A Catherine Pooler Collaboration with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Friday everyone!! So excited for the weekend!!!

Today on the blog I am sharing THREE cards I created in a collaboration with Catherine Pooler Designs and CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Catherine Pooler was so kind to send the design team a package of her AWESOME inks (I received the Carnivale set, along with her Midnight Ink) and I decided use them in three different ways.

For my first card, I used Suede Shoes ink color and the CAS-Fridays Modern Petals Stencil to create a background for my card.

I paired this with the Garden Fri-dies and the soon to be retired Peace and Comfort stamp set to complete my card.

I used Catherine Pooler's "Be Mine" for a little direct to paper action for my pink flowers and the "Mardi Gras" to shade in the green leaves.

I stamped the sentiment from Peace and Comfort using the Midnight Ink

For my second card, I did some ink smooshing on white paper using Catherine Pooler's "Tutti Frutti," "Tiki Torch," "Mardi Gras," and "Lemoncello" dye ink. I then die cut leaves out of the home made paper using CAS-ual Fridays soon to be retired Acorn Fri-dies.

These inks were awesome to use for this technique as they were so pigmented that I didn't have to do a ton of work.

I layered these leaves over a piece of kraft embossed paper that I received as protection from some products in a package!! I love to recycle on a card!!

The stems were die cut from kraft cardstock and shaded in with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

My last card I used a direct to paper technique with a rainbow of inks from Catherine Pooler. I then used some water over the top to get the drips down watercolor paper.

I let the background dry and then sprayed it again with some shimmer spray to make it shine. I paired this background with the CAS-Fridays Be a Unicorn stamp set and matching Unicorn Fri-die.

I used Copic markers to color in my unicorn but I made it a little too dark. Sigh. These things do happen!!!

To finish off my card, I added some clear sequins that I covered with Nuvo Glitter Accents.

My final step was to cover the unicorn horn with the Nuvo Glitter Accents and the entire unicorn with some Wink of Stella. There is a TON of sparkle and shine on this card that was really difficult to photograph. This is my favorite of all three cards!!!!

Playing With Pattern using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and a Hike

Hi everyone!! Today I am on the CAS-ual Fridays Blog with a card that was inspired by a pattern I saw on Pinterest. Below is a sneak peek of the card.

Hope on over to the blog to see the full card and a step by step on how I created this.

In other news, I went hiking yesterday with my Ireland buddies. We have been hiking some CT state parks this summer. We have been trying to do things outside so we have less of a chance of catching Covid from each other and wear masks when appropriate. Seeing them has helped my sanity because I don't go anywhere!!! Below are a few photos I took at Southford State Park.

One thing this place had was a bunch of waterfalls. These are pretty lame right now as we have a drought this summer but they still were pretty!!!

The photo above and below are the same waterfall, taken at different spots on the trail. I was actually standing in the middle of the stream on a rock for the one below. A little boy was so mad because his father would not let him go in the water to do the same thing!!! I am always setting a bad example!!

Another feature of this hike is the "covered bridge." But come to find out, it really isn't that old. Kind of a disappointment.

This did used to be a mill site, though, as you could see the stones they used to grind whatever they were milling around the bridge.

There were downed trees galore in this forest, as well as some funky growing trees. For some reason, I have a fascination with trees. I love the textures of different tree barks and the stuff that grows around it.

We were joking that the tree above was a "pregnant" tree but it almost looks like some kind of face to me.

This tree the trunk actually was growing in a curve. There was a live canopy at the top!!!

Downstream!!! I really would love to see this when it is at full force. It would also be a lovely hike for the fall.

We ended the day with some breakfast!! We got up early so we could beat the rush of the day at the park so this berry french toast hit the spot!!!

Well, that is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

An Encouragement Card Preview and a Catch Up on my Life

Hi everyone!! Long time no see. It has been CRAZY in my household. Charlotte graduated last week and I have been busy since then trying to get ready for her graduation party that we gave her yesterday. I am NOT an entertainer so having tons of people over stresses me OUT. I will post photos at a later date.

Today I am over on the CAS-ual Fridays Blog featuring an encouragement card. My friend's mother is going through a rough time with radiation and chemo and I wanted to make her a special card. Here is a sneak peek and a photo step-by-step is over at the blog.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I will be back this week with some more projects and photos of my life!!!

Have a FABULOUS Sunday!!

New from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps-Peaceful Garden and Garden Fri-Dies

Happy Hump Day!!

Today I am back with a project using the new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Peaceful Garden" stamp set and "Garden Fri-Dies."

I started off my card by covering a neutral, A2 card base with patterned paper. I then used foam adhesive to adhere a circle where I had stamped the leaves from the "Peaceful Garden" stamp set.

Next I adhered some vellum leaves that I had die cut using the "Garden Fri-Dies." I topped them with some red roses that I had die cut using the same die set.

I added a black, gold embossed sentiment strip in the middle of the circle and then covered all the roses with Glossy Accents.

To finish off the card, I randomly added some clear sequins.

These new products are available now in the "NEW" section of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store. Use my code-NORASENTME-to get an extra 15% off your total order.

For more projects using these fun goodies, hop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. Tune in tomorrow for one last post using another new stamp and die set.
