Sympathy Cards and Some Challenges

Happy Sunday everyone!! It has been so beautiful out today and I am LOVING the fall colors. This past week has just really brought out the oranges and yellows in the leaves.

Today I am sharing a few cards I created for some different challenges. First up are two sympathy cards I created.

The first one I kind of CASEd a card from Mary Beth that she created for PaperTrey Ink's "Make it Monday."  Mine is not as pretty as her card and I did not have the wreath she used but figured I would do the best I could

I used PaperTrey Ink's "Botanical Silhouettes" stamp set for this card and a wreath from Winnie and Walter.

For my second card, I created a sympathy card that was inspired by my card above but I used the colors from Color Throwdown #465 as the inspiration colors.

Again, I used the retired "Botanical Silhouettes" stamp set and added some butterflies from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Be" stamp set.

I used Distress ink in "Wild Violet" and "Dusty Concord" to do the ink blending on the card.

The sentiment is from "What Not Sentiments" by Your Next Stamp. I have to admit that this is my favorite card of the day.

My third and last card was inspired by two challenges-Freshly Made Sketches #309 and Inspired by the Little Things #69.

I used paper scraps and left overs from my desk for this card.

The thanks die cut is from Lawn Fawn and the leaf is from Simon Says Stamp! "The Color of Fun".

I used Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Pens over the thanks and then covered it with Glossy Accents.

Well that is all for me today. I thank you for stopping by!! Have a great night!!

CAS-ual Fridays Sneak Peek Chanukah

It is Saturday here on the blog and I am posting my LAST sneak peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Today were are celebrating "Chanukah" on the blog.

This stamp set and all the other stamp sets posted this week go LIVE in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store TODAY!!!

I created a simple card combining an old CAS-ual Fridays Stamps stamp set-"Star of David" and the new "Chanukah" stamp set.

I started off by stamping and heat embossing in gold a star from the "Star of David" set onto a white, A2 card base.

I then heat embossed "Happy Chanukah" from the new "Chanukah" stamp set in gold on three strips of card stock. I adhered them over the star using foam adhesive.

My last step was to adhere some random gold sequins around the sentiment strips.

This was SO SIMPLE and could be made easily in bulk. You wouldn't think for such a simple card that I would have gotten injured, would you? This was my second attempt at stamping the star on this card. The original one I put my hand in HOT embossing powder. It did not feel nice!!!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Release Day 3-"Joy"

Happy Friday!! It has been a LOOOONNNGGG week for me and I am happy it is over. However, I am excited to be bringing you another sneak peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps new stamp release on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Today the Ink Squad is showcasing the new "Joy" stamp set.

I chose to create a card using the "joy" sentiment and two of the small snowflakes.

I started off by misting a white panel with some silver and blue mist. When it was dry, I stamped the small snowflakes in Persian blue. I then adhered the panel over two strips of card stock that I had stamped in the same blue using the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Starlequin" stamp set and adhered the whole panel onto an A2, white card base.

Next I stamped the sentiment with a dusty blue ink. I covered the whole sentiment with sparkle pen and then used Nuvo drops in white to decorate the snowflake.

When everything was dry, I cut the sentiment out by hand and then adhered it to the card front. I added some silver sequins with some silver glitter glue and it was finished. So easy and I LOVE how it came out!!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Bomb Diggity" Sneak Peek

Hello, hello!!

I am popping in today to give you another sneak peek to a new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps stamp set. The Ink Squad and I are using the new set "Bomb Diggity" to make some fun projects that will be available October 21, 2017 in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store!

I created a simple card using the "You are Fabulous" sentiments from the set and mixed them with color burst pigment for a simple card.

I started off by stamping and heat embossing the sentiment from "Bomb Diggity" onto an A2 sized white piece of card stock, using white embossing powder.

I then misted the panel with water and added some color burst pigment in ultramarine blue and lime green, misting and adding more powder until I got the look I wanted.

I blotted off some of the water and then used a heat gun to dry it.

Next I cut the decorated panel into a 4" by 5 1/4" piece and adhered it to a top folding, white, A2 sized card base. I then added sequins and little gems in the background colors around the sentiment for more focus.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Fall Release Featuring the "WTF 2" Stamp Set

Happy Hump Day!!! I hope you are all having a FABULOUS week.

