A Couple of Cards and My Anniversary!!

Hello everyone!! I hope that you are all doing well.

It is my 24th wedding anniversary. Chris bought me some pretty flowers but we did not do anything special today.

I have no desire to go out anywhere to eat. We did go out for ice cream. Chris hates going anywhere because of the masks!! I still had to commemorate it somehow so I made him take this selfie.

Today I am sharing some cards I created this weekend. The first I created for this weeks Cupcake Inspiration Challenge # 498.

The challenge was a color challenge to use yellow, white and blue. My blue is NOT the same shade as the photo and I hope this is okay.

I used Reverse Confetti's "Butterfly Wreath" stamp and die for my card. I stamped the wreath on a pale blue cardstock and colored the butterflies in with different colored aqua blue pencils.

I mounted the wreath over an A2, top folding white card base that I had splattered yellow and blue mists all over.

This was a fun card to make and I had fun getting messy. I am NOT great at colored pencil coloring, though. I cannot seem to shade no matter how hard I try.

I am going to enter this into The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I have not been great about participating in this challenge this time around but I am glad I did get to color a bit!!

My second card that I am posting was inspired by THIS card from Karolyn Loncon's Paper Therapy Blog that I saw on Pinterest.

I used pattern paper scraps to create my flowers. I could probably make 100's of these cards with the amount of scraps I have!!

I chose to CASE her card because my mojo is lost right now. I hate when that happens!!!

This was a lot of fun to create and I will be making a couple more like this at a later date.

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a fabulous night!!!

MFT Camp Create: Coloring on Kraft and Magnificent Masking with CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #181

Happy Tuesday!! As I write this I am listening to my daughter catch a Pokeman and my husband sighing in disappointment that he didn't get one. He is standing outside at the end of the driveway trying to catch one. Charlotte is beating him and he does not like that!! Sigh.

Now on to why I am really posting!!  I created two cards for for My Favorite Things "Camp Create."

My first card is for Camp Create Day 2: Coloring on Kraft. I used my NEW MFT "Adorable Elephants" stamp set. I was so excited that they finally had it in stock. Now I am waiting for the matching dies to be in stock!!

I did a bit of masking with the flowers and used Prismacolor pencils to color the images in.  I did it in layers. After I was done, I used a black gel pen to go over the stamped lines. I created the grass by using several green pencils and making lines in different directions.

I used a die cut the image with a MFT "Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stax." I mounted the elephant onto an A2 blue card base that had a die cut piece of chevron paper from MFT's "Calm and Cozy Chevron" paper pad. My last step was to adhere some Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins in trios on both sides of the kraft panel.

I started off by masking MFT's "Chunky Herringbone" stencil on a piece of white Bristol Board. I used Post It tape to make off a part of the white background that I wanted to be stenciled. I then used MFT's "Purple Rain" dye ink and blended it in. I ADORE this ink!!!

I die cut the panel with one of the dies in "Blueprints 13" and adhered it to a "Wild Cherry" top folding card base. Next I added some "Purple Rain" card stock strips above and below the herringbone pattern.

I added a Simon Says Stamp! "Hugs" sentiment that I die cut out of "Black Licorice" card stock. I used Clear Wink of Stella over it to give it a bit of shine. I adhered the flowers and leaves from MFT's "Buildable Blooms" stamp and die set in a cluster. My last step was to adhere sequins for the flower centers and dots of Stickles in complementing colors inside the sequins.

That is all for me today. Thank you for stopping by!!

PaperTrey Ink's Anniversary Challenges- Day 2: Dress Up Inspiration

Happy Sunday everyone!! It has been quite a relaxing day. No mishaps at all, thank goodness!! Besides going to the gym, I spent most of the day doing laundry that I could not do yesterday and in my craft room. That to me is an awesome day.

Today I created two cards for PaperTrey Ink's 9th Anniversary Challenge day 2: Dress Up Inspiration. I was to pick an item from my closet to use as inspiration for my card. As I was going through my clothes, I noticed that I am quite boring. I buy a lot of solid colored items. I do buy bright colors and they usually have some kind of texture but are all one color. I tend to put the patterns in my accessories so I decided to go that route. I am a scarf fanatic. I have almost every scarf still that I ever owned. I decided to go through my two boxes and pull one out that might inspire me.

I chose this plaid scarf as my inspiration piece for two reasons. First, I wanted to finally used PTI's "Plaid Builder" set that has been sitting in my stash, waiting for me to pull out. I also liked the colors because I could make a more neutral card if I wanted-for male or female.

I started off by using the "Plaid Builder" set and stamped my plaid with Blueberry Sky, Pure Poppy and Enchanted Evening ink.

On my scarf, the red was more emphasized then the blue but I chose the blue to be more prevalent on my stamped paper.

Instead of using the whole piece of paper and making one card, I chose to cut it up and create two. The first card I created I made into a birthday card.

I added a panel of the plaid paper on a diagonal at the top and used a strip of Pure Poppy card stock under it. I then pulled out an old set of stamps from PTI-"Cupcake Inspiration"-to stamp the cup cake.

I used Blueberry Sky ink for the bottom and stamped the top in black. I used Copic markers to give some color to the frosting. I then stamped the sentiment from "Tremendous Treats: Birthday" in Enchanted Evening ink.

I topped the cup cake off with "sprinkles" using red rhinestones. I really like how this card came out and think that it is a more masculine card.

My second I decided to cut a banner out of the rest of the plaid paper.

To start this card, I die cut a frame out of Enchanted Evening paper and adhered it to a Blueberry Sky card base. I then adhered the plaid banner over the top of both. I used the "Bowl of Sunshine" stamp set for the bowl of apples. The bowl was stamped with Blueberry Sky ink and for the apples, I used Pure Poppy and a brown ink I had for the stems.

I then used foam adhesive adhere them to the card front used and Wink of Stella, and then Glossy Accents, over the apples. I chose not to use the leaves from the apples because I did not want to add green to this card. I am not sure I like how the apples look without them, though.

Next I added a white banner with the sentiment stamped in both Blueberry Sky and Pure Poppy Ink. I die cut a flower using PaperTrey's "Bitty Button Stacks" and placed a "candy" from Queen and Company in the middle.

I had a lot of fun putting these cards together and made an effort to use old and new stamps. Just because something is not new does not mean that it is not beautiful!!

I thank you for stopping by tonight to look at my creations. Have a great night!!
