Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #607

Hello Friends!

Today I am popping in with a card for the NEW round of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!!! Challenge #607 is a COLOR challenge. Create a project using the colors TOFFEE, YELLOW and RED.

I created my card with a stencil and embossing folder from Altenew called Leafy Splendor. I took the colors from the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Badge #607 as my inspiration for my leaves.

I used a combination of Distress Inks in the stencil to create the shades that I wanted.

I used a Tim Holtz Distress Tool on the edges of the paper and then used Vintage Photo Distess Ink over the edges. The Kraft card base was the perfect match for my embossed panel.

My sentiment is one that I had in my stash. I really love how this came out and I cannot wait to send this to someone special.

A New Challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog-Challenge #586

Hey Friends!!

There is a new challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog today. Challenge #586 is a THEME challenge. It is to use the theme of FAIRY TALES to create a project.

This was a tough one for me. I am not a "princess" type of person and hadn't a clue on what I was going to create for this card. I decided to go with the flower aspect of Fairy Tales for my card design.

In many Fairy Tales, flowers have a presence in the story. Roses are theme in both Sleeping Beauty and in the story of Beauty and The Beast. In Sleeping Beauty, Beauty is referred to as Briar Rose. I decided to go with that.

Below is the badge for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #586:

For my card, I used the stamp set Paint-A-Flower: Rosa Floribunda to create my card. First I heat embossed it in white. I then used a combination of Distress Inks and Zig Watercolor Markers to color it in.

I distressed the edges of the panel and then layered it over a dry embossed, pink cardstock panel.

I used a sentiment stamp from Your Next Stamp for the sentiment.

Just a Reminder for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #585

Hey friends!!

There is still time to play with us over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #585. Challenge #585 is a COLOR CHALLENGE this round. It is to use the colors yellow, gray and white on a project.

Once again, for my project I chose to use Altnew's Zesty Life stamp/stencil/die set. I LOVE lemons-both to eat and to use on my card projects!!!

Below is the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Badge #585.

First I stamped the lemon images all over a white card base in black in. I then used the stencil to shade in different colors of yellow ink and green ink.

I then stamped a separate set of lemons and die cut them out. I added a gray and white striped piece of paper over the card base and added a circle of vellum. I placed the die cut lemons over the front.

I then used some foam tape to pop up the sentiment. I added some clear sequins around the sentiment circle.

A Couple More Cards for Some Challenges

Hey friends!!!

Just popping in with some cards I created for some challenges. Both cards are get well cards as my friend asked me to create one for her and I always try to give a choice.

My first card I created was inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketches #600!! I try to play along most weeks but I don't always have time to upload. I wanted to make sure that I did today!! I also used this weeks Color Throwdown #757 as the color choices for my card.

I used Alex Siberia Designs Fantasy Flowers Die Set too die cut my aqua flowers. I added some white greenery from Altenew's Branches and Berries Die Set.

The sentiment is from Memory Box's Best Life Typewriter Sentiments.

Below are the badges that inspired these cards.

Color Throwdown

The second card that I created was inspired by the Less is More #490 and the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #518.

I started off by using a crackled dry embossing folder on the background of my card.

I then used the Postage Dies from Waffle Flower Crafts with some random stencils to shade in the stamp centers.

I added a die cut from Altenew's Branches and Berries Die Set that I had colored in with Copic Markers.

The last thing I did was to add a sentiment from a Mama Elephant stamp set.

Well, that is all from me today. Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a fabulous Sunday!

Cards Times 2 for Some Challenges

***Some Links in this post are Affiliate Links used at no extra cost to you.

Hey Friends!!

Just popping in with some cards I created for some challenges. I went back to work this week so I do not have a ton of crafting time but I was able to create a few during some down time.

My first card I created for this month's Altenew's August 2023 Inspiration Challenge. I am always wanting to do this monthly challenge but somehow I never get around to it!!

I created this card with the Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Always Sunshine and a sentiment from the Altenew Ornamental Bliss Stamp Set. I decided that a sympathy card would suit this challenge perfectly!!!

I really tried to get the colors right but when the inks dried, the inks became more aqua then I intended.

The middle color looked more orange to me when I was creating this card too. If I don't have the light on in my craft room sometimes the colors show up different in the light. I am going to include it anyway into this challenge.

My second card I am entering into this week's Time Out Challenges #245. Below is the badge and I interpreted this challenge a bit differently than I usually do.

