CAS(E) this Sketch #108 with Lawn Fawn

Hello! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. It is a bit cold in Connecticut today but that is New England weather. I will take this over snow any day!

Charlotte and Chris are at robotics today so I spent the day doing whatever I felt like. Mostly that was laundry and going to the gym but I did get to have a really nice late lunch with a friend. I had one of the most DELICIOUS margarita's I have ever had today. It was made from grapefruit juice rather then sour mix and just so refreshing! I don't seem to get enough socializing in these days and I miss that. I think I need to schedule that in more often.

One thing I did have time to do this morning is make a card for the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge. I read this morning that an online friend was feeling under the weather so I whipped up this card for her.

To be honest, I actually created TWO cards because I am trying to make my life a little easier so I have cards created for my stash instead of whipping them up on demand. Here is sketch #108 that I used as my jumping off point:

To start my card, I stamped the little bird from Lawn Fawn's "Get Well Soon" stamp set and colored it in using Copic markers. I then die cut the bird using the matching die set.

Next, I stamped the sentiment and the hearts on the white rectangle. I wrapped a piece of red DMC floss around the top, mounted it with foam adhesive onto a red scallop die cut and set it aside.

For the background, I used Washi tape to create the stripes on a white piece of card stock measuring
5  1/2" by 4 1/4." I wanted the stripes to be as straight as can be so I started from top and used a red scrap piece of tape as a marker. On both the cards I made I had white space left at the bottom, which was not what I wanted. However, I left it and if I created this design again, would fix it so that this would not happen.

When I was finished with the tape, I folded the ends over to the back and mounted the rectangle onto a 5 1/2" by 4 1/4" top folding card.

I mounted the small rectangle piece I had created previously onto the front of the card. I then mounted the little bird onto the front with foam adhesive.

My last step was to take a Wink of Stella pen and use it over the black hearts. It is hard to tell in the photo but they do have a bit of shine to them.

My second card I created the same way but changed up the color scheme a bit.

I like how both of them came out and it was not hours to make, as per my usual cards.

I am also entering this into Simon Says "Anything Goes" Wednesday Challenge."

I thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great night!!

Lawn Fawn Get Well Card #2

I wanted to post my second Lawn Fawn card last night that I created using the "Get Well Soon" stamp set but an unexpected night with no Charlotte was thrust upon my husband and I. What were we to do? We went out to dinner and then came home to watch a movie together. A perfect way to spend a Friday night in my book. After a hectic week of being sick, just relaxing was the way to go.

I spent most of today cleaning my bedroom and then organizing my desk in my craft room. What-a-mess!!! I still have a ways to go but needed a break. So here I am.

This get well card is my favorite out of the three I created using the Lawn Fawn set.  It was just downright fun to make. From the get go I decided not to use a sentiment on the front.

To start with, I utilized the paper scraps from my first card to edge both sides of the card. I have SO MANY scraps that they are no longer fitting in their designated spot. I figured using them up immediately would be key!!

I then stamped the band aids onto a white scrap of card stock and used Copic markers to color them in. Little hearts were added for a fun around the plasters. Next, I adhered the white panel to the middle of the card front.

Instead of a sentiment, I created a tiny shaker box using the Lawn Fawn "A Birdie Told Me" die set. I die cut a word bubble out of black card stock and white fun foam. I then die cut a heart out of each so that I had an area to place the glitter. I think it was the perfect element for above the little sparrow's head.

I used foam adhesive to adhere the sparrow and the band aid to the lower right of the card. The tiny heart stamps were added after.

The last step was to cover the black card stock with glossy accents. It was not planned but I noticed that when I had adhered the word bubble to the card, I got some adhesive on the front of it. I chose to just cover it with the glossy accents instead of making a new bubble. There is a sentiment inside but I was too lazy to photograph it.

I am going to submit this card to the "Good Medicine Recipe Swap" at the Catered Crop.

Thank you for joining me today. Have a great night!!
