A Few Challenges with the Mess on my Desk

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoyed your weekend.

Today I am here with a couple cards I created using the mess on my desk and some scraps.

First I created a card for Freshly Made Sketches #319  using the "Lounging Wine Lady" from Inky Antics. I have to admit, I am kind of obsessed with wine stamps and had to add this one to my collection. The funny thing is that I really DO NOT love wine. I prefer margaritas IF I drink, which is not all that often.

I had previously colored in the wine lady with Copic markers while I was watching TV with my husband. I pulled her out and then layered her over a patterned paper scrap and a piece of MFT Sno Cone card stock that I had cut in half and folded to make a 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" card.

Here is the sketch I used as my inspiration:

When I looked at the sentiments on the stamp set, I decided to use this one because I could use a strip for the last line.

My next card I created a birthday card using the "Spring Chicken" stamp set by Art Impressions. Once again, I had colored in the chickens months ago and did nothing. When I saw the sketch for TGIF Challenge #142, I knew that I had to use this. I am also entering this into Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes.

I decided to flip the sketch so that the white panel would be on the bottom.

I adhered orange patterned paper over the background of the card and used a Lawn Fawn "Stitched Scalloped Border" die to cut the blue, scalloped border.

I then die cut my chicken panel with the Lawn Fawn "Stitched Journaling Card" die and adhered it over the scalloped border to the card front.

My last step was to add the stamped sentiment and then use a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen, as well as some Glossy Accents and glitter glue to spruce some of the little elements up.

Well that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Monday with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Monday!! It has been brutally cold here in the Northeast and we are coming off a four day weekend due to extreme snow. I am looking forward to spring!!

Today I am on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I created the card below using some of the new stamps that were released from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps last week.

I stamped a piece of patterned paper using the previously released "Peace, Love & Coffee" using red and brown dye ink.  I then die cut it and adhered it to the top of an 4" by 5 1/2," top folding card base.

I used "Coffee Cup Fri-dies" to die cut a red coffee cut out of red card stock and stamped a sentiment in brown using "Coffee Talk." I adhered it to the front of the card with the handle hanging off.

I adhered a sentiment that I had die cut 3 times and glued together for some dimension over the sentiment. I covered the beans and the die cut sentiment with a clear glitter pen.

The last step was to tie a piece of red twine at the top.

Since I had stamped a full piece of patterned paper, I created a similar version of the first card, switching up the sentiment and the twine.

That is all for today. If you want to shop at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, use my code NORASENTME to get 15% off your total order.

Sympathy Sunday and a Twofer with the Mess on my Desk

Hello everyone!! I hope you are all having a fabulous Sunday.

Since I had a four day weekend due to snow, (I work in a school) I worked on some cards.

During Christmas vacation, I had an opportunity to clean up my craft desk a little bit. One thing that I tend to do is color stamped images with Copic markers in front of the television and then never use them. I have decided in 2018 that I am going to try to create at least one card a week with these images.

Today I created TWO cards using Altenew "Beautiful Day" flowers.

For my first card, I stamped the background and added a lace die cut from Neat and Tangled that I had never used before.

I popped the flower over over the front using foam adhesive. I like how this came out but I do not like the color the Stickles I used on the flower center dried.

(Supplies-Stamps: Altenew "Beautiful Day," My Favorite Things "Clearly Sentimental" and "Bold Diagonal Stripes Background" Dies: Altenew "Beautiful Day Dies," Neat and Tangled "Doily Envelope," My Favorite Things "Blueprints 13" Paper: White Cardstock, Stampin Up! "Gable Green," Bazzill "Pollen," MFT Eggplant, Bazzill Vellum Ink: Memento dye ink "Tuxedo Black," Hero Arts "Soft Purple" OtherSizzix Big Shot Machine, Ranger Ink Multi-Matte, 3L Scrapbook 3D Adhesive Foam Squares, Scotch Dot Adhesive)

For my second card, I used Match this Sketch #209 sketch to create my card.

Instead of stamping my background, I used a piece of gray patterned paper.

The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink. I used My Favorite Things "Clearly Sentimental" and a flower from the "Beautiful Day" stamp set for inside of the card.

Day 6 Sneak Peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps-"Heart to Heart"

It is FINALLY Friday. It seems like the shorter weeks are always the longest at work!!!

Today I am here to show you my final sneak peek for the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January 2018 release. It is a background stamp named "Heart to Heart."

I used this background to create the card below.

I have to admit that once again this was not the card I intended to make. I was just finishing with the water coloring and my darn dog had me so wired that I made a HUGE mistake. Since it took me a while to paint, I decided to go with it and cut it down into a square.

I added a white matte around the panel and adhered it to a pink A2 card front. I stamped the sentiment using "Heartfelt Sayings"  in black on a red heart. I adhered the heart using foam adhesive. My last step was to adhere pink gems randomly around the stamped panel.

This stamp set, as well as all the other sneak peeks, is available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store under the "NEW" tab. Use my code-NORASENTME-to get an extra 15% off your entire order.

I thank you for taking the time to stop by all week. I hope you have a fabulous and relaxing weekend!!

Day 5 Sneak Peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January 2018 Release-"Peace and Comfort"

Hey everyone!! Just popping in to show you a sneak peek of the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Peace and Comfort" stamp set.

