Some Challenge Cards

Happy Sunday everyone!! This is my second post for today. Here is a link to my first post in case you want to peek.

I have had time in my craft room this week and FINALLY my mojo has kicked in a bit. It has been absent for a while-not sure why. However, on Friday night it came FLYING back so I took advantage of it while I could.

My first card was really by accident. I was trying to make a card for this weeks AAA Card Challenge #142 of making a one layer card with the option of using only black and white. One layer cards and I do not get along. I ALWAYS seem to get a smudge somewhere I don't want or make a mistake so I wind up having to do layers. Once again, that is what happened with this card!!

I made lemons out of lemonade, though, and used this weeks Freshly Made Sketches #392 as my inspiration, as well as Watercooler Wednesday Challenge: All About Occasions.

I originally stamped the blocks from Altenew's "Dare to Dream" stamp set, intending on this being a one layer card. HOWEVER, as I said before, I messed it up. I had to cut the panel down and adhere to the card front.

This is not a HUGE deal but I hate when I make mistakes!!

The sentiments are from Altenew's "Label Love" stamp set, which I popped up off the card using foam adhesive.

I actually like this card and think when I have time I will make a few more but with a different color. I will also connect the blocks better!!

My second card I am posting today is one I created LAST week but never posted. I used Freshly Made Sketches #391 as my inspiration. By the time I was ready to post, the challenge had closed. I am not letting it get me down, though. I am going to enter it in to Seize the Birthday Challenge #167: Anything Goes.

Here is the card I created:

I had stamped and die cut a TON of Sugar Pea Design's "You're My Type" typewriters in tons of different colors and really wanted to use them.

I searched through my pile of pattern papers that are presently on my floor (don't ask) and found this piece that was PERFECT to use on a typewriter card.

I pulled the blue out of pattern paper to match with the cardstock piece at the top. I also added some sparkle pen and Glossy Accents to the typewriter.

I absolutely ADORE this stamp set/die set and cannot wait to use it again on something else!!

My last card I am posting is similar to my first one BUT is one layer!!! Again, I used Altenew's "Dare to Dream" and "Label Love" stamp sets to create it. An I masked the sentiment!!

I did have a boo boo on the lower right that I had to "erase" with a sand eraser. You can still see it but it isn't horrible.

I also was better at stamping the blocks in straight line on this card. Who knew I could actually accomplish it!!

I know that this is a fluke, though and will not be trying this again any time soon.

So I am going to enter this card into AAA Card Challenge #142, One layer with the added twist of black and white.

Well, that is all from me TODAY!!! Tune in tomorrow because I am posting some other cards I created for some other challenges and I actually did SOME COLORING!!! (Gasp!!)

Have a FABULOUS day!!!

Trio of beautiful cards.
Yay, your perseverance paid off and you successfully made a black and white OLC!
But great save on your first though... I’m actually not a fan of making OLCs, so I’m partial to the first card. 😉

I have the same problem with one-layer cards - they look so "simple" but are actually much more difficult! But I love the "lemonade" you made! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
