Sunday, Sunday and ANOTHER card using Simon Says Stamp "Time for Wine"

Happy Sunday!!

We finally had some snow that stuck yesterday. I stayed in my pajamas and did a bit of crafting, though I was supposed to go to the gym but I put it off. My daughter and my husband were at robotics and I decided that I would enjoy my time alone-something I rarely get these days!!

My method of stamping is different these days. I take a LONG time making cards so often I stamp a TON of images on a piece of paper and then color them in while I am watching television with the family. This way, I still spend time with them but then I also can do what I like to do. It is a win/win situation!! That being said, I often color more pieces then I use and then they just sit. I decided that 2017 is the year I will be using what I spent all the time on coloring!!

Today I am showcasing a card where I used Simon Says Stamps "Time for Wine"stamps and dies. I still have some pieces left over for one more card after this with purple and then I colored in a bunch more using my Copic's last night in a different color scheme. I cannot tell you how I ADORE this set of stamps. All my friends LOVE wine and I am trying to make more "adult" cards rather then cutesy. (Thought I love all my cutesy stamps too!!!)

I used the Global Design Challenge #068 as my inspiration for this card.

You are probably thinking where, right? Well, I used the same basic layout as the inspiration card, as well as polka dot paper and instead of ribbon, I used wrapped twine in the place where the ribbon would go as it matched the images better then ribbon would.

The images were colored in with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I added some Spectrum Clear Sparkle over the top and also coated some of the images with Glossy Accents too.

The polka dot paper is Reminisce "Basic Dot" and has been in my stash for YEARS. I told you I was a hoarder!!! No what I didn't add this time? Sequins!! I decided to leave them off this card for a change.

That is all from me today!! Have a fabulous day!!

Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Creative Fools Blog Hop

Hello there!! This is my second post for today.  (If you are looking for the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #7 post, please click here.)

We have been planning the Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe "Creative Fools" Blog Hop for months and I hope you enjoy it.

The design team is featuring cards that are "punny" in nature. You have from today, 9:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 until 12:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 to hop with us.

Here is the second card I created for the hop.

I have to admit, I cheated a little bit. I will let you in on that a little later, though.

I used the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Badge #1 for my card. I used the top row-goldsparkles and acetate.

I started off by stamping the "Celeste Set" stamp from Art Impressions in black dye ink and die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die. I then colored her in using Copic Markers, with the exception of the shoes. I used a Gold Wink of Stella pen over the shoes.

After coloring, I adhered the stamped panel toa 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" top folding white card that I had covered in a piece of Basic Gray patterned paper from the "Aurora" collection.

Here is where the fun began!! I added Wink of Stella to Celeste's leopard print shirt and Diamond Stickles to her earring for some sparkle. Then here is where I cheated. I attempted to make the glass out of acetate but failed. Instead, I covered it with clear Wink of Stella and some Glossy Accents.

I loved the card so much when it was completed that I colored three more panels in a similar fashion. I have yet to make them into cards, but will take a photo when I do.

Now here is the fun part!!  I am offering a prize for my readers. Leave a comment on my blog and I will pick a winner from the commenters. I will be posting the winner on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

Please hop on over to the other design team members to see their fabulous creations. The next on the hop is Lindsey Larsen.

Here are the list of the participants in order:

Remember, if you get lost, you can always go back to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Blog!!

I also want to remind you of another fabulous hop going on. It is at djkardkreations. Hope on over to get all the information!!

Thank you for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did to create it.

Freshly Made Sketches #222, PaperTrey Ink Inspiration Card Challenge and some snow!!

Happy Saturday everyone!! It has not been a fun twenty four hours here at my house. It started off well and good with a snow day yesterday. I got up early and did tons of laundry and spent some time in my craft room. At about 2:30 p.m., the power went off....and did not come back on until 12:30 p.m. today. It was quite a chilly night last night!! We do have a portable generator but the fumes made me sick because it was a bit too near the house, so we did not have it on all night.

Then while I was brushing my teeth this morning, I knocked the electric tooth brush charger into the toilet. Don't ask me how this happened but it did. Not sure how I will be charging my tooth brush but thinking I will be brushing old school. My dentist won't be happy as that electric toothbrush has given me some good check ups. It makes my teeth shine!!

Anyway, BEFORE all this happened, I was able to make a card using Freshly Made Sketches #222 and the PaperTrey Ink Inspiration Color Challenge. PaperTrey is having their 9th Anniversary celebration and having some fabulous challenges. Be sure to check it out!! Here is my card:

I chose Kay Miller's card and tried to "channel" her as she is a FABULOUS designer. It did not come out exactly as I pictured it but I like it.

Here is the sketch and the color card that inspired this card:

I started the card off by using Orange Zest and Summer Sunrise ink as watercolor. Kay often uses water coloring on her cards and tends to use the most fabulous colors. I was inspired by her stunning backgrounds so I decided to give it a try.

I then die cut the panel when the ink was dry and mounted it onto a Raspberry Fizz patterned paper card base.

I then added an Orange Zest border that I die cut using PTI's "Journal Card Border Dies" and a frame in Summer Sunrise that I die cut using the PTI frame die.

I then stamped and die cut flowers using PaperTrey's "One Big Happy" limited edition stamp and die collection using Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Sweet Blush and Simply Chartreuse dye ink. I also die cut the "happy" sentiment out of black paper to add over the frame.

I adhered the flowers and the pink sentiment strip using foam adhesive. I then added the three clear sequins using matte adhesive.

My last step was to use clear Wink of Stella over the orange and yellow flower centers.

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Have a great night!!
