A Summer Fun Card for AAA Challenge #96 and A Heart Desires Challenge #15 August 2017 Mood Board

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you are enjoying your day. I have been TRYING to organize a bit of my craft stuff. I should be purging BUT cannot seem to let go of my stuff. I admire people that just let it go but as soon as I do, I wish I had it again. Am I the only one?

Have not been creating that much but BUYING a bunch. (Hence the organizing!) I am officially cut off on September 1st as I now have to start saving for Charlotte's college. We have a bit saved already but the schools that she is looking at are a bit over the budget that we had set aside.

Today I am posting a card that I created with a Copic marker scene and combining a few stamp sets. I LOVE combining my stamp sets-really helps to stretch them-but in this day and age, rarely do. I am determined to do more of it, though.

This card started off incredibly by the little LDRS Creative pig from the "Sweet Treats" set. I have been coloring them all week (more cards to come) but thought this particular piggy would look good on a beach, in a bathing suit that I drew on him.

The background I created by using my Copic Markers.  I used some photos from Pinterest to help me figure out how to do this and was surprised that this came out as well as it did. I had to shop for a bunch of Copic refills today (don't tell my husband!) because I used a TON of ink.

I die cut little clouds out of white card stock using Taylored Expressions "Little Bits Sun and Clouds" dies. On two of the clouds I used foam adhesive for a bit of pop.

I created the little towel Mr. Pig is sitting on and used one of the umbrella stamps from Pretty Pink Posh's "Rainy Days" set to help him stay out of the sun. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things "Penguins in Paradise" and the little star fish is from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Mermaids" set.

I had put a photo of the background on IG and FB before I made the card and had a few requests for a tutorial on the background. When I get my refills in I will be attempting to make my first, real video. What a scary thought!

The colors were inspired by A Heart Desires Challenge #15 August 2017 Mood Board and the scene was created for AAA Challenge #96 "Summer Fun."

I will be back tomorrow with a quick card that I created for Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #300.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!!

CASology Week 190: Weather, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #6

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I am off today and have been doing a lot of chores, making a birthday cake for my husband's birthday tomorrow and have spent a bit of time in my craft room. I love days like today!!

I have been busy crafting as of late but have not been able to share. Good things have been happening to me! I will let you all in on my secret in a couple of weeks.

That said, I made a card this week to enter into two challenges. First, I am playing with Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #6. It is my "reject" card that I created for an upcoming blog post I have this week. There is nothing wrong with it but I created two cards that day and liked the second card better.

I chose the top row across for my card-showers, glossy accents and umbrella.

I am also playing along with CASology, Week 190 and the theme is "weather."

I also decided to play with Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge this week. The theme is "Rain or Come Shine."

Here is the card I created:

I started off with a white card base and adhered three strips of red patterned paper across the card front. The paper I used were just scraps that I had in my scrap drawer. I have so many that I could probably make a hundred cards like this!!

I then I die cut the white panel using the My Favorite Things "Stitched Rectangle Scalloped Frames" die and adhered it over the patterned paper. I stamped some raindrops from Pretty Pink Posh's "Rainy Days" stamp set in My Favorite Things "Sno Cone" dye ink  at the top right corner and used glossy accents over the top to give it a "wet" effect. I also stamped the sentiment in black at the bottom.

My next step was to stamp the umbrella from the same stamp set in My Favorite Things "Persimmon" dye ink onto white card stock and die cut it out using the matching die. I also stamped and die cut the long part of the umbrella, as well as the handle. I adhered all to the card, using foam adhesive for the umbrella itself.

I added some Studio Nova drops in "Buttermilk" over the umbrella for some texture, as well as some clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on the handle.

This is the perfect day to post this card as it is has been raining on and off here today. I thank you for stopping by my blog. Have a great day!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #159

Happy Monday everyone!! I am going to admit something now-today is my birthday and I have turned 47. Age is only a number but I have been noticing things that I do not like.

For example, reading glasses. (Please excuse the selfie. I don't normally take them and so am not great at it.) I now cannot see a foot in front of my face. I have always had better then 20/20 vision and it KILLS me to have to have a pair of these in every room. I also cannot find them in smaller frames then these.

I also hate that I have to dye my hair every six weeks or you can see the gray coming in at my roots. I can deal with the wrinkles but gray hair? I am too young for that!!

Well, on that note, I am joining in with CAS(E) this Sketch #159 Challenge. I LOVE this sketch so much and am hoping to find time to do some more cards with it. I have a few ideas up my sleeve!! However, I made a really quick card last night using never before used stuff or NBUS.

This card was SO EASY to make!! I just inked and stamped the Hero Arts "Waves Background" stamp onto white card stock. I then die cut it and adhered it to foam and then to a white card base.

I stamped and embossed a sentiment and then adhered it on top of two banners I had created using patterned paper scraps from my drawer.

The last step was to adhere some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Easy peasy and I LOVE how it came out!!

Below is the sketch I used:

Isn't it fantastic? Be sure to go over to the blog and see what the design team came up with. Their projects are jaw dropping!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day!!

"Clearly Besotted-Out of this World" Cards and my NBUS Challenge #5

Happy Tuesday!

Today I wanted to share two cards I created using Clearly Besotted's "Out of this World" stamp and die set. Can I tell you that I have had so much fun making little "aliens" or monsters, as I like to call them. They are so FUN to COLOR!!

My first card, I created a shaker card. If you read my blog, you know how much I HATE making them but I have to say, this came out pretty well. I did get a bit of glue on the front of the acetate but I covered it up using some Pretty Pink Posh stars.

The first thing I did was stamp the background in with some blue and orange ink. I then created the shaker box using a Papertrey Ink "Phrase Play" die. I matted it with a blue panel like I created in this post. The fun silver sequins are a mix of stars that I have had in my stash for at least 15 years and some silver squares I purchased at JoAnn's. I then added the shaker box to the card front.

I then colored the little alien in with Copic markers, some gel pens and added him, as well as a sentiment, to the front of the card. I finished it up by adding some Pretty Pink Posh Silver Stars to cover the my glue mistakes.

I also used some clear Wink of Stella over the orange hair. It is hard to see the shine in this photo.

I LOVE how this came out. It is the first shaker card I have made that I have actually been happy with too!!

For my second card, the main inspiration was a card on the Pretty Pink Posh website. I used PPP's "Storybook #1" die as part of the inspiration.

I started by die cutting the storybook die out of white paper. I then created the bottom of the scened by stamping the planet image from Clearly Besotted's "Out of this World" stamp set. The sky was created by blending purple distress inks and then silver and white mists were shaken on top. I then adhered the panels on top of a black rounded edged rectangle die cut.

Next I scored the white card base. I then adhered both a patterned paper star panel and the black panel with the scene onto the card front.

I stamped, colored in and die cut the aliens, space ship and presents. Every image was colored in by using a combination of Copic markers and gel pens. I am kind of obsessed with using gel pens to enhance my Copic coloring on some of my images. It made the aliens oh so much cuter!

I adhered the images onto the purple scene using a combination of foam adhesive and flat adhesive. I added some Pretty Pink Posh star and clear sequins around the panels randomly to give the sky a little bit of a WOW factor. I also covered the space ship in clear Wink of Stella and used some purple Stickles at the bottom of the ship where the lights were.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how this card came out. It was a lot of work and took a ton of time but it was worth it.

I am entering this into Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5.

This is the first time I have used that PTI phrase play die even though I have had it for a year!! I also am using my PPP Storybook die for the first time too.

I thank you for stopping by. Have a FABULOUS day!!