I think of all the sets release this week, this is my favorite. I cannot tell you how many sympathy cards I create every month, either for me to give or someone asking me to make them a card to give.

Here is the card I created using the "Peace and Comfort" stamp set.

I started off this card by stamping the flowers in purple and yellow, along with the leaves in a row across a piece of white cardstock. I was originally going to make this a one layer card BUT when I was stamping, I got purple ink on the white card stock so I had to rethink my design.

Next I stamped the sentiment over the top of the flowers in black. I cut down the strip and layered it over an A2 card that I had covered in green patterned paper. I finished off the card by adding a black and white strip of patterned paper above the stamping.

This stamp set, as well as all the other stamp sets shown this week are available at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store under the "NEW" section. Use my code-NORASENTME to get 15% off your total order.

I thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for one more sneak peek!!

Day 4 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Sneak Peek-"Supercalifragilistic" Stamp Set

Happy Wednesday!!

Today is a "Supercalifragilistic" day at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Here is a sneak peek of the new stamp set, named "Supercalifragilistic."

I chose to create a card using this new set CAS-ual Fridays Stamps set and the previously released "Modern Petals" stamp set.

I don't know about your neck of the woods but mine is dreadfully cold. That being said, I decided to create my card with a warmer color palate.

I started off the card by stamping the "Modern Petals" background in a mango color. I then used some Nuvo Crystal Drops to create the flower centers.

Next I stamped the sentiment from "Supercalifragilistic" under the flowers with gray ink.

My last step was to use some pink ribbon to tie a bow between the sentiment and the flowers. I actually LOVE how this card came out. I actually am going to create a set of these with different colors to send some love.

This stamp set, as well as all the new stamp sets, are in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store. Just click on the new section. Use my code-NORASENTME-to get an extra 15% off your total order.

I thank you for stopping by today. Tune in tomorrow for some more sneak peeks!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

Day 3 Sneak Peek for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps-"Time for Coffee" and "Hot Coffee" Stamp Sets

Hello everyone!! I hope you all are recovered from the holidays. I am back to work, wondering how my vacation went by so fast.

Today I am giving you another sneak peek to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release. Today I made a card using the new stamp sets "Time for Coffee" and "Hot Coffee."

For my first card I used the new stamp set "Time for Coffee" and "Coffee Cup Fri-dies," along with two of my favorite Fri-die sets "Tag Buddies" and "Fun-Fetti." (I seem to use the Fun-Fetti dies on EVERYTHING lately.)

I started off by inking a piece of 4" by 5 1/4" piece of white cardstock with blue ink. I then used red ink to randomly stamp the clock from "Time for Coffee" across the inked paper. To finish off the background, I flicked white, brown and red mist across the cardstock.

When the mist dried I adhered it over a blue, A2, top folding card base. I die cut a white tag using the middle die from "Tag Buddies" and made a bow at the top with some brown twine. I then adhered the tag to the front of the card using foam adhesive.

Next I stamped a second sentiment from "Time for Coffee" in brown at the bottom of the tag. I added a die cut coffee cup and a few die cut hearts above the cup.

To complete the card I used a clear glitter pen over the hearts and covered them with glossy accents.

My next card I primarily used die cuts on my card paired with the "Hot Coffee" stamp set. I am making a concerted effort in 2018 to use not only my paper scraps but more patterned paper!!

I started off by stamping the sentiment in brown across a white card stock strip using the "Hot Coffee" stamp set. I then added three stamped coffee beans from "Peace, Love and Coffee." I cut an angle at the end and adhered it to a card base that was covered in a scrap of teal paper.

Next I layered a mix of die cuts from "Cup of Coffee" and "Fun-Fetti" over the front of some small circles that I had punched out of scraps of patterned paper.

To finish everything off, I used glossy accents over some of the coffee beans and over the hearts.

These stamp sets, along with the dies are available now at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps under new. To get an extra 15% off your total order, use the promo code NORASENTME.

I thank you for stopping by today. Tune in tomorrow for another sneak peek!! Have a FABULOUS day!!

Day 2 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Sneak Peek-"Coffee Talk" Stamp Set and "To Go Cup Fri-die"

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope 2018 brings you health and happiness!!

Today I am sharing another sneak peek from the new release at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. I created a card with the new "Coffee Talk" stamp set and "To Go Cup Fri-dies."

I started off this card by doing some repetitive stamping. I stamped "coffee" in brown onto a kraft  piece of cardstock and then stamped it again without inking it back up. I did not stamp the whole piece of cardstock but stayed more to the right. I then inked the edges with brown ink.

I mounted the stamped card front over an A2, top folding card that I had previously inked.

Next I die cut all my pieces of the to go cup from paper scraps using the "To Go Cup Fri-dies." I adhered them to the front of the card, using adhesive foam to pop the middle piece off for some dimension.

I stamped a second sentiment from the "Coffee Talk" stamp set on a strip of kraft card stock and adhered it to the insulator. I then adhered a stacked "coffee" sentiment that I die cut from brown paper using the "Cup of Coffee Fri-dies" from yesterdays sneak peek.

My last step was to adhere a "Fun-Fetti Fri-dies" heart, cover it with red glitter glue and then glossy accents.

These new products, as well as the products from yesterday are now available in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp store under the new section. Use my code NORASENTME to get an extra 15% off your total order.

That is all from me today. Tune in for another sneak peek tomorrow. Have a FABULOUS day!!
