Another Simon Says "Super Hero" entry with Mama Elephant

Happy Thursday!! Right now I am supposed to be sitting down with some new stuff I got in the mail yesterday and today but instead I have been online commenting and now I am blogging. Chris is getting home tomorrow and I did not get any of the creative stuff done that I wanted to this week.

I also have to be very quiet as Charlotte is studying downstairs tonight. I like her to be in a public space in our house so I know she is doing what she is supposed to. Final exams can be grade killers!!

I have also been browsing blogs and seeing MORE new things that I want. I am loving the new color stamp pads from Simon Says Stamp.
Aren't they so happy and fun? I need more ink like I need a hole in the head so these are not something that I am going to be able to purchase right away. I already have trouble storing what I do have.

I also NEED that new "Many Thanks" set of stamps that they did with WPlus9.
I love the watercolor look and could see me making many beautiful cards. I think I need to purge a little before I can justify buying this set, though.

Then there is the new sneak peek from Mama Elephant. They posted previews of some of their new sets yesterday. I am in big trouble!!

Then last but not least, the new release from Paper Trey Ink that is being revealed. Wow!! I need to win the lotto!

My card supplies that I have not cracked open are starting to take over my room and I need to begin to have a little self control. I sometimes wish that there would be more time in between the releases too. By the time I get a stamp set that I want, there are 15 other new ones that come out from that company that are on a wish list. My goal this summer is to have fun with what I have. Am I the only one that is swimming with unused stuff?

Now for why I REALLY wrote this post tonight-my last Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" card that I wanted to share. This one is more for a little boy and I used primary colors for the card.

(I apologize for the blue sticking up at the top. I did not notice it until I took the photo and cut it off.)

I am not going to do a step by step of what I did for this because I think you get the idea by just looking at it. The blue paper is a bit of a stretch for me, though. It was a sparkle paper that I had in my stash. One of those things I bought YEARS ago and could not part with. I knew I would find somewhere to use it and this was perfect under that white die cut. This is why I have trouble purging. You never know when you will need it!

Once again, I am entering this into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge-"Friends or Superhero."

I think this suits the bill perfectly!! They are also showcasing Mama Elephant, which is one of my FAVORITE stamp companies. (I have a lot of favorites, though!!)

I want to thank you for stopping by tonight. I hope you have a fabulous Friday!1

I've been Spotted, another Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" card, a busy Wednesday and a Simon Says Friends or Superhero Challenge

Hello my friends!! I am sitting her trying to wind down from my very busy day. I feel like all I have done since I left work today is drive.

Char had two different tutors today. She is presently being tutored in math and English for her exams. While she was at one of her tutor's, I ran to the gym to do a quick workout. I am trying to get that in as much as possible this week since I have eaten Whoopee pies for breakfast for the past two days. Sigh. There is only one left and I already know it is for my breakfast tomorrow and then they will be gone until I make them in the fall for work. (Work loves my Whoopee Pies so I bring them in once in a while for my department.)

To top my night off, I had to take our dog to the vet. He has an ear infection!! I think it was from when I gave him a bath a couple weeks ago. Now he has to have ear treatments twice a day and he was not so thrilled with the first. I also gave him another bath when we got home because he was lying on the vet's floor. That grosses me out.

Today I am sharing two things. One is the link to a scrapbook layout that I did last month. I used some Jillibean Soup paper and Jen Harkin asked if she could put it on the Bean Talk blog for her "Soup Spotting" post today. I was really flattered and of course I said sure!!! It is one of my favorite pages to date.

I also wanted to share the second of my Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" cards that I created. I had a lot of fun creating a little "scene" in back of this one.

I used my new My Favorite Things die to cut out the polka dot patterned paper and mounted it onto a top folding card. I then die cut a rounded rectangle and masked off a strip with post it tape and blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink in the center.

Next I masked the yellow off and inked the sky in with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment and then mounted the square onto the card front using foam adhesive.

I used a cloud die from Paper Trey Ink to die cut some clouds and then sponged the edges with some Tumbled Glass. I mounted them onto the rectangle so that the outer edges of each were hanging off the sides. I then used foam adhesive to mount my "Tiny Heroes" image. The last step was to randomly adhere sequins.

I LOVE how this came out, with the exception of the smudged sentiment. I used Wink of Stella on this part (not that you can tell from the photo!) and it smudged. I had already put it together when I noticed and I know I will ruin it if I take it apart.

I am entering this into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Friends or Superhero." I think it is perfect for this!!

I thank you for stopping by. Farewell until next time....

Mama Elephant "Tiny Heroes" Shaker Card and 30 Day Color Challenge Day #9

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Today was the last day of classes for the High School students and tomorrow starts exams. I am so happy that you would think that I was the student. My daughter certainly isn't since she is one of those students. Charlotte is studying away for her Chemistry final. A week from today starts our summer vacation and I cannot wait!

Today I thought I would share with you a card that I had SO MUCH FUN making. I have been coloring away with The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

This challenge has made me dig out some of my under loved and not used stamp sets (hanging my head in shame about this) to have fun coloring with. Today I am showcasing Mama Elephant's "Tiny Heroes" set. Can I tell you that I LOVE this set? I actually made THREE cards but will be sharing them later on in the week.

I started off this card by coloring and die cutting the stamped images. I then die cut a white panel using an MFT die and misted it with soft teal Prima Color Bloom and bubblegum Tattered Angels. After the front was dry, I die cut a hole in the center. I then die cut pink circles to insert in the middle.

I am not going to go through how to make a shaker card because there are plenty of tutorials out there and I am not an expert in the least. (In fact, I stay away from them because I am usually terrible at them!!) Anyway, I filled the shaker with turquoise, pink and star sequins to match the little heroes. Didn't this come out so cute?

This was just one of those days that I was on a roll with mojo!!!

I thank you for taking the time to stop by tonight. I know summers are so busy for people!!

Day 8 of the 30 day Coloring Challenge and A Birthday Card

Happy Monday everyone!! One more week before I am on summer vacation-whoo hoo!!!

My darling husband is in Phoenix on business this week so I have time to play in my craft room this week. Whether or not I have mojo, that is another story. The good thing about him being away is that Charlotte and I are on our own for dinners. It makes it so much easier! (I really don't know why I am even complaining-Chris cooks dinner most of the time anyway. Char and I like a lot of the same things, though and will eat more vegetarian then Chris will.)

Today I am sharing a card I created using Paper Trey Ink's "Enjoy the Ride" stamp set and die. My nephew turned sixteen a couple weeks ago but we did not celebrate it until last night. I am never on time with my cards anyway so he got my card late. I am entering this into day 8 of The Daily Marker's 30 day coloring challenge. I have been coloring a little every day, even if it is inking!!! (that counts, right?)

The first thing I did for this card was die cut and stamp the car out of green card stock. I then stamped the car again in white and cut out the bumpers. Next I colored the bumpers and some of the car details in with a silver Prismacolor pencil. It does not show up here that well and I apologize.

I set this aside and created the background. I used Memento Tuxedo Black for the bottom and a mix of Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks for the sky. I then stamped the sentiment on top and added in white "stars" with a white gel pen.

I die cut a white circle and mounted it in the middle of the card. I then used foam adhesive to adhere the card. My last step was to add the number stickers and some yellow Stickles for the headlights.

This was an extremely simple card but fun to make!!!

Again, I am adding this to the 30 day Coloring Challenge.

I thank you for stopping by!! Have a great night!!
