cut the star and the orange from the matching "Soda Pop" stamp set. I added them over some wraps I made from card stock.

I added the bottles over a background that I blended "Tumbled Glass" and "Peacock Feathers" Distress ink over and die cut "Blueprints #27." The pun sentiment was stamped using a stamp also from the "Soda Pop" stamp.

To finish the card off, I adhered some orange and clear sequins onto the card, adding a bit of Stickles over the top.

I LOVE how this came out and I am gong to make a few more with some different colors but that will be for another day!

Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #17

Happy September 1st!!! As this is a scheduled post, I am back to work and I wish it was still summer!!! I am such a homebody and just love to be home cleaning, doing laundry, being in my craft room-does not matter what endeavor I choose, I just like to nest.

Today I am sharing my card that I created for Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #17.

I chose to use the top row across-window card, critter and sequins. This was a really hard choice, though, because I could have done all of them!!

Here is my card:

The jumping off point for this card was the "critter." I had all the elements stamped, die cut and colored from My Favorite Things "Hog Heaven" set on my desk just waiting for me to use.

I die cut a square using My Favorite Things "Inside Out Stitched Rounded Square Stax" out of the front of a white, top folding, A2 sized card, as well as a piece of white card stock for the inside of my card that measured 5 1/2 by 4 1/4". Then I started to put my card together.

First, I shaded some "Twisted Citron" Distress Ink around the bottom of the square cut outs for both the inside and outside of the card.

I thought it looked a little flat so blended some "Mowed Lawn" Distress Ink over the top, making the darkest part of this darker green around the frame.

For the "sky," I used "Tumbled Glass" Distress Ink to shade some blue over the top part of the frame. I did the same for the inside piece as well.

I then cut a piece of acetate for a "window" and adhered it to the back of the front panel. I then adhered the shaded, white panel over the top.

Next, I used a sentiment from the "Hog Heaven" stamp set and some PTI "Smokey Shadow" ink and stamped it on the front of the card.

I then adhered all my colored images that I had on my desk into a little scene. I used foam adhesive for the pig head and the flowers to give them a bit of dimension.

Isn't he cute? I almost made him a girl but decided that this particular pig looked like a boy.

This is what the inside looks like. The fence is a mirror image and the stamp set has the back of the pig so I thought this was too cute not to use.

My last step was to adhere some "sequins" onto the front of the card, as well as use some "Diamond" Stickles.

It all came together rather quickly, which is rare for me!! Please hop on over to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Blog to join us. I cannot wait to see what YOU create!

Toodles!

Sunday Stamps #134, Simon Says Stamps Work it Wednesday August 2016 and NBUS Challenge #7

Happy Hump Day!! Just a quick post for a few challenges.

I am officially back to work as of yesterday. Today was the first official day of school for the high school where I work and it went pretty well. If my schedule remains the same, this year will be good.

Today I sharing a card that I created using Hero Arts "Marianne's Flowers" set that I had gotten this past spring but did not ink it up at all. It has the prettiest flowers on it!! I used the Sunday Stamps Sketch #134 as my inspiration.

Here is the sketch:

I began by stamping the lilies on a piece of A2 sized Copic Marker paper with Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink. I then colored the flowers in with Copic markers.

I mounted the panel on an A2 sized, white, top folding card. I then added a piece of green/white twine across the top.

Using the My Favorite Things "Stitched Banner Alphabet," I die cut the sentiment out of green and yellow card stock. I took the green letters out of the green banners and adhered them into the yellow banner pieces.

I then used foam adhesive to pop the alphabet over the twine on the card.

I completed the card by creating two bows out of the twine and using Ranger Multi-Matte Adhesive to adhere them to the card.

I have to admit that this card is extremely simple but I LOVE how it came out. The coloring of the lilies was an experiment. I had looked up a photo and tried to get the colors from there. The greens are really dark but I like it.

I am entering this into Darnell's "NBUS" challenge and Simon Says Stamps August 2016 "Work it Wednesday" theme-stamping.

I thank you for stopping by!!

Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #14

It is the middle of the month and that means it is time for a new Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! Are you ready?

I think that this is the most fun board EVER! I had a hard time choosing a row because I wanted to to do all of them!

I finally settled on the middle row down-Doodling, Chalkboard and Laurels.

I have NEVER done a chalkboard card so I thought it was time I tried. I have admired many designers cards in this style for some reason, felt I would never be able to pull it off. Now that I have done it once, I know I will be able to replicate this fun technique.

I started by die cutting a piece of black paper with the My Favorite Things Blueprints Die #13. Then I drew some laurels in with a white colored pencil. To get the shape I wanted, I traced a circle on each side and drew the leaves freehand from there.

I mounted the black card stock to a white, A2 top folding card. I then took Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink and randomly smeared it on the edge using a Fantastix blending tool.

Next I stamped the "hugs" sentiment from WPlus9's "That is All" stamp set onto black card stock with Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink and then heat embossed it with Ranger Ink's White embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment using the matching die.

I took WPlus9's "Bountiful Blooms" dies and die cut some shapes out of black card stock. I wanted the flowers to look "chalky" so I colored them in with Prismacolor pencils.

I then took the die cuts and layered them over the hand drawn laurels. I used foam adhesive to pop up the sentiment and the blue flower. I added a bit of yellow gel pen for the stamens in the pink flowers and a yellow rhinestone for the middle of the blue flower.

To finish the card off, I added some dots of Nuvo Crystal Gloss Drops in "Sweet Lilac" to the card front.

Now I challenge you to hop on over to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge and join us for Challenge #14. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Stamping Smiles Design Challenge #12

Hello everyone!! I hope you are having a fabulous Thursday.

June is flying by too fast. So far my vacation has been filled with doctor's appointments and getting things cleaned that I haven't been able to get clean while I am working. (Like washing curtains or cleaning out whole closets. Who likes to do that?)

There is a new challenge over at Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Blog. Challenge #12 is up. Can you believe we are already at 12?

For my card, I used the last row down-Bird/Bees/Butterflies, Tag and Metals.

Here is the card I came up with:

I chose to use a Lemon Chiffon card base and rounded the bottom edge. I stamped the sentiment from Paper Trey Ink's "Bitty Butterflies" stamp set in Aqua Mist dye ink. I then layered a yellow polka dot paper that I stenciled and die cut over the background.

I used a pre-made tag from We R Memory Keepers "Crush" collection and added a metal brad in the middle of the gold flower. I then adhered a vellum butterfly that I die cut using a My Favorite Things die "Flutter of Butterflies Lace " die over the tag.

To finish the card off, I added the gold gems in the middle of the butterfly.

This card came together so easily by just using one pre-made elements. I have so many lying around due to my scrapbooking that I have never used. Incorporating them onto cards is my new favorite thing!!

Please stop on over to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Blog and play with us using Challenge #12. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

Have a FABULOUS day!!
