Happy Sunday!

 Hello everyone!

Just popping in with two cards I created this weekend for some challenges. It sure was a good weekend to make cards as the weather was not very nice. We have had a week of rain and another week has been predicted. I am not complaining as I would rather have rain than a drought.

My first card, I created for two challenges.

I pulled out my Altenew *Leaf Canopy Stamp and Dies to create this card. I have been trying to use my new with my old so I also used my new *Garden Trellis Die

The two challenges that inspired this card were this weeks Color Throwdown #650 and TGIF Challenge #324, which was a sketch.

I think I have said it before but I am not great with color challenges so I was SO HAPPY when I saw this badge. The photo actually inspired me to use the Leaf Canopy set. The layout was inspired by the sketch.

I used Altnew *Chamomile Ink to stamp the yellow leaves and Altenew *Gray Denim for the gray. It was the first time I had used that gray and I think it is my new favorite

I also knew I wanted to use my Garden Trellis on this so I cut it down into a triangle to use in the bottom right corner. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things *Deepest Sympathy stamp set. I tend to use this set a lot as it it has some really great sympathy sentiments.

For my second card, I used three challenges as inspiration. I used As You See It Challenge #254-Focal Point. I also am entering this into Inspiration Station Challenge #9-Sun, Sea and Sand and I am playing along with The Card Concept #158-Long Summer Days. This is actually a record for me-three challenges at once!!

This card was SO FUN to create!! I had used *Hero Arts Seashells Fancy Dies to die cut some shells out for a different card last week. I never got around to making it so I decided to use it for these challenges.

I layered these over piece of *Neenah cardstock that I had colored in using Copic Markers to create "sand." I was trying to make the dots teeny like the Inspiration Station photo but it just wasn't working.

I decided to get out a distress tool to distress the edges of all the papers that the shells were layered on. I also took some *Vintage Photo Distress Ink and did a really light blend on the outside of each, so that the torn parts looked "dirty."

The last thing I adhered to the card was the sentiment. I wasn't sure if I wanted a black sentiment or white sentiment on my card. I even thought about a dark brown. However, my daughter said the black looked best because it popped.

The sentiment I decided to use is from My Favorite Things *Bitty Birthday Wishes that I heat embossed in white.

I love when I have mojo to create!!! It is almost like a high when I am successful at making more than one card at a time. I am easily distracted!!

Well that is all from me today. Check back tomorrow as the latest Cupcake Inspiration Challenge card will be up on the blog. Have a FABULOUS night!!

Both your cards are fabulous! I'm a big fan of seashell stamps and dies. I've not seen these before and they look amazing - such detailing! Your homemade sand is great and I think the white-on-black sentiment pops too. Thanks for joining in with us at As You See It Challenge.

Nora, you're becoming one of my favorite stampers! I always love seeing what you create! That "sand" is amazing! That whole beachy-themed card just makes me want to run to the beach and stick my toes in the water! You did such a great job with the challenges....I love it! So glad you shared this with us at As You See It this week as well as the Card Concept!

Such elegant, deeply lovely cards. The second one has me longing for the beach even more than I already am. While a seaside holiday might not be in the works anytime soon, at least we can always whip up an ocean-themed paper craft like this to help transport us there all the more in our daydream.
