A Card for a Few Challenges and a Long Weekend

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!!

I am popping in with two cards today. The first card I created for three challenges in mind.

My late mother has been on my mind again as of late. It always happens this time of year since she passed away in October years ago. Butterflies were her favorite!! I was inspired by three challenges for this card-the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #404, the photo from Addicted to Stamps and More #360, and the Less is More Challenge #405-We Pick, You Pick.

I think you can see how I used the sketch on this card. I added the Stampin Up! Doily instead of an oval, and I colored in the Pretty Pink Posh butterfly in purples like the butterflies in the Addicted to Stamps and More photo inspiration.

I actually colored in a couple other butterflies that were inspired by the photo but haven't turned them in to cards yet. For the Less is More Challenge, I added a little gloss to my sparkle.

I LOVE how this card came out and it makes me so happy. Butterflies always do!!

For my second card, I also created it with a Freshly Made Sketch in mind that I never got around to using. I had the perfect image to use on it, though, so I decided to do it anyway. I am also linking this card to the Sparkles Christmas Challenge 104-Winter Wishes. That snowflake and snowman count, right?

I dug out some of my hoarded Basic Grey paper and used some Picket Fence Distress Spray and some Chrome Mist on the background before I layered some silver sparkle paper, a strip of BG paper and a gray sentiment strip on the front.

I added a snowflake die cut from my stash, along with a Mama Elephant Snowman.

It is pretty tiny but I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops on the olive, Nuvo Clear Glitter Gloss on the glass and sunglasses, topped with Glossy Accents.

I LOVE how this card turned out and think I will be using this simple design to create some more Christmas cards with the tiny images I have colored in my stash!!

On another note, went to Upstate NY to visit some family for the weekend. Had so much fun hanging out with my Aunt, Uncle, my first and third cousins, as well as a beautiful ride with the leaves changing color.

One of the things we always enjoy is playing games. We had a lot of laughs playing Telestrations. I bought this game to play at Christmas with the family a couple years ago and had a blast. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself last night. It was so fun!!!

Well, that is all from me today. Want to post this so I can get these challenges entered. Thank you for taking the time to stop by!!

Both of your cards are wonderful, Nora. And I really enjoyed your post too. Your butterfly card is so lovely, and perfect for our challenge at Less Is More with the sparkle and gloss. I love the way you set that gorgeous butterfly on the doily. Wonderful effect. Thanks for playing along with us.

Two gorgeous cards ! Love your takes on the different challenges. I especially love this beautiful butterfly on the doily. Very eye-catching. Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along at ATSM.
For the LIM challenge, I just remind you that we love to see lots of clean, non-textured space to be eligible for showCASe and Prize winner choices. Anyway, I do really love your card and thank you so much for sharing it in our Less is More gallery. I hope you will come and play again with us. x

I'm glad you had a good trip to see your family - I haven't heard of that game but it sounds fun and I'm off to look it up!
Have a great weekend.