Once again, I used the Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Always Sunshine and a sentiment from the Altenew Ornamental Bliss Stamp Set. When I think of colorful, the first thing that comes into my mind is flowers.

I used pinks, blues, greens and yellows on this card. Instead of shading the embossed images in the background, I chose to leave them completely white.

I love how this came out and cannot wait to have a chunk of time to be able to create with this set again.

My last card I am entering in to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. The theme this week is DELICIOUS DRINKS.

I chose to pull out my NEW Waffle Flower Postage Collage Dies, the Postage Collage Stamps and the Coloring Postage Collage Stencils  as the jump off for my card.

I then used Pretty Pink Posh's Summer Drinks Stamps and Dies.

I loved how this came out so much that I created a second card!!!

Aren't these so cute????

I didn't use any foam tape on these but used the dies to cut out white backgrounds to give the stamps some dimension.

I colored all the images in using Copic Markers and added a Mama Elephant Happy Birthday. I have a bunch of "little" sentiments from a bunch of companies and they match PERFECTLY with this Postage set!!!

Well, that is all from me today. I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS Saturday!!

There is Still Time to Play at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575

 Hey Crafty Friends!!

Today I am popping in with a reminder that there is still time to play with this round of Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575. It is a theme challenge-create a project with a RIBBON or a BOW!!

Below is the challenge badge for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575.

We have a sponsor for this challenge. I created my card with a Build a Garden: Grand Carnations Stamp/Stencil Set generously donated to us by our sponsor-Altenew!!!

I have never used one of these Build a Garden Sets before this challenge. One thing I loved about it is it not only contained stencils to use with the outline stamps but a stencil for the background. I used the background stencil from the collection on my card with gray ink.

I used the stamps and stencils for both flower images in the Build a Garden: Grand Carnations Stamp/Stencil Set. I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp the outline of both the flowers and the leaves.

For the purple flower, I used the Enchanted Garden and the Green Valley Mini Ink Cubes with the coordinating stencil. For my yellow flower, I used the Pocketful of Sunshine Mini Ink Cubes for the flower and the Green Valley Mini Ink Cubes for the stems.

I added a yellow twine bow over the stems and the sentiment was stamped using the same stamp set and die cut using a circle die.

For specific details on this round of the challenge and to see other cards by the Design Team, hop on over to the Cupcake Inspirations Blog

Altenew is sponsoring a random prize and I have an Altenew Stamp Wheel that I am giving away (US Players only-I cannot afford the shipping for international.) I bought two by mistake so one lucky, random US entry can win the wheel. For details, please see the blog post at Cupcake Inspirations Blog

A NEW Cupcake Inspirations Challenge-Challenge #575

Hey Crafty Friends!!

Today I am popping in with a card for our NEW Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575. It is a theme challenge for the next two weeks-create a project with a RIBBON or a BOW!!

Below is the badge for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #575

We have a sponsor for this challenge. I created my card with a Build a Garden: Grand Carnations Stamp/Stencil Set generously donated to us by our sponsor-Altenew!!!

They are one of my FAVORITE companies!! I actually have a subscription to their Paint a Flower series. I get a stamp set every month for $15.99. (no affiliate link)

I stamped the outline in Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink and then stenciled the purple layers using the Grand Carnations Stencils and Altenew Enchanted Garden Mini Ink Cubes. I then used the Altenew Green Valley Mini Ink Cubes for the green layers.

The shading at the top was done using the lightest two colors in theEnchanted Garden cube set-Wisteria and Hydrangea. I then used a dotted stamp from another company to create all the tiny splatters.

I stamped the sentiment from the Grand Carnations Set in Andromeda-the darkest purple in the Enchanted Garden cube set. I added some Glossy Accents over "friend," a die cut bow from my stash and random purple sequins. This card made me SO HAPPY!!!

Hello friends!!

I am just popping in to remind you that there is still time to play with us over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenges for Challenge #573-SEA LIFE.

For my card, I used one of the sharks from the "Shark Family" digital stamps from this round's sponsor, Pixel Paper Prints.

The badge for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #573 is below.

My waves were created by using an Altenew embossing folder that I shaded with some Salty Ocean Distress Ink and white acrylic paint and then cutting it out.

I then pieced the waves together around my shark. The sentiment I designed myself.

This card was SO FUN to create!!! I love digging through my supplies to find things to match with digital stamps.