Today is the first day of the sneak peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps new fall release!! The design team and I are making projects with the new stamp set "WTF 2," which will be available for sale on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

When I received this set, I LOVED it for one reason and my card below explains it all:

I am the QUEEN of forgetting birthdays. It is horrible because a lot of the time I actually make the cards ahead of time and never send them out. How bad is that? I have decided I am just going to make belated birthday cards in the first place so I will be all set! This set is PERFECT for this!!

I started off this card by creating a balloon using Oxide Distress Ink and a reverse die cut circle. I used an ink distress tool to sponge the ink onto white card stock. I adhered the white panel onto an A2 sized, gray card base. Next I added a piece of black twine for the balloon string.

Using the new "WTF 2" stamp set,  I stamped the the "who totally forgot" onto a white paper strip using black ink and adhered it to the card front with foam adhesive.

I stamped the "WTF" with black ink onto white card stock and used Copic Markers in cool grays to color it in. I popped it up over the balloon and the white sentiment strip using foam adhesive.

The last step was to add color over the sentiment with a sparkle pen and some mustard Nuvo drops to give it emphasis.  Easy peasy and oh so fun!!

A Day Late and a Dollar Short-Challenges

Today I am posting a couple cards that I created on Saturday for World Card Making Day. Once again I am late for getting them in on time but that is okay. For me, it is the fun of it, not for trying to win anything!!

My first card was for the ROYGBIV Challenge on My Favorite Things.

I created a card using Oxide Distress Inks and die cuts. Love how it came out

I used my NBUS "Celebrate" die from MFT and layered it so it pops a bit above the card front. I also used my never used Tonic Aqua shimmer pen on the the black die cut and think I love it better then any sparkle pen I have used so far!!

My next card I created for a few challenges. The first was for Freshly Made Sketches #307. The sketch was the main driver for the challenge and then the colors were inspired by a photo from a private challenge I am involved in.

The cool thing about this card was with the exception of the leaf die cuts, everything was on my desk and it came together quick!!

Here is the sketch I used:

The leaf stamp is an old "Stamp in the Hand" stamp that I have. I covered it with Tombow markers, then misted the stamp and stamped it on white card stock.

I used Lawn Fawn dies for the leaves and a Umbrella Crafts "Circle Dies" for the yellow circle.

Well, that is all for me. I thank you for stopping by today. Have a fabulous night!!

Stamps-My Favorite Things "LJD Geometric Greenery," A Stamp in the Hand

Happy Thursday!!

Hello everyone!! It has been crickets here on the blog for almost a month.

I had some computer problems and when my husband tried to "fix" it, (he is a software engineer with experience in mechanical and electrical engineering) I was not able to open up my profile at all!!! Then he bought some memory, thinking that was part of the problem but that wasn't it either. After much speculation I went out and bought a new 21" Mac. My old one was a 27" screen and though I didn't think I would miss it that much, I do. I just couldn't justify the expense right now as we are saving all our pennies for Charlotte's college.

On a different note, I have been creating somewhat. I made a card for CAS(E) this Sketch #241 but never was able to post it. I sent some packages out this week for two college freshman-my nephew and one of my neighbors. The sketch was perfect to make a card for one of them!!

I used Ranger Oxide Ink to make the rainbow stripes and then the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Smiling" Fri-dies to die cut the sentiment.

I then added an emoji that I die cut using Spellbinder's "Emojis" dies. I used a bit of "Christmas Red" Stickles on the smile of the emoji, as well as "Clear" Wink of Stella" and Glossy Accents over the sunglasses.

Here is the sketch I used:

I also created a second card for my nephew using the same products in a different way. Again, I used Ranger Oxide Ink and did some ink smooshing over some watercolor paper.

I die cut the sentiment out of black and blue paper, then layered them so that appeared there was a shadow in back of the word.

I used my MISTI tool to stamp the sentiment using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Sassy Smiles" stamp set and popped it up with some foam tape beneath the sentiment.

Again, I used a die cut emoji and popped it above the sentiment. I layered the whole panel over a black A2 card base.

That is it for me today. I thank you for stopping by and hope you will all stick with me even though I had a long absence. Now that I have a working computer, all is well in my world!!!

Have a FABULOUS night!!
